  1. I am thinking about it. The QLD mini car club I was in, used to go there a bit, just depends on whether I am going out on Saturday night. Got a mate going to England for 12 months and I am sure he said the party was this weekend. If it isn't I will come along. I will find out tomorrow.
  2. I am keen on the willowbank idea there qikr33. Got rained out tonight, very disappointed. Need to get out there again soon. You will have to come on a cruise moggy, keen to have a look.
  3. Yeah, I have been looking at that s15 too, looks like a drift special straight from Japan. Hey Moggy, whats the finish like on that bonnet, I have been looking at those bonnets on there website for a while now. Which one did you get? Last time I was at their shop they were pushing hard for me to get one but, no money and didn't fancy carring one home on the plane! They look very nice though.
  4. Don't think so, I was heading inbound about 6:30ish, but I exited at the Moggil Rd exit. Can't remember seeing any other lines???
  5. Hey Zoix, I thought I was the only one I knew who had been done for that! I believe the charge is "driving a car in a manner which causes undue noise". No points is good but the fine sux. I remember reelling when they told me they were letting me off lightly, $240 is not light to me. Bad luck.
  6. I recently put 4000 series dba slotted rotors on mine with new pads and the rears still have the loudest, most annoying squeak/squeal. You would never have guessed that I had just spent a grand on the brakes. It sounds like I have no meat left on the pads at all, it is really starting to bug me. I am going to try some anit squeal stuff soon.
  7. Nothing wrong with the line, I am just stuck at Caboolture at my parents with no ride. I might get the Gem back tomorrow. I am so bored!
  8. I would have been in for something tonight but I think the Gemini van has just blown the headgasket. The engine has only done 800km, smells of someone not tensioning the head down properly. So I have the cruise up to Caboolture (what a great place) and have words with my engine rebuilder. Would much rather cruise around in the Skyline though! Maybe next time
  9. Think I saw the same yellow R34 GTR today heading north on the Centenary Motorway just past the Moggil Rd exit at 11:50. So very nice
  10. I saw a yellow R34 GTR today near Clayfield heading outbound on Sandgate Rd at about 4:40pm. Those cars are pure porn, had a real nice note too. Anyone going to own up to that one?
  11. Saw a nice blue 33 GTR near Indooroopilly Rd on Tuesday. Never seen a blue one before.
  12. Yeah I got my 4000 series through the group buy. They are a nice looking slotted rotor. I have put new bendix ultimates with them. Can't wait to test them on the track. Next track day is not till August though so I will have to wait. They do look very cool though.
  13. Pineapples should stop or significantly reduce axle tramp.
  14. Finally got my right and left rotors for the rear on Monday and as luck would have it I had an early day care of the wet conditions so I got to fit them today. So now I have the dba 4000 series slotted rotors front and rear. Very cool. I have put the bendix ultimates front and rear as I said before I was running out of money so they were a cheaper option. No performance complaints yet, but then I have been bedding them in so no real chance to test them out. But I will say they are the dustiest pad by far that I have ever used. Not happy about that.
  15. Mine had lowered springs when I got it, but the standard shocks were pretty ordinary. I would do the shocks, just because if they are standard ones, chances are they are the original one and with their age they are probably pretty tired. But if you are doing things in steps like I did, definately get the adj. sway bars first. They will probably give you the most improvement from a street perspective. I would do front and back as this will allow you to adjust car balance. Whiteline had there demo car set on the stiffest setting at the front for cornering and the middle setting for the rear for grip exiting corners for the circuit test comparison in the HPI story. I will give you the flexibility to set the car the way you like it.
  16. Sorry to here Bryan. There are no words that can expalin how bad that is. The worst I have had was a good old fashion egging from a bunch of yobbos in a Falcon. They were so tuff that by the time a realised what had happened and pulled a big hand brake turn, the big tuff boys were gone. Its such a gutless act to vandalise someones ride. It all come from envy! Hope your luck improves Cheers Jason
  17. I would be a little weary of Arespeed they do have a good rep which is why a mate of mine tooks his mr2 their to get kitted up. Their paint work was VERY ordinary. Took it back to give them another go at it and although better wasn't great. Got the car resprayed just recently and now it looks great, just a pity aresspeed couldn't get the paint right as the kit looks great.
  18. I have got the cold air box from UAS in mine and I was just wondering has anyone tried to modify the standard air scoop thing from the standard air box to fit their cold air box. I have seen people using them with their partitions just haven't seen one used with a box yet. I think if it could be done it would be good, save cutting a hole and would give it a "standard" look to avoid unwanted attention. Anyone given this a go? Sorry if someone has already posted this just go tired half way through the thread and skipped to the end. Its past my bed time!
  19. There is Optimax around Brisbane at the moment but it will run out again very shortly. Filled up at the Shell at Moggil Rd Taringa and the attendant was saying that they had a delivery on Friday of 22000L and were already down to 5000L and the truck driver that delivered on Friday said there wasn't going to be much around for a while yet. The attendant said he had been copping an ear full all week from annoyed optimax users. I wonder what the reason is for the shortage?
  20. Even though I have camber/caster kits on the front of mine and camber kits on the rear I probably wouldn't worry about that until you start messing around with the ride height, unless you are like me and like playing around with different settings. I would definately recommend getting the sway bars. The adjustable ones from whiteline are great value. I would get them followed by a good set of shocks and you corner speed will increase dramatically as long as your tyres are up to the task. I have Bilsteins all round on mine, very nice.
  21. I have full camber kits, caster rods on mine. I run 1.5 degrees of neg camber up front, one degree neg camber at the rear, 7.0/7.5 deg of caster for the front. I usually run 6.0/6.5 caster just dialled in a bit more this time to see the difference. I leave the toe settings up to the guys to work out. On the printout it has a total toe for the rear of +2.0mm and total toe for the front of +2.5mm. I love having the car completely kitted out as the alignment figures are always nearly exact and you can tweak things to see/feel the results. Its the first car that I have owned that doesn't vibrate at all no matter what the speed. Mine has been lowered about 20mm aswell.
  22. I am pretty sure it is the HICAS computer you speak of.
  23. I got a new Century battery for mine 3 weeks ago for $65 and comes with 3 yr warranty. If you know anyone with a multi-metre just hook it across your battery, engine off you should have about 12 volts any less and your battery is dead or dying, engine going with a few revs, should be about 14 volts, it not, your alternator is dead or dying. Apart from not charging your battery a dead alternator cannot do any other damage.
  24. Give up on band-aid fixes, just take it to someone who knows (ie a mechanic) before it cost big dollars. Could be any number of things, not worth taking the risk. Even if you only plan to keep the car for 6 months, if something big goes wrong between now and then, then you will be stuck with a broken car and be seriously out of pocket.
  25. Must sleep
