  8. If you can't afford jap pistons stick with stock ones, i don't rate yank stuff like arias, wiseco etc, and a set of hks pistons if you get them from greenline are not that expensive and of a much better spec and quality than the yank stuff.. as for a rebuild, if you buy the pistons budget 2-3k, by the time you factor in labour to remove and put the motor back in, which should take about a day, maybe a day and a bit, to strip the motor down, check, inspect and then reasemble, measure, check, re measure, buy bearings, gaskets, head gasket etc it will come in around the 2-3k from most workshops at a guess..
  9. If he ever goes to sell this baby, let me know.. ive got some plans for one of them..

  11. ah i prefer the even older days days of 4-5 thousan people all hanging over the bottom car park, a 44 gallon drum of oil tipped into it from a ute passing by slowly, and BURNTOUTS BURNOUTS BURNOUTS till the cops kick you out, then back the next night for round 2
  12. the eliminations will be, yes
  13. people don't drift at AHG, only when they run sprints people might get away with it, but as for drifting, they don't want to know about it, just now anyway, maybe later in life, but the mc complex is a business, not a fun track for people
  14. two.06l, might have been the aqua marine park you saw on the tv, they have a petting poola s you walk in, but its pretty funky.. there are a lot of really nice beaches and stuff like that in WA, where you can get that, margaret river is one for the surfers, and the wine buff in you, really nice place to cmap too if your into that thing, the camping grounds down there while a camping ground, still have a toilet, and you can usually find showers at most of the caravan parks which will let you use them for a nominal fee, lots of caravan parks andplaces with challet type stuff too.. other really good spots to hit, bussleton/dunsborough, which is 30 mins north of margaret.. esperance, which IMHO has the best beaches of anywhere in the world, crystal clear water, the town itself is pretty cool, very friendly, lots of places to stay, lots of places to camp, lots of places, to swim and fish, and most of the beaches are hard enough to drive on in a normal car for a decent distance, so your not limited ot having a 4wd only.. Lancelin is an ok town, big with the surfers, good sand unes to have fun in, and wedge island a little shack town is 30 minutes north.. over that, kalbarri, big gorges, nice beaches, big with the beach fishermen, some really nice places to go.. Shark bay/monkey mia, many years ago, monkey mia used to rock, you could camp on the beach, pat the dolphins, feed the dolphins your own fish, it was realy laid back, while still a big tourist destination, saddly now you have to buy fish, im not sure if you can pet the dolphins anymore, and its been overly commercialised, which is a real shame, as it lost its shine, and i haven't been back there since being a kid.. further north, broome, tops for the nudist in you, _really_ nice in the middle of the year, mid 30's, nice humidity, you can get a really good tan, without needing sunscreen or getting burnt like a bastard, some nice sights there as well, the croc farm, and the big bird aviry for one.. and a little further inland, theres millstream, and the national parks there in, and the whitenoom gorges.. so that lot should keep you busy for a while
  15. dunno if you put me down or, not, but if it happens, myself, and the owner of the car ill be punting would be in for it
  16. im sure auto masters could come to the call one of those drill driven bottle brush hone tools would work wonders on a 26 bore..
  17. if you looking for cafe type stuff im living in vic park atm, in a little unit/townhouse deal, but if you are looking to buy, there is a lot of places in vic park, but its kinda semi dodge, depending which bit you live in, and its also a fairly old suburb, most of the houses for sale are renovators deals, or on a duplex block setup.. if you want a nice suburb, look at floreat, lived there for the past 11 odd years before moving, its quiet, clean, and 5 minutes from subi and scarborough, 10 from the city and northbridge and cottesloe, and 15 to hillaries, and freo, and you can usually find good sized houses on a propper block for the sort of money your talking..
  18. Did i hear those two words everyone loves to hear HOUSE WARMING! congrats guys! welcome to the world of no money and slow cars
  19. steve denver = me and its not down
  20. ah, last i read, the september 30 comp is being organised by the Wa sporting car club, with the help of people like peta <miss_petepie> jash's/c-red comp never eventuated...
  21. DO NOT use plastic brackets, they are weak.. and DO NOT screw it into the plastic centre console.. for one they tear the screws out without much effort, and in the event of an impact, that 1kg extinguisher, suddenly become a whole lot heaver, and then becomes a flying object, a mate recently copped an extinuisher in the head after the rally car he was navving in left the road and hit a tree at 90kph, it hurt, a lot, even through his helmet.. so be smart about it, use metal brackets only, and screw it into steel, eg, behind the seats on the floor, or, into the rail that runs from the trans tunnel to the door sil under the front of the seat.. much more secure way of affixing it..
  22. also on the side of looking after the car.. over fill the oil a little, not lots, but a couple hundred ml. it'll help prevent starvation and thus motor failure
  23. ah, given that the all fours and tenagah weekend just got postphoned again, and it was due to run on the 20th/21st of this month, i wouldn't get your hopes too high on it holding firm, that said, ill probably be keen for a couple of spots, if it all happens to plan
