OK.....So I tried tappingon a display a little mor persistantly yesterday. It work the first time(got display on after 5 minutes of driving) I tried it later on and it did not work at all.....guess it might jsut be a lose wire somewere

nah, tried that...and banging the dash....it consitantly takes an hour before it will come on...thinkin I am going to have to rip apart the dash a bit

Hey Guys Just been having a few issues with my Cima It has a full electronic dash which only seems to come on after a good hour of driving. This isnt exactly a good thing as I rarely drive for that long, so most of the time I am guessing how fast I am going and how much petrol I have left Just wondering if anyone else has had similair problems and if so how they fixed it. The only thing I can think might be causing it is if the dash runs off a capacitor of some sort and it is being drained of power by some dodgy wiring from the previous stereo install. Cant think of any other reason why it would take an hour for the dash to actually come on. I know a few of the silvia's have similair dashes so if anyone knows someone with one them please ask them if they have had any troubles.

i may be guessing but from memory a RB20 intake will not fit a RB25 head...think you might have a RB20 intake mate but I dont really have a way of proving this. I just know I went to buy one of these cheapy aftermarket plenums and they only had ones to suit a RB25 so that would suggest the RB20 one is differant

To much pressure in your sump while cause the dipstick to pop out. Breather hoses may possibly be blocked??? is the breather hoses set up like factory?

The BIGGEST (and main) advantage to the DETT is the fact that it comes with better electronics from the getgo, like a maf that meters 480hp (instead of 300) or 370cc injectors (instead of 259cc) or intercoolers (instead of none), or an awesome fuel pump (instead of one that can barely do 300whp). Both of the engines have stout bottom ends with pistons that fail about the same point (before 500ish whp). (COPIED OFF ANOTHER SITE WHILE DOING RESEARCH)

Only just bought it but I will sort some pics out for ya. My mate had the fuse box translated to english so I will get that off him to. Only advantage of vg30dett is access to a manual G/Box and TT setup. VG30dett has bigger injectors aint exactly a huge upgrade on the vg30det though

I would probably just stick to the VG30DET motor if I were you mate if you are going to stick with an auto setup....will likely avoid the potential trouble of using a Cima ECU on a 300ZX engine. I have grand plans to stick a VG30DETT into my Cima when the orignal engine finally shits itself to convert it to a manual(hopefully for some drifto) spend the extra $100 and save yourself alot of headaches I reacon mate

I seem to be in the same situation at the moment. Front Coilies are fairly rooted on my Y31 Cima Dont really want to put in some second hand ones... Anyone know of any other options apart from the Jics? Have heard of people converting the front of R31's overs to a S13 suspension setup Just wondering if there is any truth to this as from what I can see it might be doable on the Cima -

OK Have sold the shell so interior stuff is no longer available I do however have a complete dash with even the kick panels available but that is about it will post pics tomorrow

Will get you a picture of the cage if you like....but engine is in car so cant really be bothered pulling it out for a picture. Will work out a price for the aircon dash surround after the weekend mate. Can't remember what it looks like from memory...has been a long time since I sat in the drivers seat of it
