What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
Tangles replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks lads, that's how I see it too. Onwards & up from here. Feels like the right thing to do. -
Built for Go not Show Quite a few things missed in the 1st post listing (for example: Dazy bodykit, Twin sunroof, Momo steering wheel, etc.) Comes with a whole load of spares. Now also advertised on Drive.com.au genuine sale - $15,000 firm.
-
Its advertised here on SAU, only. Genuine reason for sale - House still hasnt sold yet after half a year under contract, I cant afford morgage repayments & am on the absolute bones of my arse. Pretty much hit rock bottom 2 months ago, which is a good thing in all honesty as I made myself get off the medication that sent me crazy. Heart says Im silly to "give it away", head says to be smart about it. University is my #1 priority for the next 4 or 5 years. I'll get stuff all back from the house sale, when it eventually sells (been screwed over by the agent),and will need it all to cover living costs. Funds will be too scarce while at Uni to run the risk of anything going wrong, even general maintenance, on the Stagea. I really dont want to see it gone, but all my time will be focused on succeeding with the Medical Radiation Science course. For the first time I just dont see my pride & joy being in my future - however I now see a future for myself. Just need a little run around car to run errands as I'll be using public transport during the weekdays to/from Uni in the city. Considering Ive spent well over 50k all up, including car purchase, 15k is probably letting it go too easily, but perhaps its the right option in my current circumstances. Whom ever buys it, whenever that happens, will be getting something pretty special. Sad about it, nonetheless.

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Ive had it for well over 6years, and am one of the only remaining "original" stagea sau:forum users still here. Genuine reason for sale, not "just because". Feel absolute ratshit about my decision to advertise it here, but I cant see anyway around it. -

$860 del. from usa-ebay for Tomei type A or B, to suit Neo Rb25 $205 del. from usa-ebay for Cometic MLS head gasket to suit Neo engine. A good place tog et stuff from is Raw Brokerage, if you arnt keen in ebay purchases. www.http://rawbrokerage.com/main.sc hope that helps a little.

the boost drop from 17 to 13psi is what's costing you the power. It could be the return-flow design in itself (I wouldnt rate a return flow cooler to beyond 250kwaw); as matty suggested have the pressure drop tested between the Inlet & Outlet. You may need a 'proper' intercooler, but test first prior to spending further. Elir32 is right with his suggestion; the intake pipe could be sucking closed if its still the standard black ribbed plastic unit. "how to fix" here - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/173016-rev210s-5min-5-intake-pipe-mod-for-your-stageaskyline/page__p__5261291__hl__%22intake+pipe%22__fromsearch__1#entry5261291 Definitely give the ProfecB spec-2 a go, a very good unit indeed. Once setup correctly could make a decent difference. Diagnose why the boost pressure drops and you'll see a very good increase in power

Inspiring conversation with Matty S this afternoon - you sir are indeed a champion ! Thanks ever so much mate. This world would be an amazing place if there were a few more decent beings like yourself around...... Hold your head high and be proud

Yeah I dont want to Dion, but if something was to happen (cough *Neil* cough) I dont have the funds to fix anything. Im on the absolute bones of my arse until this damned house sells; its the worst feeling. I got myself into this financial mess by being on medication that sent me literally insane, out of work on the pension, and eventually the morgage has climbed back up to max as I havent had the funds the past 3-odd years to fully keep on top of it. Buying the R32 was the stupidest thing Ive ever done I reckon - BUT I simply wasnt thinking straight. Everything I did was aimed at "the fact" Id top myself soon so nothing seemed to matter. ie I didnt care that the ex took money out of the morgage for 2x holidays and a car, etc.... Im much much better since getting off the medication 39days ago; havent had one negative thought so as you may tell thats a Huge turn around, full circle from the lows Ive experienced. My heart says keep it but my head says better off with a 10k falcodore for the next 5yrs. If I can become a Radiologist then in 5-6 yrs I can get back into a morgage and look at getting an R35 perhaps. Im really positive towards whats in store for me but Im not sure if keeping the stagea is the wisest idea. If the house doesnt sell soon then the stagea or track car simply have to go. Theres no way around it.

R32 Sedan Trackcar With Fresh Rb26Dett
Tangles replied to Tangles's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Wont be selling if the Stagea sells first. see sig for link. Thanks for the comments, Im keen to track this as often as possible during my University holidays -
I think I should sell the Stagea while I put myself through University. It wont feel any love from me during the weekdays, and weekends will probably be the same I'll be catching the train to Uni-SA city east during my course, and feel perhaps its best to have a cheap run around car instead? Unsure - but advertised for sale, as per sig. http://www.skylinesa...san-stagea-rs4/

Once Ive completed the run-in of the forged bottom end & had the final tune performed I might consider selling the stagea. Im a bit over it now, cant afford for anything to go wrong while I put myself through University over the next 4-5yrs. Car cost me 18k 6yrs ago and sunk in excess of 32k into it with all the bolt-ons, tunes over the years, etc etc. What would it be worth on the market do you think? Mirror rust hasnt been attended to, and bodywork has scratches etc, but mechanically its fresh and good for 300rwkw if pushed. Dont think its worth selling, but Id be screwed IF I got defected by the over-zealous officer Neil we have here in adelaide. forged CP bottom end, ported Tomei head, gt3076r, 3" turbo back, bilstein suspension, whiteline bars/bushes, 324mm brakes, chipped ecu, tuneable piggyback, trust fmic, bosch 040, S15 450cc injectors, etc etc. -
sorry Adrian I know you're keen, ........... but Im not I like the bonnet I paid good $ for, and if the house sells soon enough I'll be keeping the track car.

Damn man thats pretty low. Sorry to hear of your misfortune, and hope you get it back easily without too much stress. Definitely need to keep caravans, boats, trailers, jet skis (etc) chained to a post if they are in public view.
-
Tobias - I really doubt that youd have a problem getting off the defect with the nistune ecu internals. They wont be opening up your ecu to check inside. Having said that, might pay to wring some wreckers and see if you can find one if you feel that you need another stocker for spare. Carl - if I didnt have the details (vin, engine number, rego, etc) then I certainly wouldnt go through with a purchase. That information is needed for a check on ownership, check on finance outstanding, and insurance coverage. All the best with the sale though, hope it doesnt hang around too long - like my bloody house sale!!
-
If I can afford the fuel then I'll come along, but honestly times are very tough for me financially (until the damned house sells, then can move on with life) so I wont know until the weekend its arranged for. Im a 'maybe'

Return flow intercooler, hmmmmm..... Had an apexi return flow unit myself, swapped out for a Trust 'normal' style intercooler and with a basic dynotune netted an easy 20rwkw increase using components very similar to your setup. Used to get boost drop, but not the same extreme as yourself (then again was only pushing 16psi, 1psi spike then dropping down to 14psi). Was fine with this setup for 200rwkw, which was maxing out the then-used turbo (sliding performance highflow) on stock 370cc injectors. Moved to 450cc S15 injectors, different piggyback ecu & a GT30-based highflow and saw 250rwkw with 18psi, slight spike and then some boost drop as far as I can recall. In fact Im sure every tune Ive had has experienced some sort of boost drop. From 140kw, to 160kw, to 180kw, to 190kw, to 210kw, to 225kw, to 235kw, to 250kw.... Just looked at my graphs and all have experienced a "nosing-over" up late-mid to high in the rev range. I wouldnt trust a return flow intercooler to push more than a maximum of 220rwkw for the RB25det engine. Thats close to around your current 300rwhp, and is only my gut feel based on my own experiences. If you already have a HD turbo actuator on the hypergear turbo then I guess you should perhaps look at other areas of your setup. Have you had a test done to calculate the pressure drop between the inlet/outlet of your current return-flow intercooler? Instead of making a cooler up yourself Lilcrash, perhaps purchase an intercooler that will bolt up correctly for your setup? ie $400 no-name 'cooling pro' r34 rb25 unit should be fine for 250rwkw: - http://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=16909&cat=&page=1 but then again Ive never used this brand before so I cant be assured in saying that this would fix your problems.

The shroud has to be cut away to accomodate the larger diameter discs. The dogbones I linked require 324mm disc size, which can be bought to suit an GTR. The discs Im using are to suit the 300zx TT as per the kit that CPZ sell, however the 5 stud holes are larger than the stock size so they're not exactly the perfect fit. I dont see that as a big deal tho. TBH Im through modifying the stagea so for now they'll have to do. To me now its "just" a car.
