  2. One of the lads in the sa section suggested that he was pulling 300rwkw with one of these, a whole lot of mods tho (maybe including engine rebuild) I believe. Fact is, Id love one of these turbos, but I could never afford a new one, and after months of searching for a 2nd hand one I sorta gave up. Im going to use Slides turbo for around 3 to 4 yrs, and then relook for one of these apexi turbos for my awd stagea.

  6. Ive tried a few tanks of it, generally filled up when still had a qtr of normal BP/Mobil 98 fuel in the tank. It feels nice to drive, is responsive, etc....... once I put in half a tank with no other mix of fuel, and it seemed ok - but I decided at the time that I wouldnt do that again, as Id rather do a 50:50 mix to be "safe"r. edit: shell 100 ron looks to be coming to SA soon - so I wouldnt mind trying a 50/50 of Boost98 from Liberty and Shell 100 ron fuel Brendan
  7. Just google "apexi AX53B70 turbo" plenty of info out there from what I understand, better response then a HKS 2535 and more allround power too. if I had the cash to buy a brand name turbo - my money would be on this turbo
  8. Would be keen to find if its the controller (I too use the Hybrid - holds boost perfect;y up to 12psi so far, lol!), however my money is on your actuator. Id be looking into the HKS adj. actuator from Nengun.

  10. part1: noname - save ya $$$ hell, its a round hollow metal pipe, generally around 3inches in diameter.............. brand name means nothing IMO. youd be paying extra $$ for R&D into the muffler design (and yeah they've all been copied by now). part 2: the search function works perfectly well.

  12. unfortunately the project has changed directon. as such. I can confirm its easy to pull down a turbo, and it would be easy to rebuild it too. Costly to a certain degree unless you can buy from a bulk comp/exhaust wheel-stocker, but do-able none the less, youd only need a professional balance job. The turbo is marked as 16 v 10 front housing, and 16v exhaust housing, suggesting its a r32... so Ive decided Im sending that and a shagged R33 turbo for one of these http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=131723 willing to try out a top helpful and informative SAU'rs trade wares
  13. replaced my dead battery, was going all the time. hasnt affected the tune of the safc/sitc combo. for a short while it seems off, but the 'feel' of the power delivery comes back.

  15. I did - was maxxing the afm at the 140awkw tune, although that was when I only had a catback system so that might have ahd something to do with it. changed to a z32 afm when I had the full zaust put on, fmic, fuelpump, and the sitc tuned.

  17. doesnt sound like a good deal at all, steer clear until you have more info. the R34 has the good exhaust housing - what current turbo do you have?? if yours is the r33 turbo then uhuh dont do it. you want a turbo woth the r34/vg30 OP6 rear exhaust housing for a bolton upgrade, and youd need to highflow it to get that 215 awkw........ tune with safc, or emanage (look into the coil pack reports tho) maybe look into this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=131723 Im happy to let ppl know this is the direction Im taking,... I have all the supporting mods done and tuned, so I personally expect a 200awkw tune at ~1bar tune with a safc and sitc as the piggybacks. Maybe it might just be a 190awkw at 1bar and 200 above that, but meh I got a dual stage ebc LOL Cant wait to tell you all the truth. Budgets damn tight but Im making it happen (wife and kids love peanut butter sandwhiches for a month) LOL

  20. interesting you say that - they are (were, as at when I was last there for a tune) the Autronic dealer..... I hope they dont mind, but I feel its appropriate to share this, so here's part of an email from yesterday evening (yeah, I was on the case pretty quick) "We are getting closer and will contact all of our Nissan Stagea clients when we have it available, but we are likely to be able to integrate a Power fc into the system and maintain trans control. (Just need a donor car and computer to get this happening) May take us a little while in R&D but i am sure it is possible. The better option is we are currently looking at full access to factory ecu for mapping. Either option is going to be better than any piggy back set ups and we have always seen this as good on Stagea, but not as good as the above alternatives." Brett also finished off with "Now that we are seeing a larger market for the Stagea, we are determined to better support these clients, as more numbers make R&D more affordable to do." And I for one attest to their top service. They are my tuner and I intend keeping it that way, and make no doubt Im a stickler for gettn the job done for the right timeframe & budget; Im damn happy with their friendly service and Im glad to see the direction they are taking. They'll be seeing my Slide performance turbo soon enough Brendan

  22. Damn nice ! 200rwkw ! good work, thats what- 170awkw? nice, only a cpl kw behind ya ! Pixl8r, mate, I was behind you all day on the cruise - your car booted damn well and Im not just saying that. I was watching......... was very interested in staying behind a S2 thru the hills and enjoying the eyecandy. It looked to me like a 120awkw car. And heading back into the city, Nth Adelaide your Stag pulled off nicely from the lights. It NEEDS a full exhaust system. With a little clean cool air your stag would have an easy 140awkw - she's just reavily restricted at the moment. IMO. She's a nice car. exactly, it can be done. hell, my catback system is a 3inch modified R33 exhaust ! extended behind the muffler by around 10inches. good luck with the project, watch her evolve over the next few years of ownership.
