Modifications vs Legalities - Q&A Night
locutus_of_bris replied to locutus_of_bris's topic in Queensland
You'd be more than welcome to come along, the only factor is if they set a max group size, but I don't think we will have a huge number there. I'll be ringing again to chase up the date when I am back in the country (late next week). Cheers D -
Modifications vs Legalities - Q&A Night

Quick update - still waiting to hear of a suitable date for them. As soon as this happens we can make a list of questions and submit them. I'll be lucky to be online much in the next 2 weeks as heading OS, but hope to have an answer by the time I am back. Cheers (and thanks for your patience) D -
Yes, I still want to come. It's hard to say how much notice I need, but once a date is set then I can confirm. If it's still a sunday then three should be no problem at all being there.

I'm with Suncorp, which was one of about 3 I could find that would touch an inport with mods. Premium is sub $700 (can't remember the exact figure) for full comp, and have mags, exhaust, suspension and stereo all listed on the policy. No one else came close to that for rating 1 over 25 when I was looking in late Jan this year.

Modifications vs Legalities - Q&A Night

Yup, I have been talking to the guy and just working out a suitable date when he and a mechanic can be there together. Mondays are still looking good, and I will be asking for a min of 4 weeks notice. I'll start up a questions thread as soon as the date is set. Cheers D -
If at all possible can it not be the 18th of October - Sprints are on. Thanks, and I'll be there

Thanks for the warning Smoothline. Can I ask what suburb this was in?

Try ringing Nissan, I got my rack ends from them, they were in stock, cheap enough and hand delivered. It can be a surprisingly good option.

Quick update - still waiting for date confirmation from police. As soon as I have that it's open for questions to be submitted, and people to confirm they are coming. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. Cheers D -
Yup, I'm making this one. Just say the date and it's booked.

in with a chance. is there any confirmation of the details from above? like cost and spectators? I guess the same gear as QLD raceway is enough (long sleeves, pants, boots, helmet). See how things go, but would be keen to try it out.
-
racecar was good, thsi should be better. I'll be tuned in

Modifications vs Legalities - Q&A Night

Thanks all for your suggestions so far. This is what's new: 1. It will be on a monday night 2. The venue is sorted - Bob Jane Toombul 3. Start time aiming for 6pm for food, with 6.30 kick-off I will be rining the police to confirm a date, hopefully tomorrow. I am looking to do this on the 18th or 25th of next month, depending on the availability of the police. As soon as there is a date set I will setup a new thread with a list of names of people coming, and then open it up for questions to be submitted. I would like to send them into the police a week before hand so they can research if required. Thanks again to all who have posted. Feel free to post in here if you can make it, or if you now can't. I hope to be able to have the final date and time up by the weekend. Thanks D -
Thanks for everyone who has posted, it's great to see such a positive response. So far it's looking like a monday or wednesday night, so if you haven't posted yet and have a preference please do so by tomorrow night. Qikr33 - thanks for the offer. At this stage the officer who has contacted me was a hoon squad sargent, who does field work (as in chasing people around). He also mentioned he can bring a police mechanic, so I will confirm this with him when I next speak to him. I'll let you know how it goes. Boxhead - yes, I'll be happy to take notes. I actually want to see if we can get documentation we can copy from the police on this, and also take minutes and get the police to then "sign off" on them to say that's what happened. Bryanlee - thanks for the offer. I'm not sure we should video it, but I will suggest it to the guy next time I speak to him. Are you coming? Wasn't sure from your post. Krys - are you coming or toasting someone? Ok, please post if you haven't done so already and advise availability. After tomorrow I will persue the venue and confirm that, and also being asking for questions to be submitted as it would be good to give these guys some notice of what we are after. Thanks again to all. D

Hi there. Good to have you aboard. Hope to see you on a cruise or event too if you can make it. Keep an eye on the Events forum under the QLD forum for places to have legal fun. See you around. D

so far on all of my cars i have totally eliminated all squeeling by using the "stop squeel" compound. Its available from most automotive stores, is fluroescent orange, and comes in a bottle of maybe 200 or 300 mLs (there abouts). Its like a high temp silicon compound and you put it between the back of the pad and the antisqueel shim or brake caliper, and hush, it's all gone. It's fixed 3 out of 3 for me so far so could be a cheap fix for you.

On the ever so thrilling drive to work down the gateway this morning (at about 5kph for an hour) there was a Black 33, very nice machine. I was right behind it and then went down sandgate road, and came backonto the highway at the airport a whole 2 cars in front of it. Got to love that road. Also saw what I think was a medium blue 32 on the southside about 9ish wednesday night, around the mt gravatt area. I think I am yet to see anothee line I know out and about (with the exception of track days).

Saw a very neat (and I mean VERY NEAT) white R33 at the Maroochy Waterfront hotel on sunday. Wonder if it will be out for the cruise next sat night?

Just thought I would see if this works. I wouldn't know half the people in here if I ran over them, but most likely see you passing all the time, so I though people could post here if they wanted to see if someone was in the club/group, and if not then let them know if you see them often enough. So of course, me first :burnout: Is it anyone in here who has a really nice 2 door Black R33, and works or parks at a business in Holt St, Pinkenba (saw it today 26-6-2003)? Looks like it is a newly registered machine, and very neat. Comes from Bris St Machines too.

Mobil don't see their 98RON fuel in QLD, only south of the border from what I have seen. I also read a thread saying how the extra additives in the Optimax, when left unburnt (yeah, lines on boost don't burn half the fuel they use) the fuel causes stains on the paintwork on the rear, and needed buffing off. So yeah, I use ultimate. I guess they are much the same, but BP's seem to have more servos and I tend to need filling up a fair bit. Thats my bit

6th that, certainly.

Cool. I'll post in the events then and see who and whats happening. thanks boxy

what does it cost just to spectate. I would like to come out at some stage just to see how it all goes, then run it some time when its tuned properly.

Exactly right Slip. 4Doorz, they are what I was tearing appart saturday. They were working well, but they are taking a beating. Semi slicks should take it better as they are designed more for it, I hope

Yup, I could be talked into that (ok, you don't need to talk me into it, I'm there). Used to live on the coast so will be good to cruise up there
