That's where its cheaper for the 1J, bottom end is bullet proof unlike the Rb25 over @ 300RwKw, 1J injectors good for @250 RwKw - Rb25 runout by 200Rwkw, the manual toyota box is a bit how ya going shift wise (R154) but plenty around behind 2J cars so definately strong enough. Dump pipes for the factory twins are a challenge, but I made 2 x 2.5" ones for my Cressida and got them to fit around the steering, so it is all doable. 1J for the win, they are a great motor.

If you ring them you can buy single sheets from their dealers and they are cheaper than ACL, I actually know because I have actually bought some (unlike yourself it seems) which is why I suggested it!!!

http://www.dci.com.au/ Ring these guys for a dealer to buy from, they are OE suppliers to Holden for heatshield etc and are cheaper than ACL (who coincidently have gone bust according to media today!) Tim

Zoom Magazine did this years ago with a HKS 2535 turdbo on RB20, in the end they went back to the standard RB20 plenum. I would spend my money elsewhere.

What 2do With This Prick Possible Forum Member

Should have REVS (Register of Encumbered Vehicles) checked it bud. If he has signed a document stating he will give your money back I would seek legal advice and have a solicitor write a letter of demand for your money back, may not be enforceable if he denies signing it, but a legal letter will soon let you see if he is a proper shonk or not. If he tells you to piss off then he has probably done it before and knows just as much about the law and how to get away with this type of rip off than your solicitor. Also, not a good idea to say on a public forum that a police officer has given you this guys current address, they can get in serious trouble for doing you a favour like that. Good luck with it. -
The old world Geisha district in Kyoto was fantastic as was Himeji castle, what a view from the top (not made for over 6 foot Aussies though, so mind your head!) I will have to go to Hiroshima next time as well, worth a look or not? what about the West coast of Japan, you don't hear much about it.

If you want to ultimately go the fastest round a race track 18" will be the way to go, admittedly it looks a bit wierd (well quite a bit weird) but the tyre technology in 18" race type tyres is way ahead of 19" or 20" ones currently. That is going to change in the next couple of years though as more 19/20" technology catches up (as well as the demand for them). Given how fast Haltech and others have gone on 20" road tyres you would need to be a gun driver to get the most out of an 18" wheel/slick tyre upgrade in any case.

Hey Richard, great write up and photos. I actually went to Japan last October with the family and after reading this had to have a Mos burger (not at Shinjuku tho) while there just to say I've tasted one. I loved Japan and the people, my son is going back on exchange later this year, I may have to go again after the memories came flooding back. Thanks for inspiring me and others to go. Tim

Caution : Buying New Wheels
seamonsta replied to Overbooost's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If you have to have spacers then i can recommend Neales wheels at South Strathfield in Sydney to make good ones to suit the wheel and car with the right centre bore step etc. Yes they are still technically illegal but Neales always do a top job that is safe. BTW race cars have in the past used spacers with no problems at all, so although technically illegal if done properly and there should be no reason to fear for your life, doesn't beat getting the offset right to start with though. -
Toshi on this forum can also do the R33 chip and he is at North Ryde in Sydney, PM him for prices etc, I had my R32 chipped - best mod I have done and Toshi is a good bloke to boot!

Hey Buddy, you have PM, I am interested, also in Hills of Sydney, ring me 0422 782 291 Regards Tim

If you are after some airbox lid fasteners than try Dzus ones from Sportsbike in Victoria, these are used on most motorcycle fibreglass and Carbon race fairings, easy to use and pop riveted on (the base that is) heres a link. http://www.sportsbike.com.au/accessories_dzus_fasteners.html

Go the 1J, just put one in my bro's Cressida, what a weapon, boost is just about instant even with the Auto, i was suitably impressed (well I would be considering I have the no torque RB20 to live with).

I was told the same thing by the RTA in NSW as sigsputnick, write down exactly where you are going from and to for inspection etc as it is near on impossible for the Police to dispute ( unless you were doing something wrong of course). Also, why would you ask for advice like this on a forum when the NSW RTA website has the facts, as opposed to someones opinion...like mine..?

I think you mean the compressor outlet elbow, RB20 one has slightly smaller casting than RB25, you can make it fit by slotting the 3 bolt holes and porting the ID of the RB20 one, works OK.

Tribute To A Lost Friend - A True Skyline Enthusiast.

I also agree with GTST, while lamenting the loss of his friend yesterday he is out racing on public roads doing the exact same thing that cost his friends life. Get off the road before you kill someone moron! -
Make sure the crank angle sensor plug is all the way home, 3 of us spent 1 hour checking everything on my car only to find this plug was not all the way home, once sorted went first go.
