  1. it looks really nice in Red...nice photos mate. did it look agile around the circuit or still too heavy?
  2. haha same as DUbai mate - cept we have more ppl here so u see more modified supercars. i was surprised as you think like Tokyo/Japan in general would be up the top..
  3. they just had the R35GTR do a tour here in DUbai at the Auto Show...apparently the highest number of pre-orders anywhere in the world came from Qatar...i find that really strange.

    353awkw?

"gross vehicle weight is 1970kg." thats my ONLY Criticism with the car. value for money, performance etc - all amazing..but i dont see how this could be flung around a track at a car that weighs more than an AUdi A8.... sure its fast..but imagine how much faster it would be if it were 1400 - 1500kg...it would slay pretty much everything... even with a "lightweight" version the max they are going to take off it is 100kg (see Superleggera and Scuderia F430 weight reduction)...its still not that much... it depends..if its a GT Cruiser, that weight is fine...but i dont see many GT Cruisers with engines this small... still..its getting the numbers...but the weight thing is the only thing bugging me about this car..
  5. thats a nice article mate..for me any car thats 1750kg (if you convert the weight they gave in pounds it makes this) is just way too heavy. sure its fast - but imagine how much faster it would be if it weighed like..1400kg....itd be incredible. as it stands now it weighs more than an Audi A8...and thats just ridiculous...fair enough its not a stripped out sports car.but a car with 5 years of development with GTR heritage shouldnot weigh 1750kg..thats Sedan/Mercedes etc territory.
  6. cars released late in the year carry the year number following...since is like OCt/Nov 2007 its considered a 2008 car..its the same with all cars, not just the GTR mate
  7. i just had the same thing in my car mate - smelt fuel inside and around my car...but there were NO leaks on the ground. i chucked the car up on the hoist and you could see fuel covering the fuel tank (tiny pinhole leak) - had to replace one of the lines and get a new fuel tank from the wreckers... be careful because if you scrape over a speed bump and you make a spark and it turns out to be what i think it is..u can be in a lot of trouble.
  8. also, might have to pay a bit in Salik as well..Sharjah/Garhoud Bridge/Maktoum Bridge traffic SUCKS every day....im glad im living in the opposite direction of traffic (near IBN Battuta Mall) oh and yeah good luck finding a place with a garage - i live in the Gardens..i got a 3 bedroom and im pretty lucky wit hthat....finding housing is ridiculous.. Dude some of the top secret GTRs have Sharjah plates...pretty sure i know what im on about.
  9. mate couldnt agree more, fakers, pretenders and wannabees. but yeah the ONLY jap car scene is in UAQ and Sharjah - www.toprpm.com is a dubai based site...some sick cars there...but you onlly see jap cars near where i work (al Quoz) in teh Performance car shops... i owouldnt be saying "minor" euro car mods dude....quite a few cars built from the ground up by Hartge, AC Schnitzer, Hamann etc by Quartermile etc..
  10. LOL talk to Nigno about making money not me - hes the one on the high roller salary.
  11. thats the point of a job isnt it? its a great work environment tho, with lots of travel and you get to meet with al ot of important people. Deals are big and u get a LOT of experience very quickly..
  12. thats so tasteful mate...agreed - really well thoguht out car.... my only criticism might be a more agressive front bar is needed..more angles less curves...but yeah amazing car
  13. Marketing and business development mate.
  14. performance scene? depends what you want. you have extreme stuff u never would have seen in australia...think of the power u extract from a 2.6L 6cyl skyline...then imagine doing the same thing from a 5L V10 M5 engine or a Ferrari V8 etc when u have an unlimited budget....the results are amazing... Its basically the home of the modified supercar....tho people here dont tend to JUST modify engine..they do full custom paint, interiors, kit etc...when i got time ill scan u some pages in the autotrader cos ull be surprised as to what rolls around here - Zondas, Veyrons, Koeni CCRs, Carrera GT, SLRs, Enzos, MC12s etc. u just go to a hotel lobby and see what u see here... there is a real track - its called the DUbai Autodrome....Drag strips are in outer emirates (45mins to 1 hour drive) Workshops - All the official RUF, AMG, Hamann, Top Secret and that are here...but as i said..most ppl start with expensive euros..not jap cars...
  15. yes they can. if theyre extremely modified then u register them in Sharjah....but ive seen PLENTY of skylines reg in Dubai and test drove a few.
  16. hey mate before your car can be registered with the RTA you need to have it LHD. it costs around 10,000 to 20,000 Dhs depending.... this guy is coming at the best time because of how strong the AUD is now. its 1AUD = 3.2Dhs. when i came in 04 it was 2.4Dhs.... Mate (the guy who started this thread) PM Me and send me ur email if you need to know more aboutt it...
  17. dude i live in dubai - dont bother about japan, u can get japanese cars for pocket change here...i dont see why u would bother when Euros are so cheap. for example - R33GTR around $15K AUD R34GTR 2002 Vspec 2 with 30,000km around $35000AUD.... Remember dubai is LHD as well...so i wouldnt bother with any jap car tbh....they are here but are a bitch to insure however there are no Yellow Stickers here or anything...u can ask me more if you want ive lived here for three years now man.
  18. hey man i live in Dubai too - and this is true about what hes saying. reason is all the modified jap GTrs and supras are in the "poorer" emirates such as UAQ, RAK, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Dubai has the modified exotics by HAmann, Gemballa, the Mirage GT, Enzos, Zondas, Gallardos etc. Its harder to get the jap cars registered in Dubai as well. www.toprpm.com this website shows some of the hardest jap cars in the UAE - particularly the top secret supras and GTRs etc.
  19. theyre out now dude - VCT and VGT turbos - Variable Vane/GEometry Turbo's - Porche 911 turbo has them now, the A/R shrinks at low RPM and increases at high RPM eliminating lag and giving a good top end...makes a virtually lagless system on a 500hp car...
