sorry Let Me Drive i havent been on the forums for a while looks pretty cool there!!! thanks for the pics mang!!! how is it mounted there ??? did you spray your dash black also??
-
Hey R33_Series2Lover, As the guys have suggested free up your intake and zorst. If you get a pod buy a sheild from Linton at garage debris (<--- do a search on this) and then pipe something from the front bar to the box so you get enough cold air into your motor (this is easy if you have hybrid style piping cause you wil have a hole to plumb the pipe through where the old intercooler piping was ). That sorted buy the 3" split dump off Batmbl in the link above and if you can the new catco cat. (Later on invest in a cat back.) If you can it is also a good idea to beef up your fuel and cooling systems i.e. intercooler, fuel pump and radiator etc (but not a nessesity if your only doing very mild modifications). This all adds to reliability. The PFC will increase drivability and power provided its tuned properly (add $400~800 for this) but once you throw a PFC at a skyline it realy unleashes a monster. New O2 sensor, vacuum lines, hoses, fan belts, oil catch cans, new plugs etc and a bit of time will ensure you reliability also. A few words of advice however for when you begin to modify you ride!!! 1. Once you start you cant stop. It becomes so addictive you'll start having dreams about your next mod 2. Shop around when buyin parts and do your research on the prduct before jumping into something. Im realy starting to ramble on now arent i well better stop i spose neway good luck modifying your ride.

How Do I Take Out The Drivers A-pillar Cover???
MsG_ChRiS replied to MsG_ChRiS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
thats what i couldnt work out neway i'll give it a try today ty guys just a question i'm gonna have to take out the back seat arent i ??? -
have you guys ever watched a F1 race car warm up from cold ... they rev them at a particular rev range at given tempretures as the car warms up to minimise the cold rattly pistons bashing around in the cylinders thus reduce engine wear ... also i think somewhere i read the 75% of engine damage occurs in the first 5 mins of a car starting because it is outside its optimal heat range so getting the car to its optimal heat range as quickly as possible by driving it (within limits of course ... i dont mean that as soon as you start the car you have to dump a second gear burnout ) would be the best way to go? Excuse the ignorance if i am wrong =P

interesting ... dont worry with that many 12's she'll be shaking soon enough :uh-huh: thanks for the info man

lol i did this the other day and found all sorts of jap money some lollies and also some fishing hooks hehe

car ps2 hmmm sounds interesting have to wait and see k would be cool 2 see what it looks like ... cant wait for the pic one thing i have noticed about the dvd h/u's is they lack alot of audio features ... i am upset that the kenwood unit for $1600 dollars doesnt have an adjustable eq only preset sound curves thanks guys ohh yeah from what i've gathered no-one has done the tv in the dash thingy ahh well....
-
go on ebay ... dont buy a cheap head unit pay big dollars for that prob somewhere around $1500~$2000 at least <--- still thats a pretty good price considering that a good dvd h/u costs around $4000 still the rest of the stuff you can get for jack s**t you can buy 2 head rest monitors for like $350 AUD my 2 cents

Where do i start with internals
MsG_ChRiS replied to wheels_24's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i say run it on another dyno 729NM doesnt sound right with that kw figure other than that get some new cam gears (mayb a step bigger cams), extrude hone what ever you can afford to (even you turbo if you want) and most definetly upgrade your fuel pump man. Probally a good idea to get the Z32 afm too. The most important step however is giving your car a good tune!! -
i would recommend the stealth fx but they dont come in black for the r33 at least they didnt when i bought one ... mines brushed silver looks nice too ... you can take the trumpet off and turn it to plumb back cops wouldnt say a thing about it ... as for the pod i've got one of those too (they sound tough) in a box from linton of garage debris ... if i turn the stealth fx to full plumb back i still get a chopping noise on light throttle the stealth fx can also be heard operating at full plumb back ... if you dont want the psssshhhh sound and your not running 30 psi why bother changing it from standard ...

i was looking today and i was worried if the ps2 would even work in the glove box at that angle (cd loading) =( ... have to test it later on tonight.
-
What about in the centre console ... that could work !!! (",) I was looking today ... its a pretty big job (i think) but that is probally your only other option
-
hmmm well then ... i dont know under the seat mayb? but that would b a pain too!!! i dont know man its got me stumped when i jump in the car tomorrow i'll have a think bout it for you. k dude nighty night now then hey just a question ... how much do you like your air-con ??? hehe *chris has gone to sleep now*
-
thats right danh, i see now maybe its not prctical but i will still keep it as an option as an alternative what about a monitor in the glove box??? as for the boot that was my next port of call =) i found the head unit i think i am going to go with its a double din kenwood unit ... they seem to realy intergrate into the cabin (see the link below) plus you can get sat nav upgrade =) ... i had worries with the the fold out unit blocking the air-con controls (plus they look tacky when you move them down!!!) later on i was looking at puting monitors in the headrests its just so cheap now to do it. I mean why not do it, the most expensive thing is the h/u but if you are patient one can be had for $1500 bucks brand new!!!

the glove box
-
a couple of rings with the bolts on the ends and trucky straps that way you can take it in and out!!!
-

-
who said it was goin to be on whislt driving ... prob. a good idea to ask them but thanks for the advice chris Im buyin the h/u very soon couple of hundred more bucks to go !!! i already own a ps2 and a 7' or 8' lcd monitor is pretty cheap these days hey you can get a head rest setup for like next to nothing check out some of the bargains on here http://motors.listings.ebay.com.au/Car-Aud...ListingItemList (im buyin a pioneer h/u to not a cheapy ) Hey chris you could probally give me an estimate as to how much sound deadening a skyline would cost!!! as you prob know they sound pretty crapy when not deadened =( So has ne1 done this or not???
-
When are you going to start work on the rest of the car??? The stereo is mean but the front seats could use a retrim and some hectic mags wouldnt go astray !!! Umm as for sound deadening what have you done? ... i have two JL 12in subs squeesing out somewhere around the 130dB mark my car from outside sound like its farting and everything shakes and rattles you got the same prob with your setup??? If you dont what did you do to fix it???
-
Which way do you think i should face my subs???
