My early call on the weather looks to coming true, I will be sitting out this week, I really have too much to do anyway. See you guys next week.

I have a set of Apexi T-max coilovers for sale. Reason for sale; Found a set of Ohlins. They are in good condition, tried to get as many pics from different angles to show the good condition, height and damper adjustable. I am in Brisbane, would prefer local buyer but could be talked into sending interstate. $950 I also have the c-spanners for height adjustment.

Gotta go now, need to go to a house with pay TV! See some of you guys tomorrow night.

Yep, thats why I have put the mini back on the road I was going to sell it but like most cars its worth more to me than to someone else, and there is no way I will be using the R the way I have used my current skyline. Have done over 50000k in the 2.5yrs of ownership. Have loved every minute of it and has yet to have any real problems (just one seal let go once, kinda self inflicted) but I am anticipating the GTR being a "little" more expensive to run and I don't want to have to leave it in shopping centres and stuff. Beside its more fun using the mini in traffic and parking situations and leave the line for the open road driving where you can use the comfort/power/handling characteristics of the skyline.

I will be at Milton Maccas as long as the weather is good. Get a Uniden and only use duracell batteries if you don't have rechargeables. I use these thing all day every day at work and easily get one month of use out of the batteries. Use only duracell though, tried ALL the rest and nothing else comes close. Might be more expensive to start with but ends up cheaper in the long run, or go rechargeables, although I find them a little unreliable.

According to the weather forcast it could be a little wet this Thursday night. If it is I probably won't make the trip.

I should be there again.

I don't want to buy a 32 GTR, nor do I care about the 15yr rule. But during my quest for a 33 GTR I found it difficult to find an example which I considered "good". As stated before GTR's were not built to pickup a newspaper around the corner so most have been driven quite hard. I am sure there are some good, "bargain" cars out there but I fail to see this being the norm. I would approach purchase with extreme caution and make sure you have money set aside just in case you car turns out to need some attention. But if you are lucky enough to find a good 89 GTR, well, you will find no other car like it for the money, would be the best buy you could ever make in relation to a car purchase. Good Luck.

So not looking forward to tomorrow, I hate Mondays.

Just make sure it doesn't sit for too long. I thought the same thing with the mini, I couldn't afford to register 2 cars at the time so de-registered it and garaged it for 4 yrs. It cost me $2k just in parts to get it back to roadworthy. Must keep all rubber from drying out and cracking. Anything with fluid in it will probably be shagged ie, entire cooling system, brakes etc. Things like water pumps don't like to be idle for too long. The list goes on. The mini was only garaged 2 yrs after a complete ground up rebuild so was basically new and all this still happened to it, certainly wasn't a typical 15yr+ car with 100000km on it. Just make sure you make the build quick otherwise it will end up costing you heaps more.

Obviously you have ruled out the corolla, so sell it, you NEED a 32 GTR, that just leaves the choice of practical car you need. Sedan or Stagea???? A pretty nice choice to have. I have a similar choice but I am keeping the mini now, I think, as its over 30yrs old, through the mini club I can get special interest registration and also cheaper insurance. It costs next to nothing to keep and I reckon overall I will be saving money using the mini to run around in, so cheap on fuel and will help keep the km's down down on the other cars, especially the R.

MMMM, can't wait! Keen to have a go at the second half too, sounds fun. Come on 33 drivers we must band together, can't be beaten by a NA 31 again it the time trials! Mental note for myself: don't touch witches hats.

I have to say the turnouts the last three weeks have been excellent. Good to see there is a core group of people keen to go out. Should make for a great club when its officially up and running. With this many active people we should easily have enough people for SAU track days and stuff. The mini club I am in can have one hundred cars turn up for a show'n'shine, so it will be good if the skyline club can be the same! If the gold coin thing keeps up that will help the treasury and also contribute to better events. Good work guys.

I will meet you guys their as well, seeing its not far from my place.

Someone make sure I use my camera this time, I have bought it along everytime just it never makes it out of the car.
-
It was $120 to get the wheels polished, the best money I have spent so far! I spent 4hrs hand polishing them before I gave up and got nowhere near the finish on them that they have now. Well worth it.
-
I should be down, will bring the line though, felt a little out of place in the mini last week. How good is the mini though, been driving it everywhere the last two weeks, and I still have 1/3 of a tank left! Now I remember why I could afford to drive everywhere back in my school/uni days and my other mates couldn't!

Well done! Good to see its all coming together.

No, I know some compliance guys have been doing that, but if they get caught its the end of their license. The destruction has to be completely documented, even mag wheel are supposed to get squashed. Very strict, almost impossible to get around, especially since they do random checks and stuff. Doesn't really bother me too much, I didn't have much to lose, only a cat back exhaust and a steering wheel, I was getting rid of the steering wheel anyway. Oh, and it gets destroyed and then replaced at the customers expense. More mods the dearer compliance gets.
-
Just to clarify, all mods have to be removed, destroyed and replaced with factory stuff. Bye, bye exhaust, steering wheel and gearknob. Not too upset at losing the gearknob, it was a razo knob but it still looked ordinary. But losing the rest sux, especially the exhaust.

Yeah, as Leewah said, fins on the diff casing, plus you can see the extra pump for the active diff pump gear tucked up on the right of the car behind the rear wheel arch and the line going from it to the diff. There should also be a A-LSD light on the tacho. Those two thing are probably the easiest ones to pick. They have different shocks and sit 10mm lower or something too, but you could never pick that. The attessa computer is different, the attessa-pro, don't know how to pick the difference externally. And apparently a V-spec GTR always has a "W" as part of its Chassis identification tag whereas a normal GTRs have an "O". V-specs also have different brake ducts. Most of that info came from an article in a HPI mag. Should be good. They all checked out on my V-spec which I got to see for the first time yesterday at the compliance workshop. Can email the article if you like, too big to post here and if I reduce it, its too hard to read.

Put me down as a possibility. Never know with work.

I agree, when I first got mine over 2 1/2 yrs ago now, there really wasn't that many around but now you can't go for a drive anywhere without seeing a 33 along the way. Still, they are a damn fine car, I suppose it wasn't going to take to long before others started to catch on to what a great buy they are.
