  1. These pics aren't from directly underneath but give a bit of an idea of some of the bits you are chasing.
  2. If you ever drop into Brisbane I would gladly take you for a spin.
  3. Nice, hopefully I will make it out to the next Morgan Park track day and see it in action!
  4. There is a couple of guys up here in Brisbane that have got complete turbo back exhausts from CES. They all rave bout the quality of workmanship, but also mention that they are not cheap. You pay for what you get I guess. There is a little article in the latest HPI mag about their dump pipes. I am thinking of getting their HPC dump pipes when the R arrives, they look very good.
  5. I have always had at least 3rd party property on my cars, even the Gemini, but have gone full comp with the skyline. When your are over 25 rating 1 the premium is pretty good, definately worth the piece of mind. I have had a few mates get hit from behind, while stationary at a give way sign for example, and people give them dodgey info or refuse to pay as they don't have insurance. There is not a lot you can do, with full comp, its not your problem, its the insurance companies. That by itself makes it worth it, even though I am yet to have an accident.
  6. I agree, you would not want a GTR if it was to be you daily driven car. Mine will be for "recreational" use only.
  7. I agree, service there is second to none.
  8. I put the clear nismo indicators on mine, I reckon, especially on white, they look heaps better. No tools required to take them out, just get your fingers at the end closest to the door and push/pull towards the front of the car. You will feel it move a little then they just lift out. I was a bit worried when I first put them on that someone may "borrow" as they are so easy to take off but 2 years have past and they are still there.
  9. I did actually drive through there at about 8:15pm. Got some fuel, some fries, didn't see any lines so left. I should have hung around for another 15min. Saw the same cars, two GTIRs and a GT starlet with a huge FMIC, that was about it.
  10. Have you still got these wheels? I am tying to show restraint but I am thinking these would look real good on my 33 GTR which arrives in oz on the 28th. Cheers, Jason
  11. Thats a bit of bad luck there Jay. Rest up and get well!
  12. If your priority is to own a GTR the you will, I don't care what profession you are in. I started in IT got bored with it and am now a surveyor with a stake in an IT related business. Just don't get into a debit cycle otherwise you will never get anywhere. Life become alot easier when you get out of having to make excessive repayments all the time. Get the GTR!
  13. Or just have had a little luck with property over the last few years, I have been saving hard the last 5 yrs, now I get to collect the rewards.
  14. Those prices are too goo to be true. For a decent 33 GTR at a Japan auction you will be looking for about 2 million yen all the way to 2.5 million yen for a real spanky version (stock). Even grade 1 or R still go for around 1.6 - 1.7 million. And anyone who can ship, pay duty and GST and then comply a car for around 5 -10 000? Give the name of your governmentcustoms officer and compliance workshop! Those prices sound good for 32s and 33s not 33s and 34s.
  15. Saw plenty of sau guys yesterday, saw 4doorz out near Mitchelton bright and early, saw squizz and the blue ceffy on Sandgate Rd about 1pm and met abuse at Bob-jane toombul. Big day.
  16. I went through http://www.directimported.com.au/. I found Phil very good to deal with. My car hasn't arrived yet so I can't give you the final answer but so far it has been a good experience. I looked local for a bit over 6 months and was dissapointed with what was on offer so went the import my own route for better choice. Look to pay for a good grade stock 33 GTR between $40-45K for non V-spec and $45-50K for a V-spec. People will tell you they can get heaps cheaper and all the local GTRs that I looked at were cheaper but the reality is to get a good grade (4+) 33 GTR thats what you have to pay, if you want cheaper you get cheaper. Never looked at 34s a little out of my range. Good luck!
  17. I have never seen it in QLD either. I can't really tell the difference in performance/economy between Optimax or Ultimate, but do believe that Optimax is the dirtier fuel. I used optimax and only optimax for the first 18 months of skyline ownership and I always had to polish out the exhaust stains from the back of the car and when pulling off the fuel filter the fuel would be black when I tipped the excess fuel out of the filter and the exhaust pipe itself would be jet black. Since changing to Ultimate about 12 months ago I have had none of these problems. Nice and clean.
  18. Wallystyles, where did you pick that car up from? I remember recently seeing Streetmachines had one for a short time, never saw it or a pic though. Yeah the red and yellow cars are the skyline imports version. They also had a white one but sold it.
  19. There was a nice black 33 GTR parked in Toowong shopping centre yesterday. Had R34 GTR rims on it, looked nery nice.
  20. Or go armed with a whiteline price catalogue so they can't markup the price like I did.

Thats why all the big car rental companies up here register their cars in Victoria. Have a look in their lots, you won't see one car in their registered in Queensland even though the cars spend their working lives up here, why would you if you had the choice.

    Great, its gone up again!
  23. I bought my bilstein shocks and front whiteline camber kit through there, prices were ok. Installed it myself and got a wheel alignment straight after, saved nearly $500 by taking out their labour. Enough to buy front and rear strut bars, pineapples and adj caster.
  24. They look a little something like this
