  1. You would think Jim would give a Skyline a go anyway, after having such a close association with nissan during the Group A years. I wonder what Jim could do if he was back in a GTR?
  2. I have had the same problem, some people say you can, others say you definitely can't. Although the other day when getting some quotes for new front shocks they needed to know whether it was a GTST or GTR as they said they were different.
  3. I agree the guys at Toombul Bob Jane, so far, I have found excellent to deal with. Just installed my new gearstick boot from JAY95R33 yesterday and it looks pretty good, just got to do the handbrake now. If anyone has crappy boots I recommend PM ing for the next batch. Definitely good value! Nothing like the smell of real leather!
  4. The whiteline camber kit for the front of my 33 cost me $156ish I think, and about 2hrs of my time. 1.5 hrs for the first one and then half an hour for the next once I knew how to do it. Followed by a wheel alighnment of course. The rear is about the same only easier to fit. Not a big expense when compared to tires, and if you plan to do a bit a track work you can dial in a bit of camber on the Friday and get it corrected on the Monday after. Thats my plan anyway!
  5. I installed a HKS type 1 timer on my car a few months ago so if you need any help I should be able to give you a hand. It is pretty easy and I have a spare HKS harness for a 33 if you need it. Shouldn't take too long at all. Which timer is it? Does it have an automatic function? Never done a boost guage before though.
  6. A line should always beat a type R over the 1/4. The type R game is 0 to 100. Type Rs being N/A are easier to get consistant launches and with the old type Rs being good for high 5s in the 0-100 race beware the type R at the lights! No one want to be beaten by a N/A 4! 0-60km/h or 0-100km/h they are a tuff competitor. On the highway though the skyline will eat it without a problem.
  7. Tuesday, yes what a great day that will be, pity I then have to wait for them to get up to Brissie, Hopefully should be here before next weekend. I know what I will be doing next weekend though!
  8. Its really hard to get a good pic of the rear shelf. The pics don't do it justice, there is just no room to take a good pic!
  9. Last, but not least the boot.
  10. With flash, totally different effect
  11. Grill off without flash, love my infinity 6x9s
  12. Rear grill on the left
  13. Rear shelf grill on on the right
  14. front passenger door
  15. Just thought I would post a few pic of the install, might give a few people ideas. I wanted something that looked as factory as possible and I think I have achieved that. Mind you if I add a sub later on that will change. I have pics of the HU&EQ mount. The factory front door fittings, the custom rear shelf, with grill on and off, and the boot showing the stacker in the factory spot and the amp hidden away behind the trim. Quite a tidy result.
  16. Mate of mine has an imported Civic Type R with spoon manifolds and stuff. Quite quick for a little N/A 4cyl. Sounds fantastic as you blow past 8000rpm!
  17. Very useful, the site is very easy to use also!
  18. Let us know what you think of that mounting position after you have driven at night. I find mine a little bright. It isn't to bad around town because of all of the outside light/street light etc, but if you go for a cruise one night that little blue face can get a little bit annoying. I usually switch it off as the Auto function seems to keep working even though the screen is switched off. Just got to remember to turn it on again before you stop. At the back of the instrument cluster mine has two plugs, and from there there is a series of tracks which lead off to their various functions, some off which are labeled, much like a computer board, just no where near as fine! You can follow the track from the speedo/tacho contacts to the different pins for the plug and from there determine the wire colour. Jason
  19. Where have you mounted yours? I have mine on top of the steering column, not sure if I am happy with it there though. If you want a quick check when you identify which wire the tacho out and speedo out are, take the instrument cluster out and follow the tracks to the speedo and tacho. With a bit of luck you should find the same colour wires at that plug as you saw at the ECU. Thats what I did anyway, I get a bit nervous when playing with the loom from the ECU. If you hook in up there you don't have to run the wires very far either! Cow in Toombul, very nice! Wasn't on Sangate road was it?
  20. Placed my order today! Those who are doing the freight option you will have to fax Kevin a few details. Drivers licence details, credit card no., Name and address and what you want. Fax number is 02 9673 6681. I have ordered front and rears for my 33
  21. It is on the UAS site under : Parts and Accessories, Go to search by vehicle and click on Skyline, then go to exhaust systems and scroll down. The NonTurbulence Dump/front pipe in one, is $695 in Mild Steel and $850 HPC coated. BD4s is $750 in Mild steel and $890 for HPC coated.
  22. I hooked into the handbrake switch staight off the handbrake. If you pull the centre console off the should be a little switch at the bottom of the handbrake lever. At least there was on the 33. Can't help you with the pin numbers for the speed and tacho out off the 32 ECU though.
  23. I installed my Type 1 timer a while ago on my 33 with the harness. The only thing the harness did for me was hook up the ignition. You still had to find and connect to the park-brake switch and locate the speedo out and tacho out from the ECU and hook into them. Hope that helps PS Try and locate a 32 ECU pinout diagram, it will help no end.
  24. The only thing I bought new was the stacker. Everything else is old. The Kappa speakers I bought in 96 the CD/EQ in 95 and the amp in 97. I haven't had a problem with the Infinity speakers. They are in their 4th car now and still look as good (and sound as good) as the day I bought them. I did hear that the build quality on the Infinity speaker went down though, not really sure what they are like at the moment. I got mine from the states as a friend of mine went over and bought them back for me. Can't remember exactly how much they were then but I do remember saving a packet. Install is great though. The shelf is ****ing fantastic, well worth the money. If I can work out a way to take a pic I shall post it. Not a whole lot of room to take a decent pic and the tint is too dark to take a pic through the glass. Sounds nice but I think I will be on the search for a sub. That was my first thought, "sounds good but imagine it with a Sub!". Bit dissapointed with the front splits as I mounted them in the factory spots and the sound image is pretty ordinary. The tweeter and woofer are just too far apart. I will have to think about that one. The guys at the shop were trying to sell me an eclipse sub. Never heard of them before now. They looked pretty wicked. Anyone had any experience with these? They even wired up my HKS type 1 turbo timer so the alarm will now arm even when the timer is in action. Very cool!
  25. Sweet, I am going to place the call to order on Monday!
