  1. Hmmmm.... for a while now i have this really annoying squeal at 6,000 rpm. I thought at first it could be the fan belts, or worse, the water pump. Before i take it to the mechanic.... I'd love some advice ....has anyone else had this problem... would a dose of wd40 help..... or is the mechanic the best option here..... Cheers Loz
  2. I can go forward and backwards..... but still learning sideway's..... 25 and still not game enough to really push the envelope..... i guess i want to keep my 23,000 dollar car in one piece..... and there are no skidpan's here on the C C .... and that doesn't help Loz
  3. Hicas....in the boot ..it's above all of teh other stuff.... there will be the window wiper box and then furthur back the hicas box. Mine got some water on it once (due to a dodgy rear window washer that squirts all over the Hicas not the window) and that caused it to go spastic... it's ok now. ECU is behind the passenger side kick Panel...... My oil pressure sits at above the 4 mark (normal) under load moves up towards 8....i had the mechanic check all that out and it's "fine" as far as he's concerned.... Sounds like you have a case of "lets add stuff to the wiring loom and then pull it all out before we sell it to an Australian Gai jin..." well maybe not... but i think you should see someone that know's a bit about the wiring on a japanese car to see if they can help you Loz
  4. Fuel pump.... maybe not pushing enough juice.... the mapping might be adjusting the mixture's too lean.... just a guess..... Loz
  5. Thanks guy's..... how's thge weather for the F1 today.... did you guy's notice that the ford rear wing's look similar to the GTR wing...
  6. Thanks guy's..... how's thge weather for the F1 today.... did you guy's notice that the ford rear wing's look similar to the GTR wing...
  7. Hey guy's what did/have you modified on your skyline's to achieve safe reliable 190-200 RWKW..?? was it worth it, and did it cost you much in the end. New or second hand products...?? Cheers Loz
  8. Isopropyl is also good for cleaning surfaces and cassette tapes...(yes they once existed)....
  9. Old Japanese rego stickers.....and GTS25T Gold Badge and the gold S on the grill But i like the look of the characters that say AKIRA ...that some of the Westside boy's have on their rear window's Now a new addition..... Caution: vehicle frequently sideway's LoZ

  13. what if you put on the original pipe to the cat and then leave the (bigger one) on from the cat back it might reduce it enough.....?!?!?!?? worst to worst.... fail the test.... fit stockie..... redo test..... drive around for a mnoth with stock on... then refit bigger.... or chat to an exhaust place and see if they can help you .... loz
  14. http://home.vicnet.net.au/~ozhog/Technical.../ozhogtech1.pdf this link might help to show how the test is to be done properly..... Breakdown.... Test to be done in open area..... Mic's to be placed on a 45 degree angle facing the exhaust.... RPM: 1-5 cyl 4,000 6 cyl 3,200 8 cyl 3,300 Rotary, 4,500 It should equate to approx 100-110 KPH (maximum speed of vehicle by LAW) (on road of course... ) No one else to be in the location during the test..... But have a read through it's very interesting.... oh and INASNT what sort of exhaust do you have.... Loz :burnout:
  15. yep.... the hicas is mounted to something else.... behind the diff.... a photo would help.... Damn that digital camera being broken...
  16. Close.... imagine the flat piece screwed to the wall..... my guess that is what it is there for.... to house the active diff stuff I guess we know now.....
  17. Left or right side...... on the exhaust side...(LHS) There is a hose and vent thing on mine,i think that is for runoff of something...is there anything on the otherside..... That's where the one in question is I thought it might be a secret compartment for something.... but it is exposed to the elements so that theory went out the window....
  18. No sorry guy's i can't provide a photo...due to one of our Cruiser girl's breaking the camera last week.... For those that have Skyline's if you can stick your head right under (if it's there) it will be bolted to the steel just down from the rear wheel.... ill try to locate a camera..... Loz
  19. As soon as i can find work's digital camera... ill take one.....
  20. While under the Skyline yesterday, checking out how the Hicas System works, I noticed a plastic basket thing bolted to the rear panel...(drivers side) Does anyone know what it is exactly, and what it's purpose was..or is... Cheers Loz
  21. Thanks guys....Good to see we all do the same.....
  22. It's something that I've heard along the grapevine.... but i know it's good for all cars to have a little idle warm up, to help the oil wind through the motor....
  23. So... how long do you guy's let your car(s) idle before you head off..... 1-2 min's 3-4 min's Longer...?? Loz
