Yup, I could be talked into that. When you set a date please allow plenty of time for people to put asside the time. Maybe late June (not the 21th though). Sunday 22nd? or the weekned after? But yes, would be nice.

Hey Pinto, hope the car is ok. Sounds like something went bump in the night?? Anyway, can we set it for this week so we can at least make a start. Can I suggest Roma St Carpark (alongside the grass field area), from about 6.30. We can then maybe have a discussion about places to go. I don't know bris all that well but surely someone does. Once we do one then we can discuss more, how to make them better, and where we have them etc. We have to start somewhere, and it's not going to be perfect the first time. But it doesn't have to be organised to the nth degree, this is meant to be a casual get-together and cruise. If you want to go somewhere to thrash your car come out to the sprint days. I'd like to have the venue and time set for tongiht so we can post in the events thread and move this one forward. Please advise if this is too early for you today and we'll set it. Then we can review for next time where and when we do whatever we will do. Thanks D

All sounding good so far. Keep the ideas coming and we'll take them all in. For the meeting place it doesn't have to be the same each week. To make it interesting we could meeting somewhere a bit different each week. This could be as far as meeting on the GC, half way, in bris, west, east. There's heaps of people in here who are new to Brisvegas, maybe we can show them around a bit instead of doing the same thing each week. And of course we won't all be there each week, but it doesn't take many cars to make it enjoyable either. One more thought. Can we set a target here, say decide on the place and time by the end of the weekend, so we can allow time for responses. and is 6.30 a good meeting time?

I think a regular time would be good, like friday arvo's. Let's not make it too official though, just keep it social. A simple thread once we get the basics sorted, and then its just who's coming. If it's simple it might just work. That said, lets do it. Next friday for round 1? Yes, stickers would be great but don't think that will happen before then. The more we get out and do things like this the more we will get to know each other and the cars. Ok, before we even think of the place, what time do we wanna kick this thing off. Maybe 6 or 6.30 so people get a chance to escape from work?

Sounds good so far. Well a simple weekly thread in the events area would make it simple. It can be moved each week if we wanted to, or cruise somewhere different each week but meet at the same place. All just ideas at this stage. And yes, I wont be there every week either but it would be good when i can make it.

Well for bris somewhere central and easy to park would be nice. Roma St parklands comes to mind. I wouldn't know down the GC though

The injectors will make a ticking noise, so don't panic if its that. Its hard to judge really, best to ask someone who does know and try to then judge for yourself. Hope that helps

Ditto. There was mention of it in a really old thread (in a club registration thread) but it looks like it never quite took off. But yes, a casual cruise/meetup would be nice. Lets throw ideas around in here One thought is we could alternate between bris and the GC to make it easier for all, and if you don't want to go sometimes then no big deal. Would be nice to have more regular smaller events, they're easier I guess. Thanks my bit anyway

Might make a good day of it when i have a few more mods, sprints then strip. Cant this sat anyway, heading out afterwards. Hope you all have fun though, and post times for us
-
Lambo, check the events page for the official thread. all details of meeting place (roma st parklands) and website for sprints are there. If you have any questions post in there or pm me. see you there

I'm going about 500 meters past willowbank on saturday. sprint day is on. Would be nice to do the 1/4 in the riceline, but not till i do a few more things. Till then its corners for me

Yeah, got that sorted. Will crive the relay from 2 diodes and have an either/or setup. I dont think the load of the extra thermofan should stall the enigne, but your right, the compressor certainly would.
-
Thanks Abu51. Sounds like you guys are all putting in lots of effort, and it's appreciated. Of course, if we can help in any way say the word, I'm sure there are many willing and able people in here. Cheers D

Thanks Blind Elk. This is kind of what I expected now, although it's an odd way of doing it. I am thinking of re-wiring it so that it will come on either if the air-con is on or the over-temp function. Easy to mod so might just do this and live with it.
-
Thanks Henros. I tried running it with air-con on and full load of lights and it warmed up to half and stayed there, but thermo never turned on. I have checked wiring and fuse/relay but need to know when it should turn on before i dig further. Thanks

Someone with an R33 - can you help?

Hi Crooser. Yeah, I have checked wiring from fan bacl to the fuse and relay in the engine bay, and have the dash partly dismantled and about to go into the loom and dash fuse box. So far it looks normal, but I need to know when it should turn on and off. From how it is setup I would expect it to run with the air-con compressor, but it is labeles radiator fan so could be temp. Just ran it for 20mins and car gets to half temp and stays there but fan still never runs, and didnt run at the track day after racing. What I really need is to find someone who has seen their fan run or knows when it should. I could be chasing a non-fault yet and dont want to go too deep before I can confirm when it should be on. Sorry for the ramble. When I do find out I will post anyway, so we all know what to expect. -
Someone with an R33 - can you help?

Cool. Thanks people. I will go out and let it run and see if/when it fires up. dont want to take it appart any further unless i know what it SHOULD do. Cheers D -
I am chasing a fault (well i think its a fault) in my air con system. I need someone with a R33 to let me know if the fan on the front of the condenser runs whenever the air-con compressor is clutched in. My fan never runs, but i need to make sure of when it should run before i rip anythine else appart (its far enough appart already). Thanks in advance D
-
I have just noticed that the electric fan on the air con condenser (on the front of the car) never runs. I am guessing it should run whenever the air-con compressor is clutched in. I have checked the relays and fuses under the bonnet, and all the fuses in the dash and boot. Power is available at the main relay but its not switching. Has anyone had this before? And can someone confirm that the fan should run whenever the air-con compressor is clutched in? Thanks D

Redline Gearbox Oil problems
locutus_of_bris replied to rb25's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah, I agree. It won't be an expansion problem that's for sure. Maybe (if your rich) do a change to the light-weight (blue) if you want to change it again sometime. -
you could easily mod it to alter the turbo timer on the Jaycar kit. But of course you need to build it too. But yeah, it's certainly an option
-
Just popping this one back up to see how things are going. Not being pushy just showing an interest. So hows things executive peoples? edit: Also saw a really old thread about a weekly meeting, which I guess would be like a fri night (or one afternoon). Did that ever happen, and anyone got thoughts about it?

I am thinking of getting a wolf 3d ver4 fitted and am looking around at the moment. I would go to brisbane tuning and turbo but they are never open weekends and thats the only time i have. autronic would be ideal but dont think the budget will go that far. if anyone has any thoughts or recommendations for the ecu or the person to do it please let us know. thanks D
-
Hey Al, just checking what model wolf 3d was it? I am looking at doing this as my next mod, then its ready for anything else i want to do in the future thanks
