Thanks for that. Managed to get hold of a clean set of guards a few days back. Hey thanks again anyway. Regards Greg
-
Would anyone have or know where I could pick up a set of front guards for an R32 GTR. Dont want to pay much because they are going to be cut and shut. But they do need to be straight in every respect. Paint finish is not important. Cheers Greg

You can usually get a day licence on the day. Check with the club. Cheers Greg

When you find a car that look good. Ask heaps of questions and get buckets of close up digital pics. If the seller wont oblige then they are hidding something. Then when that looks ok give NRMA a call and book a vehicle inspection. I think it costs about $150.00. They will go out and inspect the vehicle and do a complete mechanical check and provide you with a written report. They have no interest in the sale so they are VERY neutral and if they find a problem they WILL report it. Actually the down side is they report EVERYTHING and that can sometimes put you off when the fault is minor. Their report will even estimate the cost of any potential repairs required. They will aslo do an ownership search and rego check. Then if the report satisfies you you book a cheap flight on JetStar and take your cheque book with you. Drive the car back to TAS. The boat trip is a good time out. Good luck

Andy tuned my GTR with a new PFC a few weeks ago and I have the same comments. Very approachable chap. Nothing was too much trouble and he did a great job of the tune. She runs as smooth as a nut with nice power gains over the standard tune (on 98 RON) Well recommended tuner. I would have no hessitation going back there. Yeh dont the RB's sound great on full song Regards Greg

See ebay item number 280032801839 This is an ECU from a Nissan GTR R32 Nismo edition. (1990) (RB26DETT) The ECU is a Nissan Genuine Part that has been re-chipped by Veilside. It has their VS Data ROM chip fitted. Prior to removal from the vehicle it was bench marked on the dyno at 180kw at .6bar and 220kw at 1bar. The engine was stock apart from pod filters. Stoichiometric ratio was in 14.7 range through power run up to 220kw using wide band O2 sensor on 1bar boost. This ECU was replaced as an APEXI PFC was installed for competition use. It is in perfect working order. Greg

Yeh, Im not happy about the Chicane idea. Ive voiced my opinion but havent got a responce as yet ! Seems to defeat the purpose a little if you ask me. Im told it will make for a change back to second gear. My clubby revs to 9200rpm so for me its back to first. What a pain in the ar....e. But I will still have a good day if the rain stays away Yeh a new track would be great if we could find one. Cheers Greg

ferni is right. 98 RON has a higher knock rating hence you can run higher cylinder pressures and resultant heat before you get knock. Mixture is a very important component and maybe the standard ECU's just dont provide enough movement in the tune specs. After market ECU and try again. If you still dont make more power which logically you should then maybe the 98 RON aint quite the 98 RON we expect??? Big question to BP then eh? My two bobs worth. Cheers Greg Stu, who supplies Sunaco GT Plus (102). Might be good in a boosted 4age eh?
