  1. the problem with these overpriced R34 GTRs is exactly that they have sat there for sale for the last 6 months AND will continue to sit there for sale UNTIL the seller finally gets sick of the car he loves so much OR starts getting desperate and will lower the price accordingly. in the meantime they'll just sit there being archived to the back of the list. throughout the two years of owning my R33 i was constantly eye balling carsales for a R34 GTR upgrade. and some of them had been up for over a year. and they'll continue to sit there till they drop. quick word of advice too. NO car for sale on carsales sells for its listed price. and if you do buy it for the listed price you're either an idiot or you've just got too much money to burn.
  2. also with the WRX the quickest launch times i have achieved were with the traction control switched off and were with a touch of wheel spin. the VDC/ESP doesnt step in to prevent the tyres from spinning when its switched off. makes sense to switch it off.
  3. had a kakimoto Regu on mine. exhaust tip looked very hardcore (jap racer style) and on boost in the high revs it used to literally scream. had the muffler replaced by an Apexi N1 as the regu had started to rust/discolour badly (previous owner in japan installed it) which IMO did sound louder than the regu but i think the RB sound was a lot more pronounced with the N1.
  4. i drove around for two whole years with my car boosted to 12 psi. turbo absolutely would not make anymore power. i never tracked/raced however. but i did used to drive it hard around town. i know for a fact the car was used for track purposes before i took ownership too. maybe i was just lucky.
  5. i too live in lane cove. haven't seen the car you speak of. the boxster S surely is quick. but how old is the car? my old man drives a 911 and over time the thing has lost some power and doesnt quite accellerate these days like it would have when it was brand new.
  6. depends? more power doesnt necessarily mean quicker 0-100 time. those APS TT kits sure make the 350 burn some serious rubber. i think you will find it more difficult to pull "consistent" 0-100 times in your car now. with RWD cars consistency is one of the most difficult things when going for quarter/track/0-100 times. with my tuned skyline on a gtech it was so difficult to control the power my times would spread as far as over a second from 0-100. One of the main reasons why i sold the car. with the 09 WRX i have now the times are very very consistent and are within .2 of a second each time i give the 0-100 a run. but the RWD does take a lot more skill to pull off a "perfect" launch. only to get there you need rediculous amounts of practice.
  7. mate the 09 WRX is a fantastic car to drive day in and day out could not ask for anything more in a daily driver. rang off some pretty impressive times in the last MOTOR edition it won best bang for your buck for 2009 beating a big diverse line up of cars under 100k and reeling off a 0-100 in 5.5 seconds, 13.6 quarter and 1:11 around wakefield park IN THE WET !!! i had a 98 40th anniversary series 2 GTS-T before the rex and from experience i would shoot for the newer model (ie R34). mine was extremely difficult to sell in the end and will be a nightmare for you when you eventually want to move on to a brand new car.
  8. gotta be realistic with these things. i think a main reason for selling is the thing starts costing you through your teeth to maintain/up keep. highly modified ones are the real money pits. the 97 GTR series III is a glamour GTR. they look unreal. no wonder you were offered money on the spot.
  9. 12-15k is steep i think the series 1 will fetch around 8k and the series 2 will fetch around the 10k mark just sold a series 2 with every part of the car modified. and it went quite cheaply.
  10. iv seen the specs the new GT spec B suffers in the looks department but it is a better car in every way. over 200kw claimed 0-100 in 5.2 seconds. so its fast. obviously not designed and tested on the track but they would make a good daily driver.
  11. any cheap gauge will do the job. very important to at least have something. the turbosmart spec Bs can read boost the old school way
  12. the guy came tonight and paid the difference. he was very keen. car is sooooooooold
  13. price drop guys $15,000 thanks for all your interest in the car i but need to get decent offers before i will let this car go.
  14. here are some pics taken when the car had a GT wing on the back. GT wing has since been removed a D wing/lip is in its place. the holes on the boot lid haven't been filled in or resprayed.
  15. all pms replied. please everyone this is a sale only. no swaps. price is very very very negotiable.
  16. all pms replied. car also comes with original unused flare. i think all cars in japan need one of these. just in case you get lost on Fuji mountain.
  17. hey mate the ride height is more than 10cm off the ground the LEDs and HIDs i'm not sure on the law but i'v never had any issues with these ever. the laws in VIC are a lot more similar to the laws in NSW than up in QLD. remember i'm from the north shore 10 minutes from the heart of sydney city. i don't live in a rural area. so i'm surrounded by cops everyday. never had ANY defects or any issues with pink slips and the car is my daily driver so it gets exposed day in and day out to the full force of the law.
