I'm hearin ya.... im approaching 500 k's on the wear in of my Heavy Duty Clutch (non brand name) it was a little hoppy and shakey at first... but now it's gripping well. Soon to increase boost to see how it goes....

Light comes on usually if there ia a fault with HICAS....

Hicas kicks in properly at 80kmh and it moves the rear wheels .7 of a degree. Hardly enough to throw you off track during "Normal Driving" On the track yes it's tendancy to sharpen the angle of the car does make it tricky to judge the corner.... but after a few corners you get used to it. I have driven cars with and without HICAS on the track the car without HICAS and a rear brace is much more ridgid and "Feels" planted in the corner. Mine with HICAS the steering wheel tends to want to fight back but cornering is about the same in my opinion

Get your coil packs checked also..... a mate took his car in for a service and after Iridiums in (re gapped) it still misfired.... Turned out to be a faulty coil pack .... Something to keep in mind.... Loz

There's no real "Known" peak limit to the standard Turbo.... Usually you can get around 200 RWKW sometimes more depending on some factors (cams, fuel mapping etc) Stock Turbo's reach about 1 Bar of boost (14.7 PSI) after that they tend to become inefficient. Usually at the 200RWKW mark and some hard driving, the extra heat generated causes the glue on the ceramic turbine (all skylines came out with the ceramic turbine) to unstick... and BOOM there goes the turbo. The Stock Turbo's are made by IHI (Mitsubishi) no idea on spec's ...sorry

I got a open air wastegate outlet pipe, and three inch dump.... the increase was phenominal.... more torque, heaps better response.... 1 problem with open air wastegate..... the noise... it's loud proud and really rude when it opens... Great for the track but really loud for the street, i plan to plumb it back in to the pipe douwn near the CAT to try and lessen the turbulance....

For me the Fitting will be $300 Some places charge more or less depending on where you go.

Iijj , quote for me was 350 for standard clutch and 550 for heavy duty. twin plates go up and up from there... i plan on making more than 200RWKW so a heavy duty is rated to the 300 rwkw range. If i wanted to make over 300 RWKW (read many $$$$$) I'd have gone for a twin or Triple plate item. Personally get the best you can afford, cause there's nothing worse than making more power and the stock car parts can't handle it ..... I guess that's half the fun tho... Loz

Welcome to the clutch slip club..... 1. Wind boost to stock.... 2. Dont accel hard in 3rd 4th or 5th. 3. Start saving those $$$ I'm trying to save the $900 i need for a Heavy Duty mother...

The Turrr sound is BAD.... well sounds bad, that was on stock boost.... maybe higher boost will have the desired sound your after.... ot maybe just a louder TRRRRRRRR sound. I have the Blitz BOV and it makes 1 single realese noise PCHHHHT although you can tighten the spring (via screw) and it will make less noise and tighten it enough you get the TRRRRR sound. After being D fected (Blitz bov was unhooked due to manifold work) i decided ill leave the stock one going for a while.....

Maybe next time, tell the police you think he is under the influence.... of (something) that might get them there.... or say he Road Raged you....
