  1. yeah mate go the bell mouth.............should be able to sell the split dump.....alot of people have no issues with them
  2. ok i will go check it out tommorow night......i know it was on an r33 currently on a rb25 long motor......so hopefully it will be a bolt on............will update tommorrow night. Cheers Mick
  3. so my dump pipe will bolt straight up to it?
  4. Mate got it sorted with a bell mouth dump Your problem deffinately would be the nipple from the cooler pipe to your controller/solenoid. take off the small pipe next to the cross over pipe buy an aluminium threaded nipple and tap a thread in the pipe screw in your nipple....use some sort of silicone and screw it in........problem solved. Good luck.
  5. Bell mouth.......100% agree with cheez from personal experience.....the split ones are a poor fit. the ones i have seen anyway
  6. Ok guys i am buying a T3 Hi Flow for my 33...... i know alot of you guys don't agree with putting these on and i can see why.....but i am still going to give it a go. Just want to know what modifications i need to make to make it fit and work..........ie dump pipe, oil/water lines As far as i am aware it should bolt straight up to my manifold. correct? Mike
  7. Thanks abu.....they are great units for a quick fix for R&R and to lean out a bit for economy
  8. I am convinced it is the splitter pipe........i saw another post somewhere with a very similar problem .....i disconected the wastegate linkage and the wastegate opens freely.....which leads me to my next question Should there be any resistance in the movement of the wastgate? mine feels as if there is nothing connected inside the turbo....... Thanks for your help Mick
  9. Ok so i have searched for about an hour and i need to know something really simple My engine has a really loose timing belt and i want to know if it has jumped any teeth on the cams Can someone tell me where the small dots on the front of the cam gears should line up in relation to the marks on the timing case backing plate. At top dead centre on compression or any other condition (please specify) Thanks in advance Or even better would be a link to the engine manual Mick
  10. I'm pulling out my SAFCII to replace it with a link ecu Couple of minor scratches After $260 Located in tempe. (Sydney)
  11. Anyone>?
  12. I have just done a few basic mods to my 33. FMIC AVCR SAFCII 3Inch turbo back Hi flow Cat Now my problem is the car runs too much boost. i disconected the AVCR and ran a straight line from the IC cold pipe to the turbo wastegate........ All seems ok until WOT where the boost will get upto about .84Bar on the AVCR All i can think of is the actuator could be screwed (but was fine before the exhaust and CAT) Or the nipple in the IC piping may be leaking but i dont think so. Could the splitter pipe on the dump/front pipe be causing this..... Really run out of ideas....so anything will be helpful. Thanks Guys P.S if i use the AVCR i can bring boost on quicker and harder in the lower rev range but up around 4500 it will start to creep
  13. yeah dude go for it....i fitted one last weekend....... few things to note. *search for the instructions to fit a hybrid cooler. it has pretty much the exact location to cut the hole...i cut mine a cm or two further back so i wouldn't have to trim the fan. * there is no nipple on the piping for the boost control.....i just tapped a thread in the piping and used some loctite...to seal it in there * headlights were a bit of a shjt to get back in....had to modify a little bit. * Angle grinder and jig saw are your best friends doing this job Good luck man....if you need any advice throw me a pm as its still pretty fresh in my mind. Mick
  14. thanks guys i will make a few phone calls tommorrow and see roughly how much it will cost me to tune........it has already been tuned on an r33 but with a whole bunch more mods than my one. don't know if that will aid my cause at all another thing.....i heard that with the link you need to advance the CAS all the way.....this doesn't seem right to me......any input? lol phrase........if i change my mind i will let you know first........ Cheers
  15. Hey guys i have the chance to get a link ECU pretty cheap What i need to know is: Is it a good ECU? Who tunes them in sydney? What are the costs involved in tuning them in sydney? I need to know whether to hang on to my safc II or sell it and buy the link. What do you guys think? Thanks Mike
  16. Hey fellas, Finishing up a few mods to my 33 and want to know who is a good tuner to use in sydney and well priced that knows RB engines well? Cheers guys Mike
  17. $150 for rears, ohlins, and gold front springs.............. i know its low but its an offer can pick up anytime
  18. you should be able to pick up an R31 box cheap from the wreckers. should bolt up the same just don't have the double synchros on the first three gears. (someone correct me if im wrong) R32 GTST box will be exactly the same if your on a real tight budget they are worth considering.... Good luck mate.
  19. Thanks Mate received and installed the safcII yesterday.......good stuff.......just gotta figure out how to use it.. If i figure out how to use the trader rating i will leave you a good comment...... Thanks again Mick
  20. hahaha don't need a washing machine........just need a cheap fridge for my workshop......$100 and i'll take it.......im only at tempe so if you cant get the money you want for it just throw me a pm.......\
  21. i'll offer $100 pickup whenever........ Mick
  22. Sounds like you are losing power to your injectors under cranking check with an led test light have to agree with rob it will deffinately be something simple...... sounds stupid but make sure the 10mm on the wiring harness of the ecu plug is tight........im an auto electrician and i chased a problem nearly identical to yours on a rb25 conversion in a R31 for about an hour only to find i forgot to do up that stupid bolt..... Good luck.....you'll sort it out
  23. Seen it done plenty of times, usually with bosch GT40's (essentially the same thing) wiring is extreemly basic, just extend and add the right plug not too sure how the ignitor would hold up.....can't see there being a problem though
  24. I have a series 2 engine in the car will the rb20 ecu still work? sounds like a much better investment than the safc 2 i just bought. apparently the safc2 i bought has a 192rwkw tune on it.....how safe is it to run that tune on my car...... I have a diagnostic tool that i can monitor the knock signal and rich/lean mixtures while driving......if i have no detonation or continual rich/lean running .......it should be alright yes?
  25. real keen on the safc 2 if you;ll post to sydney Let me know
