Harsh Induction Noise At Around 5,000rpm
Tangles replied to munchstagea's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Matey - has the sweet-as Stag got a pod filter (no airbox)? They make 'induction' noise, sort of..... damn that sucks that you've got a worry so early in Stagea ownership. it'll come good tho, no doubt about it -
No probs!! I gained 20kw when I added the SITC and a fuel pump (direct wired) & Z32 afm, tuned at 12psi up from 10psi. Best of luck with it. fyi: I got a Brand New SITC off ebay for $200US LOL, never ever seen another brand new one for sale.
-
SITC had 5 dials that you can alter the Ignition Timing on....... no screens, although they give a nice glow when the powers on. Apexi Super-ITC or Super Ignition Timing Converter see SK's thread, pics and all: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=80642&hl=sitc

Yah - gotta keep trying every 5 days LOL I missed the first one I was bidding on, the moment it ended another one came up for sale. I "bought it now" as such right there and then! Definately efficient, and would be perfect on the 6cyl 2.0litre you have.

OK ebay, search Apexi you'd want a secondhand good condition Apexi Hybrid intercooler made for the 180SX. I use one in my Stagea. Got it sent from japan, was $300US I think delivered.............. does exactly what I want it to do, and Im sure it'll be good for 200+Awkw on my 4wd Stagea. see: http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_suction_d...d=215&pageNum=1 this is what it looks like: from the apexi website: The Hybrid Intercooler is designed to cool intake air temperatures going into the engine. Cold air is packed densely with air molecules and promotes more combustion within the motor. This equates to more power potential. The Hybrid Inter-cooler Series uses an exclusive cross flow design on all the cores. These cores are the only cores designed specifically for front mount applications. The front of the core uses a delta wedge face with two different types of fins. The fins at the base of the delta wedge are tightly packed, while the fins at the top of the delta wedge are loosely packed. This channels the air hitting the front of the intercooler to the tightly packed fins at the base of the delta wedge for maximum cooling. The loosely packed fins at the top of the delta wedge prevent any unnecessary wind turbulence. The fins on the back side of the intercooler extend out to the same length to "shoot" the air into the radiator without excess turbulence. A'PEXi is the only manufacturer with this patented design. A quick look through popular racing magazines will show the unmistakable Hybrid Intercooler sitting comfortably in the front bumper of many race and street cars. CONCEPT: Front-mount intercooler with exceptional cooling capabilities CHARACTERISTICS: Unique delta-fins maximize heat transfer; ultra-low pressure drop

SAFC II and a SITC

I have a feeling that the Stagea ecu is slightly different, in the outer case at least), as in you cant read error codes on the ecu on a stagea but can on an R33 (true?). I suggest getting a SAFC and tune that beast! 12:1 all the way.

Adelaide City up freeway to lefthand exit called Sthrathalbyn, overpass over the freeway, heads towards Callington / Strathalbyn. This road is good condition, open, windy, fast etc. I open my bike up out there *often*. There is a Mobil with 98ron in Strath if your car needs fuel...... and a few pubs if you need fuel, but not a big distance really. Real nice scenery in front of the pub nearby to the swimming pool, overlooking the lake. Nice indeed. From Strath either head up the hill thru Ashbourne and back to Adelaide via Meadows/Clarendon or Meadows/Echunga, or in lieu of Ashbourne head into Macclesfield then Echunga onto Mylor and back to the freeway as such. Or I could show you a nice route down to Myponga!
-
Head towards M/Bridge on Freeeeeeway and take the turn off on the left to Strathalybyn. Man that is an awesome road, windy, open and fast. No trouble out that way, generally speaking if you get what I mean, as well. Stop in Strath by the lake, chat, coffee shops or pub there, and mosey on back to Adelaide via meadows & clarendon.

Anyone Have A Rb25 Highflow From "sliding Performance"?
Tangles replied to joe2548's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yah I know - didnt mean it in that context........... here at work I sell top furniture. Some chairs last 10yrs and cost $1000, other chairs cost $300 and last 2yrs...... Cost of Ownership is less over time for the higher quality goods. Its just something that I keep in mind. -

Tangles replied to joe2548's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
But what is the cost of ownership? ie if you replace it every 2 years or say 60000kms, but replace a GCG every 4 years or 120,000kms, then as at 4yrs the GCG is a better buy. However if you only replace the slide performance turbo after 4 years and a GCG req'd replacing after 4yrs of usage (same kms), then it IS a better buy. Never forget the total cost of ownership ppls. -

Tangles replied to joe2548's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So, on a R34 ecu it may not, whereas on a R33 ecu it does (in my instance) -
NO NO NO Install the fmic FIRST then do a Safc or Pfc.... otherwise you're up for 2 tunes, like me! doh. I had a safc yadayadayada etc, put in an Apexi fmic, too much airflow stuffed up the safc tune, couldnt boot it anymore, needed a retune (although I had a Sitc waiting to be tuned too, so I needed to go on the dyno again anyway)

What about lifespan?? How long would this $890-950 turbo last (kms?) when say left at 1bar boost on say a car like Stans? Id imagine a BB hiflow turbo would be good for 80000kms+, how about your model Slide? -
Im always flicking between O/D on and off........ under 60kmph then I dont see a need of O/D, around 80 then yes, I have O/D on. Going up or down hills I keep O/D off.......... no problem using the gearbox for the way it was designed!

If the car is auto - get the safc If manual - then PFC

gave me a *little* laugh (I dont laugh much these days ) Subject: Dog & Cat diaries DOG'S DIARY 7 am - Oh boy! A walk! My favourite! 8 am - Oh boy! Dog food! My favourite! 9 am - Oh boy! The kids! Sleeping in my people's bed! My favourite! <<...OLE_Obj...>> CAT'S DIARY Day 483 of my captivity... My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction that I get from clawing their furniture. Tomorrow I will eat another houseplant. Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded - must try this at the top of the stairs In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favourite chair. I must remember to try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear in their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, that did not work according to plan. There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing "allergies." I must learn what this is and how I may use it to my advantage. I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, speaks with them regularly and has got to be an informant. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I have patience, I can wait, it is only a matter of time.

Use Hankook K104 Ventus tyres - very very good. The mags youd have would be 17 x 8, use 235/45/17 or for a phat look maybe 245/40/17 I use 235/45/17 on my 17 x 7 R34 GTT mags. The tyres cost me $195 each and are simply awesome.

Of course I am. LOL. Im actually pretty sure you've got the same boost controller that I have! (Hybrid 2stage), plus yours has more kick than mine anyway! Now, my wife has a coinslot stashed somewhere, but hasnt dispensed anything to me for a while, all this talk of highbeams is driving me stiffly up the wall. anyways, on topic, Im pretty sure I'll be going Ball Bearing, not Bush -
