  1. Yeah but you're on PS3, there are no hardcore players.
  2. I am way behind where I should be after my internets were crippled for the last week. Just got fixed last night. Good to seee everyone is as shit as ever. I had one guy on my team playing TDM die 7 times in the first minute on firing range, no shit.
  3. No, there is no way for Sony to patch the actual problem. It's not a way to run unsigned code, that is just one consequence of the real issue. The way Sony signs code is fatally flawed and has been reverse engineered without ever being hacked, the primary key was simply calculated due to a mathematical error on Sony's part. So unlike the 360 and Wii which must be modified the PS3 will just run any code that has been signed because as far as it knows Sony has signed it no matter what it is. It's the eisiest of all 'hacks' to use for any console. The other thing is that no amount of firmware updates can fix it because the PS3 has to be able to read the update meaning anyone can read the update, modify the new firmware and continue on with whatever software they like. This is the total destruction of Sony's ability to control what is run on a PS3 (and PSP) and under Australian / British and US law it's perfectly legal. The EULA will not be tested in court because it would fail and Sony know it. Pirated GT5 etc has already been shown to work on previous firmware.
  4. I don't see how anyone can play an FPS online where someone in the game is the host. It's a rediculous advantage.
  5. Regular BC2 or Nam?
  6. umad bro?
  7. This thread actually took longer to get creepy than I thought it would.
  8. There is no mod required.
  9. And who could auto-prestige to 15? - Console My kdr is around 1.95 overall which is pretty sad but was always going to happen being able to prestige and always switching weapons / perks / being stupid and trying to complete pro perks when they are just going to reset again. CoD4 I was more around 1.8+ for my all gold profile and 2.5+ for my 50 in under 24h profile.
  10. Wall hacking is where you use a third party program or edit the existing program to show enemies through walls like xray vision or with markers. Unfortunately for me a lot of people don't seem to know how to use the minimap and as previously mentioned have the situational awareness of a vegetable. maybe I just have the situational awareness of a demi-god without the twitch skill to match, you decide. This leads to me spotting them and taking a different route, coming back after being killed whatever, to lob a grenade or shoot them through a wall/fence. They then rage that this could only be due to cheating because they are the best player they know and totally never camp or anything. Mostly it's harmless faggots that just leave the server after a few cunt filled messages (I have voice off). Sometimes though clans/guilds/whatever they want to call themselves let somewhat, how do I put this, retarded people have the admin login and when they rage a ban inevitably follows. A PC player should view my #2 shared file and tell me if I was walling, the guy that banned me was winning until I joined.
  11. I don't have friends only enemies I tolerate.
  12. But they are all about maturity and fair play...I should show them some maturity and ddos their server. Seriously, I go 17-0 at the start end up 22-2 on a server on the same map (Launch) and no one says a word. 9-1 on AoG and zomg wall hax *tears*.
  13. Apparently Academy of Gamers is full of 12yo, I was on their server for 5 minutes and got banned for apparently wall hacking. The guy was so mad he couldn't spell 'bye'.
  14. Delusional. Forza 2005, Forza 2 2007, Forza 3 2009. Two years is quantity over quality? I think that's just being able to finish a project. Some of the BS I have seen people spout about Forza 3 it's just mind dumbing, either they have such a huge hardon for GT5 it gets in the way of them playing Forza 3 or they've just never played it.
  15. That was kinda the point, the EULA is worthless. Sony will only go to court when they think they can get someone on IP, copyright, something that can be demonstrated as depriving them of business they would otherwise have in an illegal manner and more importantly not test the EULA in court. The thing is a EULA that only stated what you are not legally allowed to do with a PS3 is about as usefull as a EULA on a hammer. TOS on an online service make sense though.
  16. It's true, it's been approved many times over but I can't help but think about the many products that have been approved over the years that turn out to really be not so much safe just profitable. Like Monsanto says cotton seed oil is safe, almost, but still contains Gossypol. It's also almost impossible to keep track of your intake because it doesn't have to be specifically listed as an ingredient and does not have to be listed as a GM product as it is not under the 'food crop' category. 20L buckets of the stuff get delivered to cafes and restaurants because it's cheap, clear, tasteless and odorless. We've known since the 1920s that Gossypol can do terrible things to you (temporary paralasys, sterility) but where are the warnings?
  17. It's sad that I still remember the layout for both of those maps. Still not playing FU
  18. You guys are assuming a lot of 'rights' that Sony simply does not have. One of which is removing features from an existing product forcibly. Basically you had to choose between keeping a feature you bought the PS3 with or losing the ability to play online, ever. FYI the EULA has never been tested in court do you know why? Because they have no bases in the law and segments actually contradict Australian / US / British law. Besides the fact that they are marketed to minors, minors can buy them but cannot enter into a legally binding contract. It's like Nissan coming out and saying they are going to remove launch control on all R35s. You can keep it but if you do you can never change the oil again. Or Miele coming out and disabling the drying on a washer dryer and when you kick up a stink they say 'fine, you can keep the dryer but we will weld the door shut'. It just doesn't make sense. Then there is the crying over the PS3 code signing, if someone does something like that for software on PC / Mac / Linux they are patted on the back for finding a vulnerability and exposing it when it's not repaired in a reasonable amount of time. Microsoft and ro Apple don't then take them (often security firms) to court. They might be irritated but it's essentially a fault in their product.
  19. The PS3's security was not hacked, it's a design flaw in the system which was only exposed after Sony removed funtions they had used to advertise the PS3 in the first place.
  20. Not trolling GT5 and or PS3. This is totally router dependant. You might need to exclude the PS3 IP and or MAC address. You might need to put the PS3 in the routers DMZ. There are a number of options, some routers simply won't have these options and you'd just have to disable to firewall completely.
  21. How does this get -1, Craig might be a fat jerk but he doesn't deserve this kind of treatment.
  22. Because a car racing game where the developer release a way to start races when you're not there must be jam packed with racing excitement.
  23. Your time doesn't count if you use a rewind or cut a corner or draft someone etc etc and all your lap times are on the internets or live-nets or whatever. You can't compare an exclusive, it's exclusive. You might as well compare OpenGL ES to DirectX 9.0 or rather the modified forms the PS3 and 360 use. You know what else uses OpenGL ES? Phones. Maybe Brink will help you when it's released as apparently it has had the PC, 360 and PS3 developed seperately. "I especially like the work I'm doing on the 360, and it's probably the best graphics API as far as a sensibly designed thing that I've worked with." - John Carmack, 2007
  24. and we've seen the repeated errors in the GT5 thread. My brother and my boss both have gen 1 360s, never had an error. My brothers has had a hard life in dusty and dog hair filled environments and infrequent updates. The only RROD I have had personal experience with was an xbox 360 that was used on a 40C day with shit piled on it, replaced by Microsoft, we told the guy it'd overheat.
