Yup, pretty much nismoman18. just dont overtighten or strip the thread in the head. nothing too special to it
-
Yeah, I got my R33 man turbo for $17k, and its fairly tidy. I did also see some at $16k that were damn rusty so just take your time checking them out. If you need to get someone to help you, it might save you a lot of stress later on
-
Well the only thing I have done to my car so far is put a full set of decent tyres on it (SO3's) and got an alignment (after changing the rack ends that were stuffed). Don't underestimate the difference good tyres can make to a car. It makes the car a lot more stable and predictable, and then controllable. In terms off track times I have done the same time with good tyres on and 7psi as I did with crap tyres and 10psi (to the 100th of a second). Power won't get you far if you cant corner at the ends Brakes will be next as I met Slips brake man at the last track day, so new pads soon, then rotors some time later. Also looking at having my exhaust checked out to make sure it's decent and then ECU upgrade. Anyone who has any suggestions for ECU of place to talk to please let me know. Thats it for now. More news/plans after I get paid again

Next time I am there. Thats twice now I have missed out. So next time just make a day and count me in (that is of course pending the car surviving til then
-
Welcome aboard. Keeo your eyes on the events page for upcoming events (ok, so its kind of obvious). Might see you at the sprint day
-
So is halflife included in that list? Not that I can make it anyway, but yeah, it's hard to beat
-
I agree. I got mine via the trading post. I took about 10 cars for a test drive and it was obvious which ones were good and which ones sucked. In the end I got an R33 for $17k, its neat and tidy and reasonably fast for close to stock. I also got insurance for $680ish, but I'm old and have a decent driving record. Check all the online insurers for quotes and ring around, and setup the online trading post to email you all the R32 ads. It's worth the effort.

Cheap is not easy, but good tyres & advice, definately Bob Jane at Toombul (Steve or Stuart). They may do 2nd hand, not sure, but could be worth a shot. Mention your from the skyline club too, of course.

If you can't find a supplier for the redline oils try Coventry Auto Parts. I think they are Australia wide and generally stock it. But don't pay retail (which I was quoted at $150). I ended up paying $110, which I am sure you can talk them into.
-
Yup, just confirming the above is the right part numbers. They fit and are so much tighter than the sloppy ones I had before that corners will be heaps better. I can certainly recommend spending the few hours it will take you, and the $150, to do this if you have movement in your rack ends.

Well it's getting there. I just got 2 in from Nissan. They are both the same (left and right). The part number is 48521-15U26 "Socket Kit-Rod". They cost about $75 each inc, which wasn't too bad I thought. Also was delivered in 24 hours. One thing to note was when I was enquiring with Nissan they wanted the original Jananesse Chassis #, not the Australian Plate number (or Aus type). They don't trust the model given to them when imported so go from the original. They can reference all of this at their end so it makes sure you get the right parts. They seem easy enough to change, but if you have problems let me know. I might even do a HOW-TO guide if I get really bored, but don't count on it. Cheers D

I've had a quick look into it but never found anyone (yet). If you find someone definately post it up here.

Joint Cruise With R31Club - QLD ***25th EVENING***
locutus_of_bris replied to Nissan Maaaart's topic in Queensland
Well I'll be heading in the opposite direction but will honk if I see you all (like you'd hear a skyline honk anyway). And yeah, sprint will be good. Should have a few more there this time. -
so who is still coming out? SVD001 and Belgarion I hope, and revhead? I've got me an 46n2 coming out with a few other non-riceline friends. If you see me (silver r33) say hi cause i havent met any of you guys yet. Hope your all racing too

Top Secret V35! (79k pic attached)

Not sure I will giving up the 33 just yet by the looks of it -
I'd love to take the challenge ABU53 but can't make it this time. Although anyone wanting a challenge sprints are on saturday. Go on, I dare you. Gee, bet that doesn't work. Anyway, I'll get to a skidpan day one year.
-
Sorry, can't make it. Wish i could, but it aint going to happen. Hopefully next time.
-
Thanks Bel. Yeah, I think the cruise is not dead, but the thread should be. All I could think is who would want to read those 2 pages of crap then seriously think about going. Just thought it was time to begin again. I don't want this to be my thread, or cruise. So Erin, come on down and take charge....
-
Ok, so we got that out of our system. I seem to recall seing a thread about a cruise to the sunny coast and back, being a full day event. I also heard some ideas and comments. Lets kick it off from there again shall we........... Yes, it's a great idea. Lets keep the idea happening and get ideas for a date, time and major places to go...... Now, my own thoughts: How long - A half or full day event sounds great. Saturday night was only a taste of what's to come I think Where - Sunshine coast is great. Maybe some nice back roads on the trip up and out through kennelworth then back down the beach fronts (just a thought anyway, some nice roads up there). When - At leasts a few weeks or a month from now so people can plan for this. Maybe Mid to late May (not the sprint day on the 24th). Are there any other events we need to avoid? Who - My own opinion is we need to walk before be drift (ok, run). We had 30 maybe 35 cars saturday night which was I think more than we expected. There's no reason we can't do that and more for this event. I am thinking we should keep it to SAU for this one and keep on with the "getting to meet poeple and enjoy the cars" thing. If we have heaps of cars from several clubs it would look great, but be more work and harder to control (and I tend to think it would have more risks in general). Ok, over to you. Ideas, comments please. Just please keep this on topic and civil. Once we get a better idea of what we all want then we can move this into the events forum. Cheers D
