I have a “Knock Box” for sale. (prototype unit)
Basically a high gain amplifier coupled to a piezo Transducer.
The Transducer is bolted to the engine block and transmits “engine knock” to the headphones via the high gain amplifier with gain control.
This handy tool can also be used to identify other engine noises like failed bearings etc.
Price is $69.00 plus $12.00 postage Aus. only
I can build more units if people are interested.
PM if interested.
Geezz mate thats bad news. Buy a baseball bat and keep it by the front door. Barst...ds like that deserve their knees broken.
Yeh my babies are locked away, bolted, alarmed and rigged with TNT.
Cheers
Yes I would have thought that there would need to be a reason why they recall a vehicle. I suspect it may be as a result of things like internal audits etc that show up issues in their internal paperwork etc. Being a gov dept I know they do have regular audits done. For example if an inspector failed to tick a box on a survey sheet then an audit would require that to be rectified. And of course the way to do that is to call the car back (AT YOUR INCONVENIENCE)!!
They wont tell you that because it makes them look like they stuffed up (which they probably have). Rather they will say "Oh we are having a blitz at the moment".
Cheers
BJ,
I picked up a Quaife the other day. So will try to have that installed. Also did a set of stainless tuned pipes and 2.75 in system. I think its pumping a little harder now - but still gotta get it around that bloody bend eh?
PS: Stu I know Im soft but Im gunna have to wait until I scratch it first and it dont matter after that. Once the Mrs runs the mags into the curb I'll be right
Cheers
Has anyone used a stand alone knock detection device after fitting a power FC.
I understand that the power FC has no ignition retard or knock detection facility?
I understand that usually the Power FC is tunned on a dyno and the ignition map is adjusted to avoid knock. This is usually detected by microphone or data display on the FC commander.
Just wondering how people have managed this issue?
Cheers
Greg
Does anyone know anything about the Veilside VS Data Rom replacement ECU.
Is it a simple replacement for the standard HR32 ecu or is it remapped etc?
Any feedback would be great
