  1. I'm running BC BR's, mainly just so I could tweak the height. The guards are lipped. I did the front and rears since my mate had a guard roller handy, however Chris (who runs the same combo) and Ben (his brother) in Sydney tell me that you don't need to bother with the rears. My wife drives with this setup, and to give you an idea, she refuses to even try driving a manual and probably has never broken a speed limit in her life . Up close it looks awesome but from further away it just has a tough factory wagon look (in my opinion) - doesn't look too aggressive at all, so neither of us have ever felt like the cops are thinking about pulling us over. The only response we've had from them was a thumbs up from one once.
  2. It really depends on the profile of specific brands but I would say in general that a 225/40 would look pretty damn "square" on a 8.5" rim.
  3. +20 should be pretty safe. +25 is very safe. Ultimately it all depends on what height you're planning to run and what sort of camber you're comfortable with.
  4. Alright, so I probably should have zoomed in more. I had about 2 seconds to take the shot!
  5. Pretty sure it's a Balsinari. The Xanadu only has three "rows".
  6. Did not even know there was a group buy section.. Thought this was the official thread.
  7. Wait, so they've arrived?
  8. These wheels/tyres have done around 5000kms from new. The wheels were from a short run in 5x114.3. Seem to be really popular in the US for the BMW crew and were really hard to get in this stud pattern, size and colour. I don't believe they are still being made in this sizing so. Happy to be proven wrong, but I haven't seen another set in Oz! Perfect size for the M35 Stageas, but as we all know it's a great size for plenty of other cars too. Wheels: Avant Garde M310 Hyper Silver 19x9.5+20 5x114.3 No gutter rash! Tyres: Kuhmo KU31 245/40 R19 This package set me back well over $3000 just a few months ago. Asking $2750.
  9. Just had a conversation with a guy and his wife/girlfriend about my car. They stepped out of a R35 GTR - apparently the 4th one delivered to Aus - and were checking out my car for a minute or two, then came over for a friendly chat. It's nice to know that some people appreciate the M35 for what it is.
  10. Given that cops in SA can defect your car on "suspicion of ADR breach", and then you have to go to Regency to get it inspected - you have to either make it "100% legally modified" the first time, take the risk, or return it to stock. I always keep the stock parts just in case an Enforcer has had a bad day and decides to take it out on me.
  11. Why though? More cost to the exhaust and if you get defected it pretty much has to go back to stock anyway.
  12. So I may/may not have something else in the works. Perfect size for the M35's I reckon, and means my speedo runs nearly perfect at 100kmh. (can't actually remember the speed and my old man's GPS is 250km's away). Wheels: Avant Garde M310 Hyper Silver 19x9.5+20 5x114.3 No gutter rash! Tyres: Kuhmo KU31 245/40 R19 This package set me back well over $3000 just a few months ago. Looking to sell for $2750.
  13. Alright this is back up for sale. Cost me $540 plus $100 to have it professionally painted. I'd take $450 for it...
  14. I love the rampant selling in these threads. Here's some unbiased advice: Buy the cheapest dump and front pipe you can from (I believe the current 3 options are Scotty, Rex Kelway and AM). If you want more performance/noise, either decide between a locally made cat back or one from Japan. The jap unit will likely be better made than the local unit unless you find someone dedicated like AM or Rex Kelway, and personally I'd always go the Jap unit since there's better resale.
  15. Nah the old one is knackered. Charged it to 12.5 volts, after one start it was 11.5v, then next start it dropped to 10v. Been running sweet since.
  16. As above.
  17. Out of curiosity, what did that set you back?
  18. Reckon I better get underneath mine at some stage and take some snaps...
  19. Someone's cut out my baffles and chucked a resonator in there. Although the welds look too perfect for it to be an aftermarket job. Is the diameter the same Alex? Given that mine looks free-er flowing that both of those I'm guessing there's no real benefit.. Are there any standard front pipes that are worth upgrading to?
  20. Yep just swapped it over. It's never started so easily. Had to man handle the terminals though. Tiny jap shit.
  21. I've been interstate for the week, and the car has been sitting. Come home and it's flat - opened up the battery to see exposed plates, my bad! Topped it up yesterday and chucked it on the charger, Reckon it got about 6 hours last night and another hour or so this morning. Went to start it - no go. Looked at the power guage, and it was showing just over 6 volts. Chucked the multimeter on the battery terminals and it was around 11.5v. How accurate is the power gauge in the car? Reckon the problem is actually the battery?
  22. I have one in SA. Unsure of condition, haven't looked at it for about 8 months and never paid a lot of attention to it. PM me if you're interested.
  23. whats the benefit of the 350z/m35 midpipe? no cat? bigger diameter? or is it just the bank of baffles you lose?
