Hey guys, i'm looking to upgrade to what I see as the pinnacle in my automotive interest. I started with an R32 GTST (loved the turbo, loved the feel of the car) then moved onto an R34 GTT (loved as the previous, but also the more modern feel, better condition etc) Now I want to move onto an R34 GTR but I realise I don't know all that much about them. I've been looking at them for the past few weeks but was just wondering if anyone could help me out with a few things. 1) What is the average cost of an R34 GTR? Ie what is the amount of money I should set aside to get myself a good conditioned low km R34. 2) What is the reason for the huge price differences between some of the R34 GTR? As an example if you look at this link (it was a price sorted r34 search but doesn't seem to work as a link) there's upto $20,000 difference between GTR of similar year, mods etc. How much would YOU pay for a stock or lightly modified 1999-2001 GTR? 3) Am I looking at saving much money if I import one myself? I imported my R32 GTST and hated the experience (mainly because i bought a bit of a dud) My R34 GTT I got from perth so had a few hassles with blue slip etc. So i'm opting for buying one from NSW but if there's a huge saving/more choice to be had from importing... 4) Will they hold their value well? I know they're the last of the 'old school' style skylines, so I figure that will act in their favour a bit... Is the price going to drop dramatically if i wait a year or two? 5) Will it be much of an improvement over my R34 GTT? It's the nicest car I've ever driven... with 200rwkw and HKS suspension etc. But i'm hoping a car worth twice the money will be twice as nice. (maybe not twice, but nicer?) 6) How much power would I expect from a stock car? I know they quote 206kw but any dynos to show actual awkw or rwkw? At the moment i'm budgeting around $60,000 and would love a Bayside Blue one like my GTT, but I won't be purchasing it for 6-12months (buying a house first)

Well when I changed mine it gave me an inflated sense of masculinity... which is kinda nice. But I don't think the type of oil really affected that.

Hey thanks mate, I actually read around a bit and ended up taking 300v back and getting 5L of the Motul turbolite 10w40. Was a lot cheaper than the 4L of 300v and as you mentioned I didn't want to run the risk of it getting 'too' thin. Anyway all went well and the car feels so much nicer to drive

Hey guys just looking at doing an oil change for my R34 GTT. I bought some Motul 300v 5W30 is that going to be okay? At the moment the max temps down here are around the high 20s/low 30s but avgs around mid 20s. The car currently has elf 10w/50 in it. Also is 4L enough or do I need to go buy another 2L container? (was the only size they had)

Can't you take it to a cop station or some place and get them to check whether it's legitimate or something? (ie not fake money) I saw a guy walk in there once and pull out a few thousand in 50s and got it checked.

I paid for an item last week and he emailed me to confirm it had all gone through and they were just waiting to recieve the item in Japan. Sometimes he must be busy and gets a bit slow but I always get a respone eventually.

Your car is famous, sell it on ebay! How many calls are police going to get regarding innocent people just driving around in the skyline with a few mates in there.. better safe than sorry though I guess. I wouldnt' be driving an expensive car if I couldn't afford comprehensive insurance, my nerves would be shot everytime I took it for a drive.

I'm not a huge fan of the dash... or the front bar for that matter. And some hooligan has grafittied the side of the car with spray paint! Actually the front bar looks good from the side but i don't like it front on.

Yeah if you find you need splitfires get them from Nengun or Perfectrun. Should only cost you about $550 delivered and maybe 1-2 weeks delivery time. If it was the coilpacks wouldn't the car be misfiring? Or can they cause other problems as well...?

My R34 GTT needs a new clutch... was going to go for a twin plate, but maybe Jim is the better option? I'm in NSW so can he build it all for me, then send it here and I get it installed by someone else? It's for an R34 GTT and I want it to be able to hold about 265rwkw, does anyone have a rough idea on how much it'd cost?

Any idea why, on the rpm graph Abo Bob is neck and neck with AM-Performance, but based on the speed graph it looks like AM blows him away.

Is it possible to generate RPMs from my speeds? I filled in the following (hopefully correctly) but it doesn't save and i can't seem to get it to generate rpm figures. Tyre width 225 Tyre profile 45 Rim size 17 inches Gear Ratio Used 1 Final Drive 4.11

Yeah my bayside blue R34 GTT is an 01/2000, so series 1 with the dark gauges. Seems like there's 3 of us with tv2 r34 gtt on here... and i think choyda has one too.

If I can't get any radio reception in my R34 GTT (has a kenwood mp3 player) is it likely that the antenna just isn't hooked up? I can see the line down the rear window which I assume is the antenna. Do you mean the plug from the standard R34 antenna won't plug into my headunit?

I'm definitely interested too, I think it's a great idea that will end up getting a lot of use, especially as the number of cars added into it grow. It will also save a lot of people from posting threads asking about what sort of power they can expect from specific mods/turbos etc.

Ah okay, here's my numbers if someone could add them in. They start at 60km/hr and go through to 183km/hr.
