  1. yeh i was going to say Top Gear is definetely not a show to be basing every opinion on. you really need to make them for yourself. iv driven my boss's sti. its fkn hauls ass. does low 4 second 0-100 times. its making 240kw at all 4 wheels !!! and the 08 Sti also beat the evo 10 around the Top Gear track. so who cares. im not saying i like it. but i will tell you this. it goes like the wind with the chip and exhaust it is extremely quick. i still wouldnt buy one.

  3. this thing was difficult to tune for me as well. took a few days of trial and error to get it right.
  4. this is so true. i used to hear them drive past me n think fk that sounds tough until my mate drove my car for me and i realised mine sounded even crazier. i'm not sure why its hard to notice the RB growl when your inside the car probably because the exhaust is behind you facing outward.
  5. i reckon stay tuned for the WRX in the next 2-3 years. the brand new 09 "Sedan" and "Hatch" WRX ($39,990) is already quicker out of the box than every single sti up to 2008 model (0-100 5.3 seconds STOCK). and it has the same suspension as the 08 Sti. in a few years when subaru make their car finally look right the base model WRX will be the car to buy. and it will be dirt cheap too for a brand new performance car.
  6. he paid bit over 80 grand for the 08 sti full spec with the sat navigation etc etc and paid about 7 grand for ecutek, zorst and deceptor bov. definetely not cheap.
  7. my boss has an 08 Sti with MRT ecutek chip and full turbo back exhaust you would have to pour a lot of money into a R32 GTR to keep up with this thing mind you all up hes spent about 90 grand on the car just with these two mods and purchase price. pour 90 grand into a GTR and you have one serious machine
  8. it is a very strange one a guy posted a thread with a R32 GTR about a similar issue. his was an electrical issue. still plenty of possibilities.
  9. hijack? lol. im telling the guy im experiencing the same problem whats the point in starting a new thread. in response iv done a full engine diagnostic test with a laptop. cylinders are fine. for some reason the car is running very lean. i richened the AFR ratios and the missing seems to stop. i also did a fuel pump road test however none of these problems brought back any answers. next i will put some cheap spark plugs in. if this doesnt fix it (one of the spark plugs could be worn) i will replace each new coil pack with my old coil packs to see if one of my new coils are stuffed. it is "not" the aac valve this is clean. the AFM is brand new. i also put in another ECU and the same problem occured so its not computer related. it "may" be an air leak somewhere in a gasket. this is where i will look next after the coils and spark plugs.
  10. this started happening to my car not long ago and now i have a huge problem the car is misfiring. coil packs have just recently been changed too. perhaps my spark plugs are worn i will buy a new set this weekend and test this out. i will also put the old coil packs in one at a time to see if one of the new coils are gone. they are obviously still under warranty but who knows. in the meantime my car is running like complete shit. slow, shaking, sounds like a wrx too.

  12. coil packs, spark plugs or coil pack loom. i'm going through same problem right now too. will let you know on friday what it was.
  13. im having same problem with mine too. diagnosing it this friday. its either coil packs or foul/worn spark plug. the same problem used to happen to my previous car it had a cracked cylinder head and it was fouling the spark plugs every 1000 kms they had to be changed. its definetely not a cylinder head iv had my cylinders tested, fuel pump, afm everything. its pretty much come down to coils/spark plugs. will let you know what the problem is this friday.

  15. to answer your question about the 40th anniversary please run a search plenty has been listed. all the standard 40th anniversary features have been modified on my car though nothing on my car says its a 40th anniversary anymore
  16. i too was going to go down your path. and pay 2500 for microtech and tune for my series 2 R33 i ended up getting a Nistune remap from Toshi on these forums and seriously for $500 bucks i got exactly the same result as i would have with the microtech. just over 200kw at the wheels and all the fruits of the microtech without the $$$
  17. cheers for the heads up dude. were you actually thinking he was dodgy and is that the reason why you only planned to buy one at a time? and yeh the R31 GTS-R won the australian supercar series in 86 and 87. never won a bathurst but yeh these race spec cars had 550hp. in this trim would still blow away a lot of the V8 supercars today. they are definitely not to my taste either but they still hold an important place in history.

  19. correct my 40th anni has a gts25t sticker on the rear. GTS-T is just a shorterned way of saying ur GTS is turbo charged. a lot of people don't even bother with the T on the end. non turbo R33s arent so popular in the heavy tuning motorsports world and most tuners name the GTS25T as just a GTS. as opposed to being a GTR.

  21. unique auto sports seven hills. all they ever work on are nissans and skylines. they have dyno too.
