  1. i think the stock boost gauge is electrical, are you trying to install a mechanical one? if its electrical i think all you need to do is find a right wire coming out of the ecu or something, if its mechanical and you can't find a hole then drill your own - looking at the firewall i can't see anywhere you could feed a line through.

  4. has anyone else installed this piece of equipment into an r34? i recently wired it all up however it seems to have a few problems: 1. The current speed readout always hovers around 40km/h which your meant to calibrate it to, even when stopped it still reads between 38-42km/h. any ideas? 2. The turbo timer doesn't count down - it turns straight off once i shutdown the engine, the procedure in the manual doesn't work to fix this so would it be the timers problem, incorrectly installed or something i need to setup?
  5. maybe its not an S3, it looked to be the cheaper option model - exquivilant to the executive commodore. They certainly stripped out alot of the little things you thought they wouldn't; end caps and all.
  6. i've got the one with the dodgy fake carbon B pillar! :bananaman with a 'now racing nissan' sticker on the back.
  7. god damn it! Checked the vacume sensor and the hose had a crack in it again, i fixed it for good this time, a much better quality hose as the stock one was a shotty plastic piece of crap.
  8. i've been searching like crazy and still can't find anything that might help, could you give me an point in the right direction :bananaman
  9. thats with that nismo spoiler right? dod you relocate the oil cooler and horns? from the looks of it the stock gtt bumper needs more than inch taken out to get a 600x300x75 FMIC to fit.
  10. the champ that im am :Pimp: found something here: http://www.speedtoys.com/~stryder/evc4install.html (i haven't read it but if this doesn't help try going to hksusa.com, this is where i found the english version of turbo timer install manual.
  11. by 'shorting out' the ecu how does it display the diagnotic test?
  12. anymore? so you've had this problem as well?
  13. i just don't like the idea of 'shorting out' something..... When will we start seeing competent people over here (expecially out here in the country areas) that can service imports.
  14. this morning it happened again, im with you mate, what the hell is going on!!! - TCS/SLIP and check engine came on after about 10mins of driving - for the past couple of days it hasn't come on at all. - i was thinking of taking it down to the local Nissan dealership but i doubt they would have clue so does anyone know of a japanese forum that i could post this question to?
  15. give the dash a wack, could be stuck (recently my engine temp gauge was stuck and after quick beating it kicked back to where it should of been) - you would notice a loud tapping noise coming from the engine if the engine wasn't getting oil, so i doubt its anything major since the 'check engine' light didn't come on which would have a sensor at the oil pump and detected no oil passing through the pump.
  16. the r34 gtt is first skyline i've owned and it definatly an awesome car, low kms, good looks and an excellent car to comute in everyday.
  17. were the sedans given all factory options (like a Holden calais equivalant)? i notice alot of people asking wheather or not they have a S1 or S2, did nissan actually call them S1 and S2 or is it just factory options? Also, why are there alot of variations of the skylines. ie: the 1998 r34 GTT sedan i have has 'skyline' in individual letters across the middle part of the boot where as some had skyline intergrated into the lower bumper. Another thing is that the sedans only GT shields on the front fenders, some have a GT-T badge on the back boot - below the right light. The interior instrument cluster and optional 3 gauge pod has amber lights (from what people are saying, its S2 that had them that colour but 1998 is an early r34 year so when did S2 skylines start to come out?), the rear seats have there drink holders and ashtrays and the driver/passenger have there own drinkholders. Does the vehicle ID plate state if its S1 or S2?
  18. i left the engine running and happen to hear a whistle which turned out to be the vacume leak, i was lucky to hear it but some leaks you can't here and would need to visually inspect the hoses and their connections. However the bad news is that it didn't exactly fix the problem, it still does it but not as regulary as it did.
  19. i was just checking them out as well, http://www.nengun.com/ has a set of clear ones going for $42, another site http://www.msiracing.com.au/parts/category8_2.htm has them going for $99, but they have the nismo centre console gauges $100 cheaper then nengun, you really have to shop around. and compare.
  20. awesome. One other question, where can i find a set kewl nismo rims (black - just like the R34GT-R Z-tune)? im going to compare prices to a set of Racinghart type CX (gunmetal grey).
  21. is the R34 GTT RB25DET restricted in anyway to keep it below 206kw?
  22. i think the problem is over, after repearing a leaking vacume hose it appears to have fixed the TCS/check engine problem, yay! PS. change of topic, is the stock r34 turbo using a T3 flange?
  23. that is one awesome car! looks fast, how fast was it? shit scary?
  24. how much were the carbon ones all up?
  25. i don't know if the problems simular but TCS, Slip and Check engine would come on randomly when driving long distances (about 15km), i checked out the engine with the car running and found a huge leak in a vacume line running to the vacume sensor (the little thing tucked away next the brake cylinder). After a quick repair job, the boost gauge now shows vacume but most importantly the TCS problem seems to have gone! I can only suggest checking every vacume line in the engine bay, since a vacume leak or low revs can trigger the 'check engine' light.
