  1. I totally understand! PS - thats why I went the bike route way back in 1997. Wanted to improve my driving skills, as you mentioned, and I felt that was the best way to do so. edit - I think Id like to add a 50:50 f:r split adjuster for the awd.
  2. awd is definately safer than rwd..... perhaps alex, just perhaps, the 4wd has 'saved' your life on an occasion and you havent even realized it? I NEVER want to go back to a rwd or fwd car again - awd all the way for me now. I love it; awd = confidence in grip and handling.
  3. not at all mate - I concur with what you have said, see my earlier post. good stuff Mr Fitzpatrik
  4. we went thru 3 clutches in 20000kms in our N14. maybe you too got a Friday afternoon build!!!!!!!
  5. what if................................. You cant look at it that way - because "what if........" didnt happen. he is being punished for his 'dangerous driving', and thats fair enough. He pleaded guilty and didnt try to worm out of it - that shows some maturity. But he cant be flamed here on SAU for something that he didnt do. edit: hell, I could be done for manslaughter for hitting and killing a pedestrian at 40kmph in a 60zone, when Im driving my olds big Patrol 4wd, Im too tall and cant fit correctly in the drivers seat, in fact its hard to operate the brake pedal. Accidents can and do happen, thats why they are called an accident. I think we flame tooooo many ppl here on SAU. With the excuse "you give the rest of us a bad name"... thats BS, it is you and I who give yourself and myself a bad name, not someone else.
  6. all you flamers out there should be ashamed..... I dont believe he was lookig for sympathy, just alerting ppl to the 12month suspension, a nice warning to all of us to keep a feel out for the speed we are travelling. sure, 94 in 50 is stupid, however after THIS I betcha all $100 that he'll NEVER go over 80 in a 50 zone again! leason learnt. it hasnt cost anyone any pain other then the driver, and he'll learn from this mistake, for sure. look, we have all sped at some point in time (61 in 60 is speeding)........ most of us just never got caught.
  7. exactly - and if you kept filming after being told not too - youd be arrested pretty quickly. same goes with recording voices........ there is a topic on this dicsussion in the General Automotive section. edit, here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=99211&hl= best thing is to write your OWN notes (dont go by their little black book, dodgy as); you can write down their badge numbers (on their shoulders) and their car numbers (rego or # on top of roof), and write down all the details, as they are writing down their details. remeber, if they ask you to sign the little black book (if it is a serious offence) you arent held liable to do so, but if you dont then you will go to court......... I did, and won!
  8. LOL 1st time for everything I guess............. Anyways, F1 car (4million $$?) vs a Superbike (roughly 80grand tops, if engine has been prepped)..... hahahahahahaha bikes rule. Power to weight ratio and dollar value come out on top in my book.
  9. I did NOTHING but dream about this split unit ALL bloody night. god damn Im tired!
  10. CAT_Converter is SOLD for sale is a standard R33 intercooler for $30 plus postage, ono

  15. Sorry lads - got a very bad memory !!! actually - I thought hhhmmm that number doesnt ring a bell, reached for my phone but figured no, cubes's searches are always right! lol
  16. YOU are a scammer How about you post these calipers to me, free of charge, to make up for ripping me off with the "r34 Neo turbo" you sold me - it was a series 2 turbo from a R33, with the plastic intake wheel........... you fraud. It was NOT a R34 rear housing at all.
  17. how the f**k could they get it wrong!!??!! I was pretty peeved at their lack of smarts, but they have no competition so youve got no choice but to go there! Add into that they are down near the end of Port Rd and I live at Morphett vale - wasnt happy.
  18. ah ok, bad luck then. It was the correct number 2 months ago, when he installed all my suspenion gear (shocks, swaybars, bushes etc)
  19. Ring that Ryan lad mentioned here on Page 1(?).... cheaper than $250 for sure.
  20. I used Guageworks on Port Rdfor my Fireblade speedo recalibration, after doing my chain and sprockets (was seeing 125kmph when doing 100). Got it back, installed it, then found Id see 150kmph when doing 100!!! LOL - went back again, explained they calibrated it the 'wrong way' (WTF!), and got it back perfect.
  21. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...opic=61606&st=0 see page 1; reading that Id suggest that yeah your fluid would be suitable - I better check mine too! or see alexcim's setup: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...117723&hl=fluid
  22. There's nothig wrong with the Series1. Alllll comes down to your budget - are you going to spend 15k, 20k or 25k (etc) tops? If say if 15k find a nice S1 and you'll be happy with it. Might score a manual for a cpl$ more. Say 20, again find a nice S1 and modify it a bit, to suit you. Or buy a nice Series2 and you'll be happy with it. Say 25k, well you can go ballistic with modifying a nice Series1 and get a very nice 200awkw awd wagon, or slightly modify a nice Series2, to suit you. Thems the options Id think. Throw in the option of manual to the above, or whatever your budget is (Rs260 ) I took option 3, budget of 30k over 2yrs including car (18k neat S1 a year ago), so it'll have been improved in every aspect of 'refinement' by the time the budgets exhausted. Got 5k to go and am very happy with it as is atm. When I bought it tho I didnt have the extra cpl$ to get a S2 at the time (they were over 26k), although I would have preferred the tiptronic auto, the larger neo turbo and the better front brakes. Work within your budget and you'll score a sweet Stagea either way.
  23. I took a L@@K... me like-e, looks very sweet allround. gotta love the skyline, man I wish I had one!
