Well I havent been able to source an RB25 gearbox yet. Only one i have found, they are asking $1700....... + $2600 engine + metal headgasket +PFC + labour costs + tune = too much, cant afford it right now So I have decided to put that engine swap on hold for a while until I get some money togheter, and get the box rebuilt or get another RB20 box. Having said that, where would be a good place to take the box to get it checked? someone that knows this boxes of course... has anyone done this before? Cheers Ric

RB20 Gearbox Must be 5 sp manual Must be in VGC Must be cheap Dont need the flywheel or the clutch just the box. Needed urgently Cheers

hey man that seems like a pretty good price there. Cause an engine with gearbox package is around the 4g.

Dont forget the KAAZ, most people are using them for drift including myself, they are good and cheaper.

^^^ yes im going 25 box. The box is what I need to change in the first place cause its ficked.... engine is strong as, but I though id do both things at the same time and get it out of the way, looking for more power now

How much modification to things like gearbox mounts and engine mounts is required for this swap? I had a guy tell me today there was some needed as well as tailshaft modification. I was thinking in giving it a go myself but time is whats stopping me, I need the car on the road, I might be able to pull the 20 myself, cause I have a fair few people interested in buying it anyway, maybe rent one of those cranes to do it and then itd be just a matter of chucking the 25 in, hmm it all sounds so so easy on paper Luke, I spoke to David on the phone if that helps, I dont see them dropping the price too much but hey its worth a try, Cheers guys Ric

I finally got a chance to download all the footage of the camera Wherever you guys took this one from, its an awesome shot, a bit different than the rest of the videos going around.

hey Flick..Nah Im in Unley now, so its not too bad. How far north is this? PM me details if you can, sounds good. What sort of tools are needed for something like this? I have just the usual, not sure thats going to be enough. Engine cranes are not too expensive these days anyway, so that shouldnt be a problem. And I need to swap the loom, do I? stuff like wiring is what scares me Other thing is the time that i would need to do somthing like this, G1 is coming in 4 weeks, ideally would be to have it ready in 2 weeks just in case. Im planning to put an RB25 on my R32, still trying to source a good engine, but in the meantime I thought Id ask whereI can get this done. Im sure plenty of you guys have done the same in the past, so please point me in the right direction, I got quoted so far $2500 just in labour at a well known workshop, which I thought it was I bit steep. I personally run 32 psi on them, and seems to work for me.

hahaha are you for real dude? You cant compare the V1 with the Z1, the V1 is way inferior, the price also should give you an idea. Anyway, Simon im running the Z1s at the front, I find them to do a good job for the price you pay for them, I use to run T1Rs and they were just a bit more grippy but at the same time way more expensive and a bit softer compound which means will wear out quicker. Yes, it was an awesome day! perfect weather, lots of runs, couldn't ask for more. Right at the end (about 4ish) on the entry to turn 1, my gearbox went bang! I was left with only 5th gear and had to drive like that back home. Funny thing is that after a while I could use 3rd and 4th gear as well, so lucky for the drive back to Adelaide. Now looking for a 25 box, if anyone has one laying around let me know. Big thanks to Flick for recruiting a camera man (girl actually) at the last minute, whose name escapes me right now, thanks to her too, havent had a chance to have a proper look at the footage but looks good so far. Luke, I saw a few nice tandems runs with the other white 31, looking good mate. Cheers Ric

I couldnt agree more, but dont go thinking that cause you are in the hills is all good bud. At the end of the day dude if you want to drive your car to its limits perhaps you should start thinking in going to the track. Me personally I dont do hills runs on the weekends cause its just plain stupid, way too many cops out there! Cheers Ric
