Here is something i found on the web..... Loz What is HICAS? And do I have it? Good question. HICAS is Nissan’s version of four wheel steering. It is an acronym for High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension. Unlike other Japanese car manufacturers 4WS (eg Honda’s system) HICAS never exceeds +/- 1°. It is designed for high speed response rather than parking manoeuvres. The system is electro-hydraulic - the ECU in the boot directs a hydraulic actuator at the rear axle to steer the rear wheels using the rearmost suspension links. The result is usually no more than 0.4° of movement. HICAS gives a touch of counter steer before settling with the rear wheel pointing the same way as the front. (Maybe this explains why my Skyline feels so loose on high-speed gravel...) This results in sharp turn-in, and enhanced stability at medium to high speeds. Anyway, have a crawl under the rear of your Skyline and have a look. After following the description in the paragraph above .. you have HICAS. Genuine buyer's of car's usually look over the whole car inside and out.... ask to hear it running, ask a million questions about everything... then ask for a ride or a test drive. Personally i would not buy a car (In Aus) that i could not test drive... I know i can pick up a lot about a car from a drive up the road round the corner and over a few bump's. If i wanted to buy.... The a run in a 100kph would be a definate..... Life is about risk's and if you dont take a few here and there you won't achieve anything...... Cheers Loz

My suggestion would be an upgraded fuel pump. It "Could" be the problem.... best to see a mechanic that knows a thing or two about skyline's.... I'd get the SAFC and Boost Controller later, so you can have more fun..... cheers Loz

there has been a lot of car stealing going on here (central coast) and the offender's have been known to go to Peats ridge to race other car's. So many Blitz' have been going on to try and stop this from happening. Something else i thought of... with 20 or more High Performance car's turning up in terrigal, then heading back to the "Known" drag strip..... I think i would call in back up unit's...... I'm just happy no SAU member's were pulled over..... All the Soft ****s in there dodgy try hard car's got done..... i suggest we give ourselves a pat on the back that we were well behaved and RESPONSIBLE. Go SAU~!!! Keep all recipts for taxi's (sorry that word) public transport, anything to do with the loss of your car. Sue him, either before or after and seek everything you can. Your soliciter will be able to give you all teh details you need. He'll plead guilty on the day, and the court will probably bargin with him, so make sure your represenative argue's a good case for not.!! Took me over 3 months to get the bastard who backed in to my Commie and took off. I even had to bring my Girlfriends sister down from Home (500 k's away) to give evidence against him. (the court paid for that). But the commie's fixed, but it was a ****in pain in the ass all that time....rrrrrr the annoying part..... it seems the law protects them.
