wingnam replied to vcool's topic in General Automotive Discussion
thats exactly what happened to my rb20 - thought of getting different engine but my car is gts4 so yeah just opted for a rebuild - cost me $1400 from my friend -i should be getting it back within the next 2 weeks -
i have similar problem - only happens if i over fill though

Engine/Car: 1990 r32 gts4 Type of failure: leaking coolant, Factors influencing the failure: the brisbane heat,i have no idea State of tune of the engine: stock bar 3inch jap spec exhaust, apexi filter and hks ssq Oil used and service interval: currently using fuchs 10-40 General comments: stopped in at officeworks on the way home after leaving ow the thermostat jumped straight up to danger zone, now waiting for my mechanic to have some time to look and fix it. apart from this the engine has been pretty good in the 1year i have owned it cars at the mechanic now - as i suspected it has a blown the seals - getting redone now

Thread Edited As Deal Is Now Completed.
wingnam replied to quicknissan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
dont think this guy would have ne thing to do with jap.com.au they are okla - i bought r32 vertex kit off them from a ns.com special they gave very good service and very prompt delivery... kit wasnt a perfect fit (only the rear bar) but nothing too hard to fix -
on a full tank of the stuff it feels great but once it hits the half tank mark it starts to fell sluggish - but in general its not too bad

R32 Rust warning: problem area
wingnam replied to Bazelinez's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
thats bad - only rust i have found on mine is from scratches - fixed up now and underneath the car (drivers side) looks like a beam but its hollow - small patch about the size of a smoke packet (25's) sanded it down and resprayed with some decent paint -
yeah there arent many that are out there for the 32 - imo veilside style is tooo old school go subtle like vertex,bn, uras or if you can get a hold of doluck
-
there is a trader(osaka boy?) on here that sells them - pricey though... if you are after better night vision then may as well shell out for a hid kit - should be sellers/trader even gb on here for some or you could always try ebay
-
got full kit from gforce froma ns sale - very good customer service - only thing was rear bar didnt fit properly and had to be remoulded by my guy - overall its looks good now
-
trolley jack for me 1500kg ish rating from repco think it was like 100something but on sale was like 70 so yeah enough to lift a 32 but have a lil bit of trouble getting it under - and will deff have more trouble once it gets the suspension sorted .. i place the trolley jack right in the middle axels -
-
taking the seat out is eazy - there are 2 bolts for the back - they are located down the side - phillips head will work better but you could also use a 10mm(i think maybe 8mm) socket. as for the bottom seat it has two things that go into the body of the car and you just need to push up really hard putting it back in is the hard part as you have to line up the top peice with the hooks at the top... i didnt do mine right so now there is a huge gap hahahah - cant fix it yet either cos its getting kit fitted
-
i think the closest one to new farm would be wynnum/capalaba then slacks creek -- i dont venture past the valley so not sure if there are any up that way... oh and i didnt have much of a great experience at wynnum/capalaba but yeah still its and autobarn though
-
you could try phantom motors at stafford - addy is 337 stafford rd stafford... i got my line form him - top guy there..... and COP_TZR your comment is mostly true, and yep there would be some dodgy ppl out there that has got a car cheap polished it up a bit spen min on making it nicer and jacked up the prices these things do happen so you justhave to be very careful and look around and do the research i actually know a distant aquaintence who has tried this on one of my friends and also jacked it up a futher 10k to list on carsales - most of us now stear clear of him
-
icic hmmmm well it is only a temp fix for me - trying to organise hid kit so when i get that ill be getting it all looked at.....
-
ive been playing around with mine - sidewall says max 40psi - so i started it at 32 psi all round have tried 38 and 35psi as well all feel different but 35 seems to be the best...... 32psi feels like the wheels grip too much 38psi seems too feel like im sliding all over the place....... i reckon just test different setings as no soubt every tyre will have their own characteristics... buy the way im running 215*45*17 sumitomo

i had a similar problem in my 32, i have now changed the fuses to 20amp seems to be ok now no dramas - had the 20amps in for about 3months now
-
hi all ive noticed some sort of oil dripping from my clutch pedal recently. at first i thought it was from soem silicon spray that i sprayed in between my steering wheel but on closer inspection its coming from the firewall where the clutch pedal is mounted.... driving hasnt changed a single bit but its just annoying me as there is a huge oil spot on the car mat.......i ve checked the screw and its still secure.. just wondering what it could be..... and help greatly appreciated..... thanks in advanced andy

thanks for the responses, havent had the chance to take it off yet too busy with work but eventually..
-
dont know if this is any use but i changed fuses from 15amp to 20amp (had problem with something there and my electrician suggested it) and its actually a lot brighter on standard globes, by the way i have the projector type lights.
-
not sure if its supposed to be in here or elsewhere, and yes i have searched my boot spoiler has the warning break light, and im wanting to to take it off, do i need to replace it with the ones that are on the rear window??? or can i just go without it??? silly question but thought id ask... thanks andy
