  2. I actually like the back end. Looks better than the original. Personal preference I guess. It's got one of those love it or hate it looks. It has full LED tail lamps. Interior is the same as the Accord Euro...
  3. Thanks for all your input guys. I went to a few dealers on the weekend and one Honda dealer offerred a brand new 2006 upgrade Accord VTI (not the Euro) for $30K driveaway. It's no sports car but it is a brand new car (as opposed to 2 - 3 years old cars). It has a 2.4 i-VTEC which has been retuned from 118kW to 125kW. I'm seriously considering this. Obviously there is still room for more haggling... Here are some shots of the Accord VTI.
  4. Oh, and I guess another thing about owning another import is that I've had it with filling up with 98 RON fuel only, esp with petrol prices. Also, had it with the cop attention and vandals who get jealous of imports. Maybe I'm getting old.... but I guess I want to return to the "norm". Not to the extent of being a cardigan Camry or taxi Falcadore driver tho... Let hear it from some of the gals on the forum... not in technical sense but in terms of style or type of "youngish" guy driving a car like the Maxima. Will I be seen as an "old fart" or driving "Daddy's car"?

  7. Yes, you can buy V35 sedan for $25K but it's the 250GT... just not the same as a VQ35DE powered J31 or V35...

  10. More of a personal preference... I said the same thing as you when I bought my R33 but after awhile it wears off. Also with the grey imports, I don't really trust the service history (when they do come with one) or the importers, the odometer will most likely have been tampered with, insurance costs a lot more and only available from specialist insurers. I'm after a newer car, around 2004 - 2006 model. Most imports are late 1990 to early 2000 models and costs the same if not more than a Aussie delivered Jap car. Trust me, if I can get a 2004 V35 GT350-8 sedan for mid to high $20K and full comp insurance costs no more than $1K, I'd be driving it already...!
  11. Sorry to hear and to say "If it is a rollover, it is a write off". I'm quite suprised to see the roof held up so well with a rollover. Keep the car and strip the parts or chop the roof and make it into the world's first R33 Skyline convertible. Main thing is no one is injured and no property got damaged. Good luck mate...

  13. Yeah, should be able to pick one up 2nd had for mid to high $20K depending on year and mileage. The ST spec ones are going for low $20K. I've considered the new Liberty but it's a bit slow and underpowered unless you get the GT or 3.0R but they are way over my budget. Also considering the Accord Euro and Forester XT but as you said, best bang for buck is the Maxima...
  14. Hi all, I'm finally thinking of parting with my much loved R33 GTS-T which I have owned for 5 years. After years of owning a few performance cars (CD5 NOS fed Accord VTEC, YE Calibra Turbo 4WD, 450HP GC WRX & R33 GTS-T), I'm looking for something with a bit more luxury, interior room and 4 doors. I would love to own a 4 door sedan V35 GT350-8 but the price of one is still a bit much and I want to steer away from imports (due to insurance costs). So, I'm considering a J31 Maxima. I know it is a "yacht" of a car and FWD but it has the VQ35DE (abeit it being detuned) which it still does the 0-100Km/h sprint in 7 secs. Below is a pic of what it looks like but I'll be looking to get a black one in TI spec with leather and sunroof. What you all think of the J31 Maxima? Let me hear it. Good and bad points before I go buy one. Cheers.
  15. Cjdexter, Where are you located? I have a 1995 S1.5 R33 GTS-T for sale in Sydney: Metallic silver in colour, 5 sp manual. Only done genuine 60,000Kms (weekend driven only) and serviced every 5,000Kms with Castrol-R fully synthetic engine oil. Airbag, power & tinted windows, remote central locking with insurance approved CAT 4 alarm and immobiliser with movement sensors, power windows & mirrors. Pioneer in-dash CD player with Pioneer voice controlled 12-stack CD player in boot. 1 Pioneer amp and 1 Kicker amp, 12" Kicker sub woofer in boot. (Stereo alone costs $4,000) Apexi racing air filter, TurboXS blow off valve, 3" mandrel SuperCat exhaust system, Cusco adjustable tension rods, upgraded shock springs, SARD racing boost gauge, Apexi turbo timer with AF meter. 18" Manaray wheels (deep dish): 18x8.5 with 235/40/18 on the front 18x9.5 with 265/35/18 on the rear (Wheels and tyres cost - $3,000) I actually after $16,500 but can reduce price to $15,500 without the stereo.   16. I have the Apexi racing filter on the car for nearly 5 years now. No problems whatsoever. You do have to clean them. To clean them, you have to take it off and give it a blast of compressed air from the inside of the funnel. You will see all the dirty bits "fly" off the filter. Do not use water or the K&N filter cleaning kit and also do not oil them after cleaning. These will danmage the Apexi filter element. A blast of compressed air from inside the air filter is all you need.

  22. Hey guys and gals, My R33 GTS-T's odometer and trip meter both stopped ticking over. The speedometer and tacho still works but I highly doubt the odometer has been tampered with as I've own my car for 5 years. Does the R33s use a mechincal cable to the crank for the odometer? Anyone has any ideas why it stopped and how to rectify?
  23. Some people have no idea... I've seen a white VR Commodore driving around Perth with "TRUST" and "MUGEN" stickers on it. Also seen a Lancer with "TRD" stickers on it...
