Thanks mate, I'll likely be asking who you got to paint it next
-
Yeah I have a mate over there, was just seeing if something was available locally. What should I be expecting to pay? I'm guessing new from Nissan would be ridiculously expensive?
-
Wanted: M35 Wing In an ideal world it'd be black and factory aero, but I'm interested in everything so long as it's in good condition and not enormous. Where: Would need to be sent to Adelaide or could possibly be picked up in Brisbane. Contact: PM on here is best.

I'm drawing up plans for a massive shed at the moment, only problem is it's an hour away from my house.

Yeah, have just heard lots of horror stories, and with cars that easily breach ADR's in numerous ways (defectable in SA regardless of engineering) I like the peace of mind.. if I can get it. Anyone had luck with Ryno insurance keeping the car in the driveway?
-
Unless you have a RWD M35 you're going to run into troubles with the Attesa system.

Thread dig! (Figure we may as well keep the info together) Anyone have insurance other than with Shannons, Famous or Just Car? I can't find anyone else. Shannons won't insure me because it's not garaged, which sucks because they've been great to me and my mates in the past. I'm too young for Famous (27). Soooo reluctant to even bother with Just Car comprehensive...

Hmm, might have to get the key in hand before I make this decision.
-
I may well do that, thanks Dunc!

Hmm ok I'll have to check it out once I get it. Are the factory alarms worthless then? Just cause trouble? Could you have had your alarm system work with the factory keys?

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Not yet - soon! I'll likely be hanging around these forums a fair bit from now on - first day back in the government job tomorrow after a fair while off. -

Yeah I was keen on WedsSport SA-67R's for my M35 until I realised that I'd either be cramming a 10" wheel onto my car or run a 9" wheel with spacers. I know Lense Corse do the LC818 but getting the right size is proving tricky (everyone wants to sell a staggered set). -
You had a standard alarm? Seems unheard of for imports, no? I'm sure mine doesn't have an alarm, maybe it would have an immobiliser? You guys would probably know better than I would..

Looks like I'll have a M35 Stagea in my driveway later this week or early the week after. First thing's first, it'll need an alarm. I believe the M35's have keyless entry, so I really want an alarm that will integrate with the standard keys - I don't want to have to unlock the car with my keys and then disarm the alarm with a keyfob or something like that. Does anyone have any suggestions for a quality system and installer in SA? Thanks

CE28! I forgot about them. Are they quality copies? I've been living in a carless world in the mountains of Canada for the last year and a bit - amazing how much has changed in the mean time lol. -

Hey Chris whats wheels are they? Mate of mine asked and I assumed XD9's at quick glance but they are indeed different, not to mention they don't make XD9's in 19"... -

Awesome, it looks sensational mate. Any rubbing at all with that combo? Did you just fold the lip up on the guards or did they need some pulling? -

Chris what size tyres do you have fitted on those wheels? -
I wouldn't worry too much about KM's personally. When buying an import you need to be sceptical of what is on the clock, it's very easy to have the clock wound back before it goes on the ship in Japan, or even before they go to auction. The black one on Carsales looks alright but is a bit of a "pov pack" Stagea from what I've seen. I considered it for a bit but realistically I'd end up replacing the exhaust with something aftermarket anyway, and the stereo is overkill for me. Always makes me smile when people install boost controllers and then only run the car with standard boost too. Sure, lol.

Awesome, thanks mate.

These still being sold? Could be keen on one in a month or so..

I don't mind a tightly fitted seat at all, I'm not very big person and have been craving my Recaros from my Evo in every car that I've driven since.
-
Hmm yeah, probably just overcomplicating the whole idea haha.

Really appreciate the answers fellas. This is looking like a go-er! Not sure if I mentioned it but I had a C34 S1 in the past. I didn't love it since it wasn't modified much (mannual conversion, wheels, suspension, cat back) but came from an Evo 7 so it's hard transition to make. That thing used to fit my bikes in the back with ease (with the back seats down, which is fine with me). That said, I'm curious if the car will run with the back window up, like everyone used to drive around with on their panel vans? The reason I ask is because it's hugely popular here in Canada just to hang the back wheel over either your tailgate on your "truck" or the rear door (like the M35 has). Obviously you need something to pad the car so you don't wreck your paintjob and bike. It's just an interesting thought I had - might allow bikes to go in the back without taking wheels off and even folding seats down. Recaros sound the goods Dunc. I'd definitely be tempted to chuck some nice reclining buckets in, would throw a spanner in the works if I got one with leather though...

Thanks for all the replies, it's appreciated. FYI I'm in Canada right now, won't be home for about a fortnight still which is when the car shopping begins. Really appreciate the help now though, means I can "hit the ground running" when we get back home. I have a couple more questions if that is cool... Firstly, how big are they compared to the C34? I used to be able to fit a mountain bike in the back without taking wheels off. Think that is doable in an M35? They look smaller from the outside in photos, but it is hard to tell. Also is a towbar a waste of time? I'm reading that it's only good for around 1000kg.. So from what I can tell, a 250T RS is all I "need", so long as it has the options I want. What are the differences between the RS and the RX? Do either of these two have HICAS as an option and is there a HICAS delete kit for them? Awesome news. Is there a thread about this somewhere? Any idea on price? It seems as though any time someone asks the question it doesn't get answered. Are the Japanese buttons on the dashboard replaceable in English? I read that someone was selling stickers for them but they weren't the best quality? Thanks mate, I appreciate the offer. Sounds like it'll be around the right time - life will be pretty crazy at that time though having just moved our lives back to Oz, so I con't commit just yet! How do they drive without the LSD? Are they easy enough to source second hand or would it be easier to get the HICAS and LSD model and just disable the HICAS? If I can find the time I will - but if not, definitely later on down the track! I must be the only person that doesn't like the Axis kit! Much prefer the "Aero". Not big on the tan leather either, in fact I don't really "need" leather at all, but if it was black I'd take it. What are the front seats like? Do they hold you in nicely? Has anyone thrown aftermarket seats in an M35 yet? Also I remember reading somewhere that to 10 stacker CD player is just waiting to swallow your CD's and never give them back. True? Or was that the DVD ROM?
