Hmm... I really have to do something about my info on www.garagespank.tk it's just that the plans for it are nothing like what I was going to do to it a couple of months ago... Although atleast it does have a T28 on it... to bad it isn't a S15 turbo... but it still a big upgrade from the CA turbo that was on it...

It would be awsome to change the cruise from Yeppoon to Gladstone... would anyone be interested in going to Gladdy instead for this Motokhana... it would be interesting... although it is tuff finding enough fuel to get there and back... tell me what you all think?? or does it stay as a beach run?? Rick do you reckon you could organise the beach boys for a cruise to Gladrock??

on a cooler note... I got me some number plates... got 80stn sorta like Boostn... but not... hope it looks good on the car... maybe somebody will think I come from Boston...

In the conversation about turboing a non-turbo... well it is my opinion that it works very well in alot of cases... If you run too much boost in any car you will destroy it... however in most cases with non turbos a bit of smart tuning and sensible boost levels will result in excellent performance for the price... As a mechanic (sportif) I thought you would realise that a turbo car relys on enthripy... if it is efficient with good tuning a turbo motor will last for years... Come and have a ride and look at mine... I promise you it works... to the tune of a 13 second pass... no problems... it has been together for 8mths now and other than breaking a waterpump it has been perfect... as josh says go and talk to russell mason and ask him what exactly he has done to the internals of his Petrol Nissan Patrol... it is a non turbo motor making 300 rwhp... and it has now been doing that for 3 years... no dramas... I really enjoy the challange of doing something that "guru's" say that you can't do... and this is one thing that us Spankers have mastered... turboing non-turbos is a speciality that we like... again come talk to us... we've actually done it... not just said that "it doesn't work"... but what would I know... I'm not a mechanic...

Hmmm... oh well Hey and that chatting to me about prices is for real too... and open to anyone because I can tell you exactly what it takes to build a 13 sec car for a $2000 mods budget..... it would be even easier if you started with a turbo...

hey holdens... you emailed me about my opinion on Silvias well I think they are cool... they are a really well balanced car and have an excellent engine (SR20) that can be easily modified for alot of performance... actually I was just adding it up with a mate today about what I had spent on it... It was alot less than most people think... actually it came in under $2000 for motor mods to get me running a 13.7 @ 101mph recorded at Benaraby... In my opinion that is a quick little toy for relativly little outlay... and mine was a Non-turbo when I purchased it... so I had to upgrade injectors and buy a manifold in that price... so if you bought a turbo I think a 13 with $2000 of mods would be a walk in the park... they already have good brakes... although a nice suspension kit goes along way to their looks... really though it comes down to what you like the look of... Both Skylines and Silvias are excellent cars both to drive and as a starting ground for a project...

Just make a decision what you want before you go looking otherwise you will come away probably confused and with something that you don't really want... and there is nothing worse than having a crapper that you didn't really want to start off with...

That car is a great example of useing quality Aussie bits and making it go on a well though out budget... He built most of the car himself using common tools around the workshop including his Hi-mount steam pipe manifold... he bought a To4 and a microtech... tuned it well using a truck core intercooler... really it is just some good planning and good tuning that has got it this far... It just goes to show too that sometimes the cheap way isn't always the dogey way...

Hey I am still keen to see if anyone is running at the drags... Rick... what do you reckon think it is the right nice cool weather to run some good times... it is definatly turbo weather at the moment... although a night meet would be awsome at the moment... I think Sciby should think about entering the Scibyline... we should see what the 2.5 can do before hitting it up with a torque monsta 3 ltr... Dev... I don't even have to try to talk you into it... Hopefully my mate with the fully sik SR Stanza should be there... it is getting so quick it's almost sickening... and for the price... ouch... definatly a budget beater... Seen the spotties infront of the intercooler... how much more of a sleeper could you get!!

although that is something I could see you saying... umm well maybe not...

the moral of the story is to look around... and maybe try to get what you really want straight up so you aren't wasting money on the wrong car... anyway there are always heaps of options... and always look at all options before making a final decision... have fun guys stay safe don't let the drift bug bite...

If you have 7-8 grand I would save just a few more bucks and get something like that... It would kick a SSS or Silvias butt anyday... and then all you need is a few tiny mods like a VG30 Turbo and a Hybrid intercooler ( now those we can help you find) and tunable engine managment and you are running 13's all day come rain hail or shine... and although some might laugh at a genuine 13 sec street car... see what around gladstone can beat it in a run from the lights... there is nothing like the traction of a 4 wheel drive to get you moving quickly on the street... I bet you would put many 12 sec 2 wheel drive cars to shame due to the fact that their times are run on slicks... you don't need them... only problem is that there will be no Dorifto in your life... and that is a shame... So if Skylines and Drag racing is your thing... don't buy a car in the middle... just go and buy it... they are getting good prices at the moment...

At the moment the car I'm thinking that you might like is a GTS-4 R32 in Wine Red... it has a few minor mods but is very close to standard engine wise... which is a good sign as it hasn't had the crap flogged out of it... and the best part is you get a turbo 5-speed with 4 wheel drive for 8,400 plus ORC... now that is good buying... and it is the perfect base for a really really hardcore performance vehicle... or just a cruise car to beat your mates Hyundai... no matter what the weather conditions...

hey holdens_r_better A really good place to find good quality imports is through www.prestigemotorsport.com.au and why don't you just get your skyline straight up... there are some good used examples on there... particularly R32's that come under the 15 yrs import rule... So once again I am calling all Import heads in Central Queensland to come for a Supercruise at the above location on Sunday 5/8/03 from Rocky to Yeppoon and back again... via some import friendly roads... all cars and people welcome...

Last weekend we had a good cruise... although only just a few close mates and not well advertised we had a good collection of cars... Including a 33 GTR, A31 Cefiro, VR Clubsport, a brand new (read: days old) Commodore R8 and of course the dirty "Q with Boost"... we were then joined by a few others down in Yeppoon including Rick with his GTR, jeremy and jamien with there FJ20 Bluebird... Jeffro's GTS-4 and a mixture of Kaos R32's... It was really fun and again it is welcome to all... preferably instead of meeting up at the beach we should all cruise down together...
