send SK a pm? Im sure you could get a set of Whiteline rear springs?
-
I car pool of sorts, so only take the 53km return trip to work 2-3 times a week. Throw in a little drive on the weekends.... fill up every 2nd week. (edit... 1.5 weeks LOL)
-
spotted at a engagement party last night; my slinky white Stagea parked next to a 4door black R33, very nice 195rwkw auto, and a stockish black r32 gtr............mmmm - obviously a party with taste.

Do standard springs go soft & spongey with age? IMO: standard springs with the Bilstein shocks + Whiteline swaybars & pineapples is a fantastic compliment of each other.......... the minimum suspn upgrade as such. Not too stiff at 60kph but puuurrfect from 80kph+. :sorcerer:

anyone know the legalities of driving on prescription narcotics? ie insurance, police/courts, etc on Endone now for a while..... man it makes a huge difference to the knee pain, its amazing whats more it aint giving off the fuzzy-head pill-syndrome,so thats good. oi - how about this damn avatar???!! wicked, found it on ebay
-
Id like to come - please PM me BUT- Im not sure whether I'll have the readie$$ at the end of the month, being honest (even a $150 turbo purchase blows my balance outa the water), so we'll see.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm LOL On a lighter note; you've obviously never heard a set of fine-tuned racing Flatslide carburettors then? Nothing so sweet in this world then the howl of air being sucked via twin K&N airpods and blasted thru properly setup flatslide carbs into a tight 4cyl, the sound is phenominal - whether that be at idle or on full-tap, whether that be on a performance motorbike (like my Fireblade, 1/5th the price of a turbo setup I might add) or a old-skool car. anyway - I can assure you its the sound god himself makes first thing in the morning - you gotta love that ! so true. lol - got a query tho; could you elaborate on your 270degree vs 360degree thrust bearing opinion? I was interested to read that 270's are preferable, why is that? cheers all ! Brendan

Thats right..... depends on what it type of turbo it is, conditon, etc. Jumped the gun posting early but after "acceptable-tolerances" info etc. Who knows I might never see this turb' lol, never know what might pan out....... its ebay but meh, worth a shot tho. If its ball bearing and needs a rebuild, it'll take a while until I can afford to do that. If its BB but ok then I can whack it on and enjoy. But I gotta find out if its ok or not.... hence the call for info. If its journal bearing then I think I'd rebuild it with that kit on Pg1, and have it proffessionaly balanced. Sounds like good fun either way. hehehehe - just hoping they send me the turbo !! lol edit: how to rebuild a turbo http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/turbo/turborebuild.html

Read this page: seems a T3 turbocharger is meant to be abled to be "serviced" at home. what do you think????? http://www.saabperformanceparts.com/item107.htm --------------------------------------------- T3 turbo DIY rebuild kit USD99.95 T3 turbocharger REBUILD KIT for SAAB, VOLVO, FORD, MERKUR, NISSAN, MERCEDES, DODGE, Etc. Includes all hardware and replacement components for complete owner rebuild of any factory T3 GARRETT turbocharger or the Turbonetics T3 versions. The GARETT T3 was implemented on a majority of the early to late 1980s turbocharged automotive applications which included all Saab 900 applications from 1980-1989 and all turbocharged 9000 applications from 1986-1989. Our kit will work on all T3 Garret turbochargers which includes both oil cooled and water cooled versions of this family. This amazing package includes all bearings, piston ring oil seals, seal plates, hardware, thrust collar, thrust bearing, gaskets, o-rings, shims, exploded diagram, photos, instructions, etc. for the proper maintenance of the factory unit. Servicing the OEM turbo is simple and is considered a Do-It-Yourself project which will not require special tools or skills. Since the T3 turbocharger uses a pre-balanced rotating assembly, this balancing will be retained when re-assembling these units (IE: no need to balance the turbocharger after rebuild). Our kit replaces all common wear items, is excellent preventive maintenance (will reduce shaft movement/play, reduce oil bypassing/smoking, etc.), and replaces all common components employed when considering a rebuilt GARRETT T3 turbocharger. Our kit will also work on all T3 GARRETT turbochargers (will be marked as TB03) on many Volvo, Mercedes, Ford (T-bird, etc), XR4TI, etc. Please call or Email for confirmation of proper fit when considering this kits employment on applications other than SAAB. Please also see our 360 degree turbine oil seal which will eliminate typical oil bypassing (smoke in exhaust) and is listed from our "Turbocharger and Related" pages. Weight: 2.00 lb Reference: T3rbldkit ------------------------------------------ food for thought ? edit: more: ---------------------------------------- T3 360 Degree TurbineOil Seal USD24.95 GARRETT T3 turbocharger 360 degree turbine oil seal. Designed to fit all T3, T4, and T3/T4 hybrid turbochargers and will replace/update the factory GARRETT piston ring oil seal to eliminate oil bypassing (oil/smoke in engine exhaust). See photo to show OEM/GARRETT oil seal at left and the 360 degree oil seal at right. This oil seal is a new (as of 2005) version stainless steel staggered gap piston ring oil seal and are the same seals that we employ on our Red Series turbochargers for the best in oil retention! The original/OEM piston ring oil seal maintains a .008-.013" gap to allow for thermal expansion at the turbine side of the turbocharger. As the old style piston ring sees service/wear, the gap will increase/widen allowing for oil bypassing and, typically, smoke in the engine exhaust. The new style 360 degree piston ring oil seal will actually overlap when in service which eliminates the concern for oil bypassing and will never reduce oil retention properties after wear/service. In short, this 360 degree oil seal is designed to eliminate oil bypassing for the life of the turbocharger. =)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-Apex-i-...sspagenameZWD2V new SITC
-
nah you've looked at it the wrong way - $300 for the afm + $300 for the SITC plus $150 for a FPR (if you havent got one already) plus retune on dyno = an easy 1grand spent to gain roughly 10% power? May gain 20-25rwkw.... still roughly $40 to $50 tho per rwkw as you stated. We're all in the same boat. Best of luck with it Otto.

we want Willie back !!!

Change your avatar back to Willie, please !! yeah, but doesnt help ppl outside of Qld..... whats the deal? Post them the ecu and tell them your mods and what you want out of it?? I dunno................
-
theres a local hairdresser here, called EMO's Hairdressers ! lol anyway - whats this public warning about - to stear clear of Cy?? isnt that normal anyway?
-
I guestimate (no qualifications, just from my own auto 4wd turbo Stagea buildup).... that if you have 210rwkw now, with a Z32afm you could get another 5%ish, and with a SITC and retune of both safc and sitc you could pull another 5%ish, taking it out to 230ishrwkw. For ~25ishrwkw, is it worth it? Z32afm cost $300, a SITC secondhand is at least that as well, a FPR for the injector duty and add the retune and thats at least a grand spent. hehehehehe - Id do it !! (LOL - and I did too!!) I was pleased with the result, knowing that the tune is still not the best - there is another 10awkw lurking in my tune now Ive got a proper CAI system; will eventually add a highflow turbo so we'll see how it all goes then..... to keep away from R&R at 1bar I think Id be pushing it to get to 200awkw, although I might get a pleasant surprise.
-
cheers, my bad if I read too much into things................ at end of day, a z32 afm would be definately worthwhile, but so too would a sitc to further enable a "fine tune". best of luck with it!
-
hey; settle down lad. you guys were talking about ign timing too, so I added my 2c. I run a safcII.... had standard afm, was too hard to tune past 140awkw as the afm was seeing 5.1V.... added the Z32 afm and a sitc and tuned now to 160awkw, with plenty more headroom. with a larger turbocharger and *maybe* slightly highflowed injectors (maybe, still unsure whether 370cc will be fine for 200awkw or if 410-420cc would be better and still tuneable) I expect to see over 200awkw. so - the larger afm does give you more headroom, but so too does the SITC.
-
so, get a SITC too.............

Anyone Have A Small Turbo They Don't Need Anymore?
Tangles replied to Deluxe's topic in South Australia
go the supercharger route................... can find them in plenty of wreckers who bring in frontcuts (I remember seeing them listed in HPI adverts all the time) -
Its the buildup of crud in the oil lines that leads to turbo failure (ie lack of oil flow)IMO
-
Im not feeling all that social, but damn man - welcome! (forget the banter about the Stag, Im sure she'll be sweet as.... no doubt)
-
I feel for you, Im in absolute agony today. (edit: pleading to the Dr for morphine tomorrow............. cant go on like this) (2nd edit: actually Bl4cK32 - your advice is one that Id listen to the most, as you know EXACTLY how hard it can be to balance everything when in extreme pain)
