  1. Dunno about the pulsar/Datsun, but the Echo has a 4x100 stud pattern Hope that helps!
  2. D'oh! If they're just checking engine numbers etc then that should be alright.
  3. Aah, cool... thanks guys. I guess i'll just cross that bridge when i get to it. Doesnt sound like it happens to too many people anyway Abflug, I've just sent you a PM...
  4. D'Oh! My parents live in Coffs Harbour, and i was planning on driving my VIP Cima up there to show it to them once its registered. I guess not then!
  5. I was down at the RTA transferring the registration for a car i had just bought when i started talking to the guy about the 15yr old car i'm importing (i was asking whether it is possible to drive it to the compliance workshop - which it is apparently). But then he told me that after it gets the blue slip it may get knocked back by the RTA, meaning it has to go for a 3rd Tier inspection at an RTA station (because its more than 10yrs old). He said that it might not happen, but that i should prepare for it so that its not a surprise Has anyone had that happen to them? Is this common? I've heard they are extra strict there...
  6. Well, here's to hoping it was done properly!
  7. When is the car supposed to have been degassed? Is that stuff submitted when the import approval is done? I bought a car in japan which already had the import approval done; so i dont have the paperwork for it. Hope it was done properly!!! 'exported/destroyed' is a bit scary!
  8. I had a Brant in my Soarer - it was the most useless alarm i've used. Had to practically hold the transmitter on the car to lock it, yet on quite a few occasions i'd be walking away from my car (20-50m) and i'd hear my car unlock (no idea how that happened, but i had to walk back to the car to lock it!). Transmitter batteries lasted about 2 months because you had to hold the button down for about 3 seconds to lock/unlock it No idea about how easy it was to bypass, but it just gave me the shits. Young and Cool insurance required it though. Alot of people i know had gone back several times for replacement modules...
  9. Hey guys, i'm importing a car with a far few mods (i.e. widebody, shaved door handles), and i intend to do the compliance myself. Does anyone know of an easy engineer in Sydney that would not be too harsh on my car? I've just read a bunch of 'Stolen skyline' stories so i wont post many other details, but yeah, if you know of anywhere, please PM me the contact details. Oh, and i already have the RTA list; i just want to know places that are more 'lax' than others :headspin: Thanks!
  10. Can a rear facing vent just be covered on the inside with a bit of plastic/plywood glued on there? Are those regulations valid for NSW?
  11. Xenon headlights, rear spoiler, rego/warranty (not quite sure on that, but it wouldnt matter). Keyless entry Aero (bodykit) Aftermarket TV/Navigation and audio Some marks on the interior room small scratches, small holes(?)
