  1. what types of semi slicks are out there? So far i have seen the dunlop and yoko's, and the bridestones mentioned above sound ok. Whats the other options, since i am hunting for some too. thanks all
  2. Sounds good Slip. Can we consider doing this on a Sunday arvo/ night as it always seems so many people can't do things saturday for work and other stuff. If it is a Saturday either the 1st of last sat of July is good. Any Sunday is fine, although early starts on sundays would be bad depending on what sat night was like. Thats my thoughts anyway. What do people think of sundays? any good?
  3. Well I actually have sent an email to the Qld police service asking for their thoughts on the matter (of having a discussion). If anything comes of it I will post it up of course.
  4. ok 51Jay, so whats the new method. Mine used about 2.7L to fill, how do you squeeze more in?
  5. Me again Call it my monthly checkin. Antually, it's more a question about stickers. Is there any plans to have SAU stickers available soon? I see they are available from NSW and was wondering if we will be getting the same ones, and if so any possbile timing. It would make events easier if we knew who was who (or at least from the forums) That's it from me...........till next time
  6. thanks nismoman18. yeah, i have a diagram of which wire to cut to disable it, but last time at qld raceway i hit 175 and was wondering how harsh it would be to hit it at 180 going into turn 1. I might play it safe and disable it before next run. thanks
  7. Just checking if anyone has ever hit their speed limiter in an R33, and what it's like (harsh or gentle). I have been track racing and been getting very close to the 180km/h and wondering how it feels when it kicks in. And yeah, I know how to disconnect it, just wondering if it's worth doing. Thanks D
  8. Hi and welcome
  9. Did you hit the speed limiter or the rev limiter? Neither should really cause this though, rev limiter is fairly gentle
  10. Welcome aboard. Keep your eyes on the events forum (under the qld forum) and see if you can make it to a few. Will be good to check this car out thats for sure.
  11. You will see a lot of damaged and written off cars at auction. Once the insurance company settles they are often left with the car, and sell it to recoup costs. You can check out car auction sites for details. There always seems to be a good supply of dead lines in there. http://www.fowles.com.au/auctions/auctionL...asp?office=AU40 http://www.pickles.com.au/
  12. I am thinking of doing mine too. All I would do it take off output pipe from the resivour and put it into a container of new fluid, and hook the return up to a small bucket or something. Then get someone to run the car until you have flushed like a litre of something through, or colour clears up. Then reconnect and refil with new fluid. As far as I know it's only auto trans fluid, so its not expensive to flush it with a litre or 2. If this is wrong, please tell me now. It worked on my commodore though (although thats no miracle).
  13. I have noticed my climate control has a mind of it's own. Depending on something (phase of the moon? I really don't know) it will start on floor, vents or half and half, then change later. It may have something to do with where it senses the biggest temp difference or something. It's heat settings seem to work ok though, and if I don't like what it defaults to then I over-ride it.
  14. Thanks people. I will check em out and see what my options are.
  15. http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/ won't help you much, but you'll see why
  16. I'm looking for someone who can get and fit exhaust front pipes (dump pipe) on R33's. Can anyone recommend an exhaust shop or performance tuner that can do this, preferably in brisbane. Thanks D
  17. Well is anything happening? Doesn't look like it
  18. Due to the overwhelming demand I have been forced to find something else to do We'll start another thread in a while and see what happens.
  19. see jaycar for a half decent one. I got one from there recently, 5km 40channel job, all good for under $100. i guess dick smith would have them too (and tandy too)
  20. Looking for a set of GTR 32,33 or 34 calipers. They should have an OD of 324mm, deph of 53.75mm and rotor thickness of 30mm. If you have any, or know of any for sale can you please contact the following email address: matthewb@voxson.com Thanks
  21. Can someone define for me what a mountain run is (even by pm). I think it might be better to leave the cruise for cruising and the "mad" bits for track days. If you want to cut loose go to a track, go insane, and have fun. A nice cruise somewhere a bit different, lunch and social event would be just fine. Thats my bit anyway. Hope this can be a great day out for us
  22. I can only agree with Slip. Once the club is up and running we may be able to get more interest, commitment and team work from people. The Sprint days are a prime example. Many clubs have championships for events (which can include all kinds of things, like sprints, drags, show and shine, cruise, and general attendance). So far the count at any event mentioned in the events forum here has been fairly low to non-existant. I know its early days still, and I know people have very good reasons, but I tend to think until the club becomes official and there is a structure things won't change much. That aside, stay positive about this. We have a good variety of events happening (official or not) and it should cater for all types and interests in this club. I'd love to see more people at the events, but it's up to each individual to get involved. The only thing I can say is don't be backward in coming forward. As NismoGirl has said, get off your butts and come along. There is more enjoyment to owning a performance car than you may imagine.
  23. Well hope the car goes well for you Pinto. Better start planning the 2nd one then
  24. Ok then people. Is anyone up for a cruise this fri night - 6.30 to 7pm at roma street parklands. If so please post in here (no point making a separate thread at this stage, if it becomes regular then we can go for threads then). Post here if you are coming, thinking of it or can't make it, then we at least know whats happening. Thanks all {EDIT} of course we can hang there to wait for people who can only get there later, the whole idea is we actually catch up and get to know each other as well as cruising around. This is a "social" event as much as anything.
  25. I guess not
