  1. yeah i would like to know alot more about turbo setups but im a bit of cheap skate so i'll need to find some "free" online info. Another problem i came across was when i removed the Turbosmart manual boost controller and connected the stock soilinoid back up; the stock boost goes up just below the halfway mark (on the factory boost gauge), now only does half that. How the hell did i lose half of my precious boost?
  2. 4bella, is that the 3d carbon-fiber wing from carmate.com?
  3. yep spooling/boosting. i tried to bypass the stock boost controller (maybe with autos the ecu opens the wastegate right up) with a turbosmart T-controller but with no luck. I installed it correctly(i think) but i wouldn't make any boost over 1 or 2 psi. When installing a manual boost controller what needs to be modified from the r34 stock hoses? apparently the stock setup has a tube coming from the vacume and the intake, shouldn't it just be vacume?
  4. what do you mean by load? a turbo should generate boost if it has enough exhaust gases passing through the turbine. If you rev the shit out of it while its sitting then boost should be made. A mates WRX makes enough boost while sitting (only average revving) to make quite a loud BOV sound.
  5. why do factory turbo setups don't make boost when reving in idle? when in N or P does the ecu fully open the wastegate or something?
  6. i had a brand new BOV sitting around, might at well put it on. The psssshhh sound is awsome
  7. what would i do about the stock plumback setup? just remove and block the old pipe?
  8. do you know if theres a kit available to convert an ER34 sedan into a BNR34? something to pump out the gaurds a little?
  9. i recently purchased a turbosmart BOV (atmospheric) and was told by someone that if i fit it to the R34 it will stall the car when de-accelerating. What can i do to pervent/fix this?
  10. does anyone know if there is a GTR style front lip (usually the black part) attachment for the stock R34 GTT front bumper?
  11. it looks good but nothing beats a real R34 GTR.
  12. what kind of boost can the stock ECU/injectors/fuel pump go up to?
  13. how would a T3/T04 garret turbo rated at 450hp (with a 300x600x75 RHK FMIC) perform on the stock RB35DET motor? Whats the stock r34 turbo flange? at what point do you upgrade the internals?
  14. the r34 is the only skyline ive owned but when on boost you can watch the fuel gauge go down. i get about 350-400km (driving like an old lady) out of tank which is a fairly big tank compared to my old N/A JZA80 supra which got about 400-500km (driving like a mad man) out of a smaller tank .
  15. i too was looking at replacing the stock plumback BOV with an atmosphere type but after emailing the guys at XSpeed they said that the car will stall when de-accelerating, what can i do prevent this? Alot people say you must have an manual to have a BOV but it makes no difference really since autos have to vent excess boost as well, it just won't make a noise when changing gears.
  16. yep, the front and backseats need a scrub. One thing about japanese cars is that the ashtrays are always really worn, same with my old supra - removed the centre console and there was ash all over the place.
  17. It has the stock 17" wheels. Ive got a few pics of it over on cardomain: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/802508 im going to keep it looking stock for awhile since i would rather spend the money on performance. ive already bought a 300x600x75 intercooler and 450hp turbo. The build up begins......
  18. I just bought a 1998 R34 Skyline GT-T sedan less than a month ago and have started to have problems. From checking out the forum i see that the r34's have had quite a few problems to do with the electrical side of things. When i first played around with the car the 'TCS' would only turn off and not back on but after resetting the ECU it started to work fine, the switch actually started to turn it off and on; however i've had this other problem which seems to happen once in awhile - i would be cruising down the highway at 100 then suddenly the 'TCS off', 'slip' and 'check engine' lights would come on but nothing would change in the way the car was running. ie: the engine still sounds the same and doesn't loose power or anything. i checked the instruments when this happens and everything is ok, oil press is fine and eng temp fine. Once i arrive at work i turn the car off then back on and everythings back to normal, is it? (could it have something to do with the sensors?) PS. ive checked the whole car out when i got it - oil, water levels and used hi-pressure air to remove alot of built up dust and junk that collected in the fusebox and wiring. thanks in advance!
