  1. GTR, GTST there all good. 33 GTST are by no means slow, jump into my gemini van everyday for work, that will bring you back to the real world of true slowness!
  2. I might come down for the drive, I usually go to Coffs Harbour every month or two so I will try and coincide a trip with that weekend. Have to provide good directions for all us out of towners.
  3. If thats LEDA suspension and Brendale, the guy is a legend! He has done most of the work on my dad's clubman. Really knows his stuff, build lots of purpose built race cars, like sports sedans, all his knowledge is from experience not a how to hand book. Very good, and reasonable, realistic prices. He has worked on my mini and was very happy, haven't taken the line there yet as I moved to the Southside and it a bit of an effort to get there.
  4. I have been cleaning mine gradually since the skidpan day. Made quite a mess. I have alway been hesitant to hose under the bonnet with all the electrics and all, but it doesn't sound too bad, but wait the disclaimer.
  5. I am trying to talk Jill into getting rid of her lancer and keeping the GTST at the moment, his and hers skylines, sounds good to me! Mine would be the GTR of course.
  6. Nah, has to be complied here with genuine new nissan bits for the brakes, amongst other things, they are very tough now. The new rules basically try and get the cars as close to new/showroom condition as possible considering age. Everything must be stock, and I mean everything. Can't be all bad I suppose. Still, I am sure the original Brembo/Nissan combination can't be that bad!
  7. Thanks mate, not really sure what $s to put on the GTST yet, there is such a wide range of prices out their??? It won't be up for sale until probably late Feb, I am thinking somewhere between $16k and $19k. If it goes as low as $16k I will be taking all the good bits off and selling them. There are a few guys here interested in some bits for their track exploits. (Cusco F & R strut braces, DBA slotted clubspec rotors, Cusco radius rod, bilstein shocks, O2 Rush pod and UAS Cold Air Box, etc)
  8. Excellent.
  9. Yeah, I just don't want to remove too much stuff, it seems hard enough to get interest in the GTST as it is, let alone with all the good stuff taken off. Luckily for the me the camber kits are are the same between the GTST and GTR, just need the adj. caster rod and sway bars, and I already have a nice set of fully adj, Apexi T-max coilovers sitting in my lounge room floor. Suspension is done!
  10. Let the scavenging begin! lol!
  11. Yeah, you cannot bring in anything modified anymore, but try and find a GTR in Japan that doesn't have a cat-back exhaust, almost impossible, especially considering age would be starting to catch up with factory exhaust systems. And who would replace it with a standard exhaust. Another part of the compliance is brakes have to be completely rebuilt using factory Nissan gear which comes in at around $2k, I could have used that money for slotted rotters and endless pads, and it would stop a hell of a lot better than standard Nissan stuff. Anyways, thats the rules!
  12. Cheers Guys! Checked with the compliance workshop and they said they have a standard one they will fit for compliance then just put the other one back on. There is no way they will be destroying it, even if I have to take it off as it comes off the ship!
  13. I will make out there one day, sound like you guys have fun every time out at Morgan Park. Must be a good layout.
  14. I will look into that, xenons would be nice. I will also try and get the series 3 lower lip, they look more aggressive.
  15. There are a few workshops are ready to do 33s under RAWs at the moment, early next year there should be some doing 32s and 34s. I can't remeber the name of the workshop at the moment but it is down the Gold Coast. Final cost should be around $45k possibly a little more. The new scheme is definately not as cheap as the old one, but should keep quality and maybe resale up (fingers crossed). Grade 4 V-specs are around $44-50, non V-specs about $40k+. You can go cheaper with lower grades but then you run a compliance risk with the tuffness of RAWs. Probably could have got one cheaper locally but after looking for the past 4 months the choice wasn't out there, especially for genuine v-specs. Alot of rough examples.
  16. Thanks guys, I definately know what its like to be waiting by the phone waiting for 'that' call, and the wait is already killing me! I ended up going through Direct Imported Auto Brokers, otherwise known as 'PRIMO' on these forums. He was real easy to deal with.
  17. Well, the decisions has been made. After alot tooing and froing from 32 or 33 GTR I have decided on the 33. On Friday a Grade 4.5 R33 GTR Vspec came up and it is now mine! Just got to wait for its arrival now (how painful), the next available ship leaves on the 16th Jan and arrives on the 28th Jan. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...tachmentid=9550 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...tachmentid=9551 I only have the auction pics at the moment, should be getting more by the end of the week when it has been transported for the auction yard. Its stock, bar the exhaust, which as you can see is aftermarket. Can't wait to drive it!!!!
  18. Yep, it happened on Friday. A Grade 4.5 96 R33 GTR V-spec came up at a Japan auction, had the VIN checked out to ensure it is a genuine V-spec, and now it is mine. Now I just have to wait for its arrival. The next available ship leaves Japan on the 16th of January and arrive at Brisbane on the 28th of January. So if everything goes to plan I should be driving it buy early-mid Feb!!!!! How hard is the wait going the be! Can't wait! I only have the auction pics at the moment but should have more sent to me by the end of the week. It is stock, bar the exhaust. I really wanted a 97+ GTR to get the Xenon lights and other upgrades but this one was too good to pass up.
  19. Nice pics guys, the gallery is starting to look pretty good, a nice mix of cars so far.
  20. I know it was a little while ago now but the last Mountain cruise had an excellent turnout and the skid pan day was awesome! I just would have thought leading up to Chirstmas/New year would be a bad time as people are usually very busy. I know I am.
  21. Just reposted mine, hope persistence counts!
  22. Getting a nice group of vehicles up, if only they will stay there untouched.
  23. Well, I give up. My album has been deleted by someone along with Shane's album and Nexus9's album. And Chucky's had the album name changed. I won't be reposting anything there again, what's the point?
  24. I have an O2 Rush race pod on mine and its pretty loud. When the car is coming towards you at full throttle, all you can hear is the induction noise over everything else.
  25. Gallery is back. We shall see how long it lasts this time.
