"finally"? - the Z06 has been around for a while... im still waiting for the japs to build a new car that actually looks nice.... im still leaning towards the LFA or NSX...lexus will just be gorgeous once we finally get to see it!

both those are very wrong dude. speed limits used to be +- 50%, all changed now. (ive been here 4 years now) lookin at 50c per L fuel Speedlimits on Shk Zayed Road is between 100-120kph (can either flash at 120kph - 140kph) On emirates road which i use for work i sit on 150kph all the way down (120kph limit) and it doesnt flash..there are limits BUT they are not as strict as perth - on the downside there are a LOT of deaths here on the roads..a LOT. Beer is around...20Dhs for a pint? so about $6AUD? but a Jagermeister and Redbull is about $20-$25AUD each... however alcohol in Dubai Duty Free is the cheapest in the world..so a 1L Absolute vodka bottle is about $12AUD ....so yeah buy when u travel and stock up at home before u go out...

hey mate im from perth but now live in Dubai. Whoever said fuel is 15c is wrong, its exactly the price i listed in my previous post. THat being said other things are very expensive here. For example rent is more expensive than MAnhatten, Tokyo and London. its now apparently one of the most expensive places to rent in in the world Cars are cheap, fuel is cheap, alcohol is expensive, living is ridiculously expensive (and u do pay per week, u pay like 2-3 cheques up front) U may earn a decent amount but then again the $AUD is rising so strong it negates any raise i get here when i come home for holidays.

higher than America but not as high as Europe i think.. we pay 6.50Dhs per gallon here = 1.72Dhs per litre = 49c (australian cents) per litre... it costs me around $23AUD to fill up my car each week...

dude have driven a z06? dont just judge this car cos your mates tell you holdens/chevs can "only go quick in a straight line" its BS. ive driven a z06 here and let me tell you, having 505HP and a 7L engine mated to a light (relatively) car with a manual box is the most fun thing ull ever do. the chassis is great and sure it doesnt have a screen for you to play Gran Turismo on but let me tell u its a real mans car. it just feels (and is) so fast...it sounds mean as balls and the car looks great in the flesh... THe Zr1 will be even more hardcore...dont diss it. THe z06 here and the new GTR are the same price around $70-$75K AUD - so yeah..guess it depends what yuou want. as my daily driver id take a GTR cos u can use it in traffic and be comfy..but on the weekend ull WANT a big 7L (or 6.2L Supercharged) V8 manual to just destroy the roads..

i love hte z06. this is even better. id take one over a GTR any day of the week..

he doesnt technically review cars, he reviews the feeling you get from driving them....if you want a techy show watch Best Motoring and learn japanese..

yeah they have the same thing here in DUbai..its great..its a foil that gets covered over your car..u can change ur car to ANY colour..and the plus side is that once you sell the car you have new paint that hasnt been done over....most ppl here are doing it now as its cheaper than painting the car and it also protects it..

theyve got the SL65AMG 2009 models rolling here now..they are awesome. the black series i think has 30mm wider fenders on each side..maybe more...lighter, faster etc..

z06 matches it for price/quartermile times/0-100kph spd - it looks better and its a lot of fun to drive. sure it doesnt have a built in ipod and testicle touch screen but theyre so much fun (7L manuals are f*kn great btw)

just to let you know some real first hand experience on the new M cars (m5, m6 actually) - they are having SEVERE reliability problems. A new M5 here is 400,000Dhs = 115K AUD with 20,000km and less than 2 years old they are on sale for 270,000Dhs = 78K AUD The reason is ppl are having mass reliability problems with the M cars being left on Power Mode all the time (507HP rather than 400HP). The M5/6s are being sold so readily 2nd hand here as they are a mass of problems and ppl cant be arsed dealing with them anymore. There are a lot more m cars here then either japan or Oz so we see first hand how many of them are back in the shop with serious problems. Most new series BMWs have a LOT of electrical/ECU problems - teh M cars have these and the engine problems too (again, this is from personal ownership experience and knowledge, not from what ive read or internet) although the BMWs ARE winning "best engine of the year award" - the problem is these Awards dont cover what happens 10,000km later... i just think its a little presumptuous to call it "the best engineering in the world" when there are so many reliability problems... btw ppl complaining about the weight of the 1900Kg Commodores..its only 160KG more than a 2 door GTR ..not much difference really when u put it in context...

exactly. remember about 2 seconds ago when someone posted about the GTR Vs Z06 on the corvette forums and everyone is up in arms about how close minded the "yanks" are? well take a look RIGHT here - the precious "unbeatable" GTR got chopped by a f*kn rice burning front wheel drive civic...which prolly has 2L and 4cyl and "Vtec Power" who cares if its a fair race..the GTR got destroyed..deal with it...stop being so closeminded because a skyline got destroyed by a lil jap hatchback..

i personally think the Scuderia irl sounds so much nicer than a bog stock F430. chuck an aftermarket exhaust on teh F430 however and it sounds mental. i dont think any ferrari sound "shit" esp at high revs...or even when u start the car up and the throttle gets an automatic blip..so loud. the F430 convertible sounds great when ur driving them too..top down tunnel runs..gives me chills just thinking about it.

i get what they are saying - the GTR is the engine is fine - however its the chassis and gearbox and how the power is applied that is more to do with the remarkable feats of the GTR...
