hey, We have a super turbo on our yard.. cool pc - correct me if i'm wrong but isnt the e15t a 4 cylinder? You're gonna have seriosu difficulty bolting that block to the super turbo as its only a 3 cyl :whatsthat Cheers, Paul.

Its the small track on your right as you enter the gates. i think the other one is called the 'LVMA'. The one we use is designed purely as a skid pan. Just to add to what I said previously its not high speed drift as some people imagine, it is slow controlled smooth movement - prob get to 40 kmh max usually less.

Ok, now i'm really gonna sound like a wan:whackit:er but, I've got the auto light thingo (i never use it), hole in the roof (it rattles a bit when its open, which is annoying), factory option body kit (theres a 1cm crack on the r/h side skirt), 5 speed tranny (auto has a lower effort factor) AND factory option nismo shocks and Lsd (now i can't get the full rice effect when i put a nismo sticker on my car cos i actually have nismo parts  ) (n.b all bracketed statements are to make the 'pov pack' owners feel better :Pimp2: ) Paul (do i get an unfair advantage cos i work at a yard :whatsthat )

I've been a fair few times Its a really good night, the last few times ive been weve organised it ourselves, its more fun to go with ppl you know - usually we do it on a friday night from about 530-930. It usually works out to be about $70 per person with a total of approx 15 people (that includes a bbq). You usually get about 3 runs, each run lasting about 10 mins (2 cars on the track at a time). That doesnt sound like much but its plenty when you're there. Good things that surprise people are : 1/ It really doesnt matter if youre takumi or crappumi 2/ It hardly damages you're tires as diesel and water are constantl poured on the track 3/ you can take as many seatbelted passengers as you like when you are on the track. I could get 5 people to come fairly easily. If there is a decent interest i don't mind helping you organise it druzilla...

Aftermarket BOV, performance or wank factor
Motorman replied to hypntk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Netrati, what ways are there? I have a 34 with power fc and hks atmo bov; after installing the bov (but before the pfc) i had the following issues: 1/ backfiring between gears (obviously unburnt fuel in the exhaust due to confusion of the afm) 2/ on idle it was like the engine was 'missing a beat', almost like it was dropping a cylinder. 3/ stalling on decelleration. I mentioned these problems to the tuner before the pfc was installed and he said to some degree he could 'iron' them out - I am assuming he would lean out the fuel mixture at idle rpm to stop the idle problem, i'm not sure exactly what he would have adjusted to stop the backfiring. When I got the car back 1/ and 2/ were completely fixed, but 3/ was hardly any better. Any suggestions? P.S I would change back to the standard bov but I can't stand the sound of the skyline spool with the trade mark stock bov, also it only really stalls if you try and make it do it.. -
I got a front mount installed a few days ago. The car is alot quicker all the way through the revs. I can't belive it actually seems to have less boost lag - theres alot more response all the way through the revs. It actually felt 'doughy' before, now it feels almost like 2 people have got out of the car. It hasn't been retuned yet, i'm not sure how much would have to be adjusted with just the addition of an intercooler... it will be done this week some time. I've driven a fair few cars (mainly 32's and 33's) with bigger front mounts and the same mods as mine minus the computer and really have felt hardly quicker than cars with stock coolers... maybe r34's with better breathing on the intake and exhaust and tighter a/f ratios really put alot more pressure on the stock cooler?? Either way i'm happy I'll get a dyno readout in a while and let you know - i'd be happy with anything over 190kw...

I have found out all R34's seem to emit this smell, only when they are warm. You can smell it from the exhaust but it seems to be more concentrated when it seeps into the cabin at lights.

Hmmm - cheers bass i'll see how I go. By the way I ran 13.9 @ 101mph with 2.21 60 foot - That was a 3500 launch (obviosuly not dropping the clutch) and it was on 19" chromes with 235's. Also remember its a sedan... Bass - how did you get a 1.9 60 foot? I was quite happy with this time - although shoudl i expect more? I think the sedan is at least 150kg heavier than the coupe?

Hi, Ive got a manual 34 with turbo back 3" exhaust, apexi pod, hks bov, avcr (0.7 bar) and power fc. The mods were fitted in this order first exhaust > pod > avcr > pfc. After I had the Power FC tuned I was slightly dissapointed with the 'increase' in power (it was tuned on the road, not a dyno by chapman & chapman). Since then I haven't been too worried about it as the car is running perfectly, and the tuner had ironed out a 'miss' I had on idle and some backfiring between gears caused by the atmo bov. It was only today that I realised my car is hardly any quicker than a standard manual sedan (judging purely by 'feel'). Just now i swapped back to my standard computer and it doesn't really feel hardly any slower..... I am going to run it on a dyno - My question is how much power (at least) should I expect? Dan666 was also in my car and agreed it should be a lot quicker...... Any ideas?? Cheers, Paul

Its definitely not the 'new exhaust smell' - I know exactly what you mean, that only lasted maybe 50kms from when I got the zorst done. I didn't think anyone would know, just thought there may have been a chance.; its a really unusual smell...maybe its me :whatsthat If it does sound familiar to anyone let me know your thoughts. If I find out what it is i'll let you know. Btw im pretty sure its not the cat as well. I might take it to the exhaust shop to get them to check for leaks in the system, although usually you'd hear that.. Dan - yer we've got plenty, not selling as many as we anticipated, I think all the 34 buyers are on holiday....

I've had this weird smell from my 34 more or less since I got it a month or so ago - i've noticed it a bit more lately. It has had new exhaust (3" system), clutch (heavy duty single plate) and brakes (new standard nissan pads) but the smell doesn't seem like any of those. It does it after a bit of driving - not necesarily giving it stick, and you notice it mostly when stopped at lights. The best way to describe the smell is like 'gunpowder', or if you've ever seen those balls you can get that crackle when you hit them togethor the smell is just like that. The car has been at several mechanics with various work carried out since i've noticed the smell and they haven't found it either. Its not that bad but it certainly shouldn't be there. I was wondering if anyone may have experienced anything like this. Its definitely not the smell of brakes or clutch btw - bear in mind i value cars for a living and have never experienced this smell before.. Any help would be really appreciated, Paul.

i've got an r34 with avcr. (I do also have power fc but i didn't have to vary the avcr settings after it was installed and tuned) I'm running 0.70 bar with 49% duty. 65% seems very high.... Mine is a manual which may make some difference but i'm not sure. You probably know - but the way to tune the avcr is to set boost and vary the duty (i do it in 2 % increments) up or down until you are consistently hitting the boost you set. Also when running 0.9 bar try not to do it for a long time because you will generate alot of heat and the turbo won't appreciate it. At all. Especailly with the standard cooler (if thats the case). EVERYONE has a different opinion about boost levels on the standard ceramic skyline turbos - The way I see it is you're better safe than sorry - besides i tried 0.9 bar and it felt hardly any better than 0.7 bar.. Now my question for you - one thing I don't understand about the avcr is the 'learning' mode? How do you activate it? If you set a duty percentage, the next day or so it will show *** and if you press 'NEXT; it will show a boost/revs graph which obviously allows you to vary the duty at any given RPM - why is it automatically switching to the ***'s???
