  1. Missed my deliverytoday, unlucky timing we all went out for lunch (attempted delivery 12:00 noon) They left me an authority to leave form for them but I'll have to be here because they will just get nicked from the front driveway otherwise. They are redelivering on Thursday.
  2. series 2 didn't come out in '95 only late '96 as far as I know. motoman described the abs motor unit well, its a rectangular solid and metalic with thin tubes connected to it. to check if its working visit Nissan and ask if they can plug their "consult" unit into it to get an error readout for you.
  3. I'd like to know too, I'm doing the same conversion with my 4dr trying to decide whether to buy a new diff to get the manual gear ratio. Also does anyone know if the auto diff is a 1/2 by 1/2 way? Is it worth converting to a 1 and a 1/2 way? Can you buy the internals or do you have to buy a whole new diff?
  4. how many rwkw is it rated for? need you to translate 3400kg as this doesn't mean anything to me
  5. Sounds Right Harder (faster spring rate) in front for better tracking, stops the engine weighted front from bouncing similar to increasing your front sway bar tension. Helps keep a more consistent weight on the rear wheels by shifting the weight to the rear as well. Under hard braking I found in the R33 with standard set up the front springs too soft as there is severe oversteer under braking, the rear wheels just don't seem to have enough grip. My current set up is very good fatter rubber on the rear and 60 rate front and 40 rate rear single rate springs. With the harder front springs I'm finding the weight is more on the rear wheels now. Must metion I've got whiteline adjustable swaybars set up. After I put a front strut bar on I had to loosen the front swaybar a notch. I suppose the front strut bar might help if I have an accident but I havn't tested this. Also this setup is giving me a nice drift position, only looses rear traction when flooring it in corners. With the fronts tracking perfectly. edited for spelling
  6. Is that why they squeak? You guys are sure its seized calipers? I changed my wheels to 18 inch and they no longer squeak anymore. I thought it was temperature and pad temperature missmatch. Miraculously the squeak went away in mine 20 minutes after I put 18 inch rims on. I am putting this down to better air flow to cool the rotor.
  7. No it won't make much difference, 3.25" is the tested optimum max size with a GT3040 turbo, so 3.5" should be enough. Sorry I can't remember who tested it. edit - argh still getting used to the controls of the new forum, lost most of my typing...here goes again. I like that dual exhaust set up, you should be able to make the car quieter while also getting even better flow characteristics setting it up so that the exhaust tips are smaller but still meet the 3.5" total size. Multiple smaller exhaust tips should create a lower pressure differential and assist flow. I like this idea, so now I wonder where I can get dual exhaust system from in Sydney? Is there a brand name option for this or is it all custom? The noise on my car is perfect lower tone (same tone all through rev range, just volume change) but a bit loud on low throttle ie. off boost, I'm thinking of installing an exhaust valve controller (EVC). Should I get tuner to set it with the computer to automatically open and close proportionate to the THROTTLE or BOOST or RPM ??? (Anyone have advice on whats best?).
  8. Thanks for the headunit earth tip. Been having the same problem - quiet whirr, I'm buying an A'PEX Super Ground Stabilizer but maybe I should try this first. edit - I tried to shorten the blank space, and what happened to the delete post option?
  9. hahahahaha sweet
  10. Do head gaskets change the compression? What is the difference between stopper type and super grommet type and metal type? Oh and if they do change compression - what is standard compression on a R33 GTS-T series 2
  11. If you take an item off you should put a new gasket on every time!

  13. Just get some japanese cigars and money and mix the smoke with the money and place them under the seat. Japanese money smells real nice. The old trick for new car smell is a dab of high quality axle grease under the seats, but this is carcinogenic to breath. Or just get a new activated carbon filter replacement. Skylines have activated carbon filters you know. This probably causes the nice smell. In my car there is a supplementary air filter system on the rear parcel tray, its black with Japanese smoke. They sure do smoke a lot in Japan. I have a feeling its the air freshener that is popular in Japan, those little coloured balls that IOWNU mentioned above. They are a Japanese made brand of car perfume, comes in tallish jars in three distinct colours. Green, Charcoal black, and Blue balls about 3 mm in diametre. Can't remember what the perfumes were called, was in Japanese (can't read it). I do know the charcoal version is meant to absorb odours (had English description on it). When I was looking at these products I bought the Soft99 brand Carnauba wax, made in Japan. If anyone thinks there is a market for these Japanese car bead perfumes, I'll bring back some Japanese jars of the stuff next time I go and put them up for sale on Skylines Australia
  14. It was 39psi recommended for those wheels by Pirelli. And I recall that the reason I put the pressure up was because the outside of the wheels was scrubbing really bad at high speed cornering with 34 psi. 39psi is ideal for normal driving. The reason I used 43psi was that during high speed cornering it stopped my tyres outside edge wearing out too much. The inside wore due to the negative camber. At the end of the day the 43psi puts a bit of extra pressure on the middle, so it wears a touch faster in the middle, and causes it to be 2mm further worn by the time it reaches the wires at the bottom of the tread. That pressure was ideal to me. -1.2 camber was my setting for the above. Just bought new 18"/9.5" and 18"/8.5" wheels and was recommended 40psi. Havn't confirmed recommended pressure with anyone yet though. Front rims 18"/8.5" with Bridgestone Potenza RE-01 235/40/ZR18 Rear rims 18"/9.5" Yokahama ASpec dB 265/35/ZR18 lowered now and have -2.84 camber on the rear and have not rolled the guards.
  15. 43 psi 225/50/r16 - but check the max pressure rating of the tyres you have - and actually this depends on the tyre. For example the Pirelli PZero Nero optimum recommended pressure by Pirelli upon phoning them is 39 psi for the 225/50/r16. I prefer 43 psi though.
  16. You asked what GT stands for. GT = GRAND TOURING Here is what I the other letters translate to R33 GTS-4 = Grand Touring Sports Four (all wheel drive) R33 GTS = Grand Touring Sports R33 GTS-T = Grand Touring Sports Turbo R33 GTR = Grand Touring Racing
  17. That comes back to driver training programs.
  18. does it cover gas powered vehicles?
  19. gov'ts and their crooked ways. putting more lives at risk just because of the political gain. Now not only do we have higher points loss and most likely more people driving without licences as a result. We will also have more P platers feeling that they have to speed all the time, since when they feel the need to go fast they will have to take more risks to do it!
  20. I predict they'll have more speeders now that they can't get a thrill from a quick power burst, they'll need to spend longer run ups and running lights so that they can get up to a thrill of speed instead of accelleration!!!
  21. can I get some pics of the front bar. Other than being cut for large intercooler, is it bent at all, ie. any bump or crash history?
  22. At least you can tell his statement is uneducated drivel. I couldn't be bothered trying to understand what he was trying to say, so no.
  23. NO, my series 2 auto locks at 25kph.
