beeskneez right here: painted the lid black now and about to add heatinsulated foam inside the cai
-
well, a nice neat job. Didnt do my idea above ^^ (yet - maybe sometime ya never know) Utilising standard R33 snorkel (machined edge of radiator support metal bracket), moved the boost bracket, and filed a little metal to clear the afm wires neatly. You can see the blue line where I was going to cut to make it fit, but it was all sorted and all fitted well - with the extraordinary efforts of Pete (66 Skyline GT), thanks mate. Gave Pete my rb25afm for his RB20det 66 Skyline GT, a good deal. His car is a 'wee-rippa' for sure, 140rwkw weighing a tonne. He's also might be able to help me with extending the seat brackets slightly. that'll be awesome! So - Maxx's cai for R33/R34 skyline does fit as is, just a tiny touch up needed to suit the Stageas. Going to finish it by adding heat-foam stuff stuck to the inside, and that'll help close the little air gaps etc. (edit: painted the lid black, looks sorta stock lol, and bought a heap of heat-insulated foam for $10) and a pic from outside (cant see the cai LOL but you can see the nice sorted suspension) edit: oh yeah, flows lotsa clean cold air, can tell that prior to this cai install the k&n pod had been sucking engine bay air. Safc now needs a slight retune lol although very minro, that can wait now for the larger turbo.

New 040 Fuelpump = 120psi Fuel Pressure = Bad!
Tangles replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
LMAO for similar $ outlay you can get a Nismo adjustable FPR off Nengun. they seem to work. -
Brands new Oxygen sensor, make sure exhaust system is free flowing, and engine has ample loads of clean cold air (pod & fimc), obviously ensure engine is running smoothly, and tune air/fuel mixtures via a piggyback / standalone ECU.

very clean. maybe oneday a RS260 might be calling out for you...... you never know
-
ebay man, ebay..... cant complain about that, hey. I even sent him a text LOL
-
Yeah for sure. I see what youre saying, no doubt you're right; although with 2 drivers (ie wife and I) you could actually 'use' a Stagea RS4 and RS260. Maybe one day Im my case atm tho it means 1k saved, with savings to be used for injectors and tune. That finishes my tuning modifications and would infact keep me under my '30k total package' mark I aim to stick to, with 2k left over still to spend on brakes, auto valve body upgrade, drivers seat, & hopefully have ~200+ 4wkw @1bar. Id like to know then how to 'maintain' a bush-bearing type turbo tho - ie do I let car cool down 2min after EACH drive, change oil every 2000kms etc? better check howthingswork.com. From what I gather you gotta make sure it has a strong clean feed of oil, the cooler the better. How can you assure that?

Well, all I can say to that is that they are LIARS they told me that too - I rang back and said Regency is outa my way, and I KNOW that I can go to Sturt Rd (not police station, but right next door, RTA testing facility). They said thats true, but only open tuesday or thrusday 9am to 3pm so "it wouldnt suit me". I told em what I thought of that, and asked them how do THEY know what suits ME? Matey, they are liars. Im serious - DO NOT go to Regency. Go to Sturt rd facility (looks like a council yard right next door to the cop shop), they will check your vin / engine numbers etc. They wont look in your kick panel, but will look briefly thru your engine bay. Good luck with it. My 2c. (the above is based on you rego'ing a car that had previously been rego'd interstate) Brendan -
seeing 'Marvn' tomorrow so we'll see what we can work out....... Fact is, I dont fit comfortably in the standard local fare (falcodores etc), so I need to safely modify one small section of the seat rail to suit me. Id argue it in court if necessary (god forbid!) that whatever it is that I end up getting done to extend my drivers seat rail lenght is a completley safe modification, to suit me.

the adapter??? well looks like a normal adapter... ie one part bolts onto the afm via 4 screws and the other part clamps onto the pod filter. as far as seriel numbers go - matey, GOOGLE is your friend you may need something like this, for an rb25 of course: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/POD-AIR-FILTER-ADAP...1QQcmdZViewItem

K&N make adapters By the way - Im customizing an air snorkel for my CAI box..... will post up a thread once done, with pics etc.

Thats where mine was (and still is). I did exactly that - turned it off and it wasnt a problem. Its still off now, I think they are dangerous. But I dont mind it being wired up still...... If you are bringing a car into SA that has previously been registered interstate (like I did) you dont need to go to Regency, can go to Sturt Rd station on Tuesdays or Thursdays 9am-3pm, they check for engine / vin numbers etc. and all other bits in the engine bay. -
Or better still, a sweet-as Stagea? I mean, as if they are going to hassle a wagon driver. It resembles a bloody Volvo, so if anything, I reckon I'll be picked on for 'going too slow' LOL

R33 Gtst Auto Box (jatco Re4ro1a) Review?
Tangles replied to b1ancardi's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
? really?? My auto is 1,2,D plus overdrive ie its 3 gears and overdrive becomes 4th gear the r33 auto box is very similar to the Patrol auto box. Im going to mod mine soon with the MV Automatics (Blackwood, SA) valve body upgrade for harder shifts. Already got a big oil cooler kit. Then she'll be sweeeeet. -
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISSAN-SKYLINE-R33-...1QQcmdZViewItem is that it????

I started playing my first online game last October, Day of Defeat, and was first time using WSAD keys in liue of arrow keys - lets just say I used to get very tangled up. Sgt.Tangles was my name, got a few laughs, then I was asked to join a clan, so it changed to goon>>Tangles. Now I have a go on BF2 a little and call myself MajorTangles. Plus Im hung like max walker "its like a babys arm holding an apple" from The 12th Man fame, and his nickname for Australia was Tangles, so it just seems normal to me. Could be Tripod I guess, LOL, but Tangles it is. LOL

ask Sydneykid. or come for a drive! Bilstein / stnd spring setup ROCKS

What about the radiator cap??? hhmmm silly me. might not be on such a grand scale as I presumed. pretty much a tube made up like a standard snorkel but with a custom fit and an air intake opening as per the space available, or hack at the standard snorkel adding metal fabrication to join it to the cai enclosure. doh. although a clone air intake opening with a joining piece on the other side of the radiator is a possibility......... !

On my bike riding 'cruises' (mwahahahaha hahahaha yeah right) with a steamtrain of 20 x 1litre mad-arsed sportsbikes, we'd put up the left hand high in the air when it was safe to overtake. ie, leader overtakes and straight away left hand goes up, all follow Until left hand goes down. No more overtaking until the last person to overtake raises the hand again. Safest method Ive ever seen. Bit hard to do with cars tho, certainly if its raining! Maybe have 1 or 2 cars with a orange flashing light on the roof or rear parcel shelf (ie like council cars etc, anything but red or blue), flash it when safe for overtaking? First lead car has one and a car in the middle of the pack has one. Thoughts? Im not keen on Kims orignal idea of staying in the opposite lane, I think thats illegal anyway.
