  10. I can now get the pleasure of going to bed and setting my alarm for 4.5hr time and do it all again.
  11. Yep, just finshed work
  12. Lets just be patient, lets see, my skyline is a 94 so in 21 years I will be able to register it under veteran rego for about $150 or around there. Sweet, can't wait! I should probably drive my line less, but lets face, I walk downstairs to go for a drive and I am face with a decision, Gemini......Skyline......Gemini.......Skyline. Its a no brainer! If I didn't work on rough, dusty construction sites, and work didn't require me to carry around survey gear, the Gem would be gone. By the same token I got the line cause I was sick of driving around in a dirty, S&$tty car all af the time. Might be time to go back to computers and one car, one rego, one insurance. Free ute! Thats nothing to laugh about, even if it is a Ford! Says he with a Gemini.
  13. Yeah, I have the Skyline and my trusty Gemini Panelvan for work to register, and I am really beginning to object to paying well over a grand just to register, lets not mention insurance. The mini is definately staying in the garage, or maybe I should sell it. That was my original intention when I bought the skyline, but nearly 2 years down the track I haven't been able to bring myself to do it. Its one of only 500 produced in Oz! Maybe I should get a different job so I can rid myself of the Gemini, or just resign to being broke, mmmm decisions. How much is it for an eight these days? I shudder to think.
  14. I honestly can't tell the difference between Optimax or Ultimate, I just have a little thing against BP as I know a couple of Chem. Engineers who have worked for them and I will leave it at that. Nothing wrong with the fuel BP supplies just I don't agree with a few of there other activities, its probably the same for Shell but I don't know about it. I have used Caltex Vortex before as an emergency, running low on my way to Sydney in the middle of nowhere, but fuel economy noticeably went down and I would be concerned with detonation being only 95-96 RON, compared with 98 RON Optimax, Ultimate. Considering these cars would really like to be on 100 RON fuel, I will stick with Optimax, Ultimate. Why so many against Optimax?
  15. You will find the standard shocks with uprated springs will tend to make the car bounce all over the place as the standard shocks aren't up to the task on dampening the stiffer springs. Thats what mine did, when I added the Bilsteins all round it was a totally different car, handles great now.
  16. Pillowball mounts for skylines don't have any camber or caster adjustment like the silvia ones. You would need the kits.
  17. I just got my registration renewal today, it is now risen to the lofty heights of $682.95 for the 12 months. I am quite certain that nearly every year since I got my license and car in 94 that rego has gone up by $50 a year. It has risen $48.20 since last year! And to think I used to complain about paying $320 a year to have my little 1000cc mini on the road. Looks like my other mini shall be spending more time in the olds garage as I can't afford to register it aswell unless I put it under Veteran rego and all the restrictions that go with it. Time to get serious on personal injury claims, no more whiplash claims for reverse parking incidents! Sorry about that rant, just needed to have a whinge.
  18. Has anyone else noticed there is currently alot of Shell servos around Brisbane that have no Optimax at the moment? It has been like this for at least a week, maybe more. I talked to one of the attendants and he seemed to think there was some sort of shortage and that there wouldn't be any meaningful deliveries for a little while yet. A couple of servos were getting special deliveries from NSW but that was it. Can anyone shed any more light on this? Its BP Ultimate for me in the mean time.
  19. Dude, go see a radiator specialist and get your system flushed and pressure tested. It is very uncool to overheat an alloy head. Sorry I can't recommend anyone though, but it will be worth the money to ensure you don't overheat again or at least to know what the problem is. It could be much more costly otherwise.
  20. A small pic of the rear Cusco OS Strut bar for a 33
  21. That looks similiar to the Front Cusco Strut brace, except the Cusco has the blue ends. The rear ends look a little different. I got mine second hand from Just Jap and it slipped staight on, it was almost too easy. Just had to modify the boot lining on the back to allow the bar to go through. Took 5 careful minutes with a pair of sharp scissors. Just as Pva_Glue said you should find the little studs with rubber covers behind the boot lining on the side of the strut towers. There is a pic of my boot in this thread near the bottom, give you an idea of what it looks like. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=15486
  22. I have the Cusco OS on mine.
  23. I am keen for the 9th. Any Brissie based people keen to cruise out as well?
  24. Try here. Good thread on how to get Dual High beam! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...=dual+high+beam
  25. I have a HKS type 1 turbo timer with my alarm/immobiliser and they work fine together. I didn't do the wiring myself but I know it has been done via a relay, so when you turn the key off the alarm recognise that and the engine keep running off the turbo timer. There are no security issues because you are not bypassing anything just separating the two devices with the relay. I have heard that some alarms either have provision for a timer, or inbuilt timers. If not it can be done via a relay as mine has been done. Sorry I can't tell you exactly how the wiring is done, as I got it done by the guy who did my stereo install. I had been told by a few people that it couldn't be done also till I came across this guy. He just said alot of guys aren't aware how its done because it isn't that common, and that most guys that do these installs aren't true auto electricans. Dunno how much truth there is in that, all I know is that mine now works and I can't fault any of the work he did. It is all quality, tidy work.
