I used to have an R31 (for about 8 years!). Since the word GO, the diff had whined ALL the time (as you said, around 80km/h) - was worried about it at first, until I kept getting the same story that THEY ALL WHINE, THEY ALL DO IT. As I said, I had the car for about 8 years and NEVER had any problems with the diff (and yes, I wasn't easy on the car). When I sold it to my parents 2 years ago, it had 365,000 on the clock. They've still got it, the diff still whines, and they have had absolutely no problems with it at all.

If there was something wrong with your suspension, surely they would have picked it up while doing to '4 wheel' alignment. Take it elsewhere & get a second opinion. Last time I got mine done was at Pedders - 4 Wheel Alignment cost ~$100.00, they checked my car out before doing the alignment, plus they had white papers on what the correct figures should be (camber, castor, toe) all the skylines (32,33,34). Ian, I'm also from Melb., S.E. Burbs. I have an R33 Auto & I miss cruise control (Had it in my Ti). Looked into this some time ago & was quoted $750 for the rostra & $250 (I think!) installation. I can vouch for Matt too! He also built/fitted my exhaust system with his 'special' resonator, which EPA'd at 87db - Fantastic !!! My ride, being an auto, would have a lot more drone with any other 3" system, but Matt's one is VERY quiet around the 100Kph mark & up. At least my gf doesn't complain about getting headaches in my car anymore. I fully recommend his work to anyone who wants a nice flowing system, with none of the drone ! Cheers, C.
