Hey guys just a little bit of a chit chat area for all the CQ and beyond guys to chat (nicely) about all forms of performance... everyone is welcome to comment and all are welcome to bring up current events and pressing issues... Welcome again and I hope you enjoy
-
Yeah... there will be a crew from Rocky definatly interested... especially FWDriftKing... now that he isn't going to be driving a front wheel drive!!! And I'll be there hopefully... if my Pig doesn't destroy itself by then...
-
yeah... guys top work allround... I might have the guts to get the Q out and give her a thrash next time!!!
-
thanks for keeping it moving slip.... we are still keen to come down and thrash our cars.... however seeing that there was a small group of us that came to the SR20 Day on the 30th... we are super keen for that too.... keep us posted.... I think the whole Garage Spank Krew should just up and move to Brissy....
-
hey guys... we made the trek down from rocky for the club sprints and the drift day... and it was worth every cent..... IT WAS AWSOME MRE... you got some skills.... that skyline was slideways.... Amazing.... and the autoshop onevia was never straight.... and never not smoking the wheels... VERY IMPRESIVE... everyone out there was doing a great job.... we'll be down next time with a crew from rocky.... including atleast two cars for the drift.... AWSOME....
-
yeah... it is definatly worth looking into... atleast so someone can say that they did the research and can point someone wanting to do the hard yards in the right direction.... my mate that had that big idea for his 32 just threw it out the window... he just bought a complete RB30 with 25 head to slip into the place of the tired RB20.... it should be awsome... it has all the bits... like forged pistons and cams.... big turbo.... could run 11's or 10's well tuned.... it's good to see that there is still some crazy young (and old) australians giving this import stuff a good go.... anyway.... I actually came to this thread to see if anyone had anymore info on the Skid pan day.... come on I am desperate for some dorift.... all us Central Queensland Drift Nuts are going ..... well.... nuts.... Slip get back to us.... or I guess we'll see you down at the sprints and drift day at QLD raceway on the 28th and 30th.... see you all then....
-
hey revhead... i hear that you can put all the GTS-4 running gear into a gts-t a mate was really keen to do it up here... he said that it was going to be simple ... but I didn't believe him.... and he still hasn't got around to doing it.... but yeah... he was talking to a couple of the local wrecking yards around brissy and thought he could get away with it for about $4000.... it's worth looking into if you really want one... because while you've got it apart you can do a few mods while your there.... and atleast you know that if you do it yourself it's been done right.... when I got my car over from japan they told me that it had been regularly serviced blah blah blah..... however as I do all my own mechenical mods I had my sump off and suprise suprise it didn't look like it had had one service let alone regular services... I think the oil was growing!!!! but yeah... while you got it apart you can do the clutch and rebuild the box while your at it.... it's not as hard as everyone makes out rebuilding manuals to be.... just be neat and lay everything out in order... so it goes back together.... just then you know it's been done once and done properly.... would make an interesting build story.... it'd be interesting to see how common a build it would be if everyone found out that it was actually a straight forward swap?? hmmmm I don't think my piggy bank will permit...
-
So the 29th of march... club sprints.... the 30th drift day.... I'm so there.... and so will pete.... and if pete's coming I am sure we can talk jay into a trip down too.... see you all at the end of march....
-
hey bel garion..... 18's will definatly fit on your skyline.... I have a set of 18's on my silvia... and if they fit the r33's whale guards will definatly swallow them... actually mine are 18x8's with 235/40 series... which are a tallish tyre.... so if you wanted to go a smaller series it would be cool... however my ride quality didn't suffer at all going from 225/50/16's to 235/40/18's and I thought that was important.... but if you want to go 35 series... you'll romp it in.... actually I take that back... do you have coil over's in the front... new statement... as long as you have standard style shocks...(lowered springs don't matter) you will romp the 18's in.... and don't let anyone talk you into 17's NO they don't look the same.... yes 18's piss on 17's
-
hey guys.... just saying hi againg and wondering if the was any progress reports on the wet skid pan day.... I am keen but happy to wait too.... the more you wait the more new parts I get.... I got a set of JIC's coming and a microtech computer.... should be tops.... so anyway.... keep me informed I am keen for so legal action!!
-
hey slip the later in march it is the more chance there is of getting jay and pete down to the event.... the second is just way too close..... I am still really looking forward to thrashing my car.... should be tops...
-
the 29th is the saturday it is the day before the SR20 drift day at willowbank.... which would turn it into a double dorifto day for all us out of towners.... and a cruise on saturday night would top it all off...
-
well keep us posted... we are all super keen by the sounds of it... so it's your mission (should you choose to except) to promote the dorifto... anyway still letting you know I'm keen.... and if it's getting to late for early march the 29th is calling you slip... you know you want to .... (the 29th march)
-
oh well.... I will definatly be there.... so please don't knock me off the list... just the rest of the crew won't have their cars ready till the end of march... I'll come down twice.... so maybe we'll just have to organise a cruise saturday night which will be the 29th of March.... what do you think guys??? i'll try to get Jay excited about rebuilding the 180. we ripped it down the other day and although there is some dissagreement in the party.... I think we will just get away with a hone and a new piston... actually if you want to check out the photo's of jays piston check out the Wasteland... squizzmobile in hospital/Spank HQ and check out page 55... i think.... it's around there anyway... it did do a nasty job of destroying the piston.... anyway slip... it looks like it will be just my car in the skid pan day... and I am still really really really looking forward to it.... we'll still bring the crew down sometime... probably on the 29th if you can get some sort of cruise happening it would be awsome...
-
I am told it is at the end of march at willowbank raceway.... but please don't ditch your event because of it.... I really want to go to the wet day for the fun.... I don't like the idea of breaking my car in brissy and having to find a way home.... where as pete is totally hooked on the idea of destroying his new toy at the SR20 day..... go figure??!! anyway.... I found out about it because it is on the events callander of the raceway.... I think MRE should be able to hook you up with some dates... please try to organise them so they are the same weekend and there will definatly be some very excited rockhampton import boys cruising in brissy.... we would love to organise a saturday night cruise with you boys as well.... if we are going to be down there we better make it a huge weekend eh??? so if we can organise it all it would be tops.
-
hey slip... are we still waiting on a date.... can you try to make sure it doesn't clash with the SR20 day... actually... you should try to make it so that one day it's your wet skid day and the next it's the SR20 day.... just there is a huge crew coming from rocky and we are planning on coming down twice... but if it was at all possible that it could be just one weekend... it would be awsome... cause everyone would come from up here.... but yeah i understand it's all due to availability and maybe that means that some guys don't want to do both events so close together.... although from what I can make out MRE won't be scared... just pete wants to go to the dry day.... a whole heap of us want to go to the wet day and it would be a shame that most of us can't make both.... just see what you can do slip... thanks a heap....
-
We are going to video as much as we can.... pete (aka revlimiterboy) will be back down to dorifto the track one handed again.... and I am in training so definatly count two cars from rockhampton.... Jays is a bit of an issue... have three cylinders and all.... don't know if the water will get into the hole in his piston.... anyway.... we are definatly in... no questions asked.... and we'll have a support crew big enough to rebuild a motor if needed.... should be fun... Is it worth going to broadwater for a cruise after the meeting.... I reckon it would be definatly worth a look but I hear the cops are gnarly these days.... not that we want to play up or anything.... and yeah hopefully there will be heaps of good video action.... looks like MRE has got the dorifto down to an art.... incase you can't tell I just can't wait to go playing legal dorifto for safe long amounts of time.... AWSOME>>>
-
obviously you guys are all mates with squizz and revlimiterboy.... so yeah i'm one of the Garage Spank crew.... Pete and jay totally destroyed me and I am now dead keen to get to some track days with the team.... should be fun... if you keep Jay informed everyone will know... thanks a heap.
-
man.... i don't care what times your running... you own a purple V spec 33.... you da man.... yeah... it's a real shame... some people just can't help themselves....
-
and rick... i reckon it is a top idea to stay on street tyres.... the street machines white 32 is faster on streets than on slicks due to the fact that with slicks there is NO wheelspin in a 4WD and the motor bogs badly! with street tyres and Altessa there is a nice balance between slip and grip and they go HARD on street tyres.... although a big Exhaust system on that monsta would be a help..... and a HKS 30/37 Kit...... and a Trust Fuel rail....... and Microtech computer..... wait where were we..... yes stay with the street tyres... you'll be quicker and save yourself $$$ when you break stuff.... however 2WD is a different kettle of fish..... the day that Squizz gets slicks (and a piston.... he he) is the day he runs 11's cause the morose slide states that it is and therefore it will.... and matt if you can go fast as a GTR on street tyres in a VL on STREET TYRES.... i'll give you the silvia to drive cause you must be a gun driver.... all fast 2WD cars run slicks... and that's not cause they are gay... it is cause they want to go fast.... I wish I had enough horsepower to require slicks... so who is going to the next Day night major anyway.... it looks like it should be a top field with all the brissy guys coming up....
-
I am in for the 23 of feb(i think that is the right date??) I hope that big VL monster is going to be there.... I need some number plates too.... I was still thinking 51IDA... which says slida.... don't know anymore crazy cool sugesstions.... Hey rick it's tops to see your skyline down there.... your not scared that is for sure.... I finally am in the process of getting my injectors and then it is bosch motorsports fuel pump and I am on my way.... all the way to the drags that is.... tops!!! hey nismos car is running better mile an hour but slower times... those diff gears really really suck.... you just can't pedal it off the line... but I was pretty happy with the times.... it's what I expected.... it ran a best of 14.4 on High Boost - Nismo driving and 14.6 standard boost with me driving.... it was fun anyway... and it didn't spit a turo this time... that was a good thing.... another question for all you tech heads to search up.... i'm not knocking anyone or anything.... however the big and little richo were up nismo about running no exhaust other than the dump pipe... they claimed that it burnt out valves.... has anyone ever heard of this?! it sounds sus to me but I haven't played turbo's for that long.... all I know is engines are heat pumps... air/fuel in then air/fuel out as fast as you can.... so in my opinion dumping the exhaust will only add performance not burn out valves..... makes the car easier to drive to cause with a nasty V8 beside you you just can't hear what your doing in a turbo car.... it really sucks when you *ahem* accellerate quickly to the speed limit beside a noisy V8 or worse still a mongrel rotory... you just can't judge what's going on properly....
-
hey guys I know i'm new to the scene.... but I really want to get involved... put me down for a spot... I am part of the interested crew that is coming with Pete and Jay from rocky.... I am really looking forward too it and have already told my boss that i will be taking holidays some time in march.... I might have to slide a new diff under the rear of the Q before the event though.... and what's the deal with tyres.... I heard that with the SR20 club there was a deal where they provided compliance tyres to trash.... If not i have some Dorifto rims anyway.... thanks a heap slip.... look forward to meeting you all....
-
dudes that looks awsome... you'll have to tell us when the next one is on... we have a whole team of mad keen dorifters up here and nowhere to go...( read no where to go legally, we have some top industrial area's for driving in a safe and legal manner...) we are all going to the mount cotton wet skid pan day... there is probably about 7 cars coming down for it.... 3 S13 2 R32 Skylines 2 R33 Skylines 1 crazy early prelude front drift MADMAN and a few support cars ( read ute with tyres ) so yeah... we are part of a group of import enthusiest called Garage Spank up here in Rockhampton.... if anyone is ever passing through... or you guys have some interesting events on weither it be Track days drift days or anything performance car orrientated.... we'd love to know.... we actually have our own strand... in the wastelands called Squizz mobile/Spank HQ.... theres alot of crap on there cause it is just mates talking but if you want to know what's going on in Centeral Queensland just chat to us and we'll sort out some bogan hunting (favourite pastime), or the like.... but yeah... definatly keen on the dorifto.... keep us informed....
-
maybe... but if you want big power out of a nissan.... it's forged piston and rebuilt internals time anyway... I paid $100 for the T25 Turbo (for silvia remember) $100 for manifold $200 in oil lines. intercooler piping and miscilanious gear... for $400 it's really really cheap.... don't be scared do the work yourself... especially if you can drive your girls car... it actually gives you an attachment to your car... you built it and it really does give you satisfaction when driving it that you have built it yourself... I understand the whole just buy a turbo car though... I depends what you want... mine is just a little added boost until I rebuild with forged pistons... 30/37 and custom manifolds... should be fun... it will still be with the NA motor... just the only thing that doesn't like the boost is the NA pistons.... other than that the motor is virtually identical... the oil squirters I hear you all say... how many 1000Hp V8's have crank case oil squirters... I've already looked into it and done the calcs(well my mechanical Engineer father did.) and he reckons that sure they are cool but you don't need them.... anyway dudes have fun just remember.... make a plan research and do it cheap.... it's the Garage Spank Moto......
-
ps the fun part is when everyone checks out your NA silvia Q and then get annilated at the lights... due to extra compression in the motor... with standard boost the NA converted turbo motor is a touch quicker than genuine turbo motor... in our hot dry land.... we had too skylines on the dyno.... one converted and one standard.... the standard 32 RB20DET made 162 Hp at the wheels... the conversion RB20DE+ made 185 Hp at the wheels... same day same fuel and both useing standard parts.... interesting eh??
