  1. Tell 'em you need a Stagea; would love to see the look on their faces! *scratches jaw, blank eyed manic look, brain ticking over going 'wtf??'*
  2. uummmmm, what is this fabled "public transport" thing you keep mentioning here? Remember, 'tis Adelaide, so no such thing as "public transport" down here; I mean its not as if we are as 'cultured' as the eastern states, hey! Better off borrowing a 'Line from one of your car-yard contacts me thinks. But if you do that then just make bloody sure you dont try one of those ridiculous 'hook turns' that Vics seems to love doing All the best mate, Brendan
  3. The GTR shocks now come with a free set of Stagea shocks (struts only, no springs), they are GTR fronts and GTST rears. So for a couple hundred you get 2 sets of shocks!! LOL
  4. The Stagea now feels like its a Slot-car.... awesome, top value using Ryan. I totally recommend him to you all, to work on your performance cars, for any aspect whatsoever. Hes actually coming ack tomorrow to finish off the castor bushes (needs a big press to punch them out) and the subframe alignment, out of his own goodwill. cant get better service or value for money than that, hey! Just over $250 all up for quite a few hrs of work (I threw in lunch and we consumed plenty of drinks LOL, didnt finish until it was pitch black as we talked way too much!) Brendan
  5. Im using, like Alex, the standard Nissan R34 GTT 17inch 6-spoke wheels. They fit without a problem, and provide a suitable look and a nice ride. Well done on your UK purchase - enjoy the salt winter roads!!
  6. I fail to understand why 'everyone' would want a Japanese manual.... i mean, should just 1 person buy it, and then do a group buy on translating the entire manual? That way everyone still pays around the $100 mark, and get a Translated copy instead. Mind you it may have taken longer, but I know personally Id NEVER fork out the cash for a foreign languange book which Ive got no time or resources to have translated. oh well, all the best with it - if someone ever translates it, PM me and Id love to buy a proper copy in the future. Brendan
  7. Im running middle adjuster hole for both front and rear.... seems nice and taut.
  8. Ryan (0401 727 440) is a car-nut, owning a turbo'd work van, and a sweet-as R31 Skyline, He did an awesome job on my Stagea suspension group buy (shocks, swaybars, bushes etc). Awesome value for money. We went thru my car today here today & installed the goodies, was real cheap really to do it all in the garage at home, he can do all sorts of stuff, pretty much everything to do with the Skylines..... & holds accounts with all the brand name suppliers etc, so can supply and fit basically anything (suspn, turbos, gearboxes, diffs, services etc - anything really), and gets all the BrandName goodies at like wholesale prices. Looks like I'll go thru him when Im ready for my hiflow turbo; later this year. If you're after a mechanic, he'll come to you and work out of his van etc, and supply and fit whatever you need done. Top bloke, was an easy day doing all the suspn gear for my Stag; oh boy she'd improved her handling 'somewhat' Tangles.
  9. I was involved with the last group buy of these awesome valued 'coolers from Alex; received the item damn quickly, perfectly wrapped up etc, and was very impressive service indeed, to say the least. Absolute bargain for this group buy price, Definately well worth the money in my opinion. If you've got an auto Skyline and havent bothered upgrading the oil cooler as yet, then why havent you? Easy upgrade, and very cost effective too! (dont want that auto to overheat!) Brendan
  10. Has your timing belt been changed; or alternaviely how many (genuine) kms has the car done? btw:- bring it out on the next sthn SA crusie!
  11. LOL, I hear ya! Best of luck with it mate, seeing youve had the 'trouble' for a fair while, I hope you can have it all sorted and ironed out. She'll be right....... Doing my stuff this Monday at home with a fella (for a small fee), hopefully just by adding the Bilstein shocks at standard height (maybe just one groove down at front) with stnd springs, wont have a camber issue, or tyre wear etc. Cant wait to test it all out afterwards!!!! Had my power button on today, and with 160awkw she really cranks in the lower gears, so with the suspn & wheels/tyres freshly sorted me thinks a good Hills run is in order.
  12. Mate, save the $ on the hoses (Cant belive that expensive!) and drop in a GTR engine/gearbox combo.
  13. No probs at all mate........ =) well done
  14. Would you take $375 paid via direct bank deposit?? Im in Adelaide........
  15. When my ABS & 4WD went kaput on my Stagea, I refused to drive it (did like 90km in the month)... I knew it was a 4k figure IF I drove and stuffed up the 4wd system. Dills at *onkins drilled thru my wiring loom when installing a *tereo system. Finally, after much searching here on the threads etc etc, and much heartache, worked out the problem & it was fixed in a jiffy. Now, reading your thread here Steve, Im so glad I didnt continue to drive it! And now I know if a spacesaver goes on, then its on for no more than a few kms............ Bad luck 2 you, hope its the best-case scenario mate. Brendan
  16. Mate, can you PM me the details? Not saying that Id be able to keep up, but, having new suspension installed next week and would LOVE to try it out thru the hills........... Brendan
  17. Ive got my old 'compliance' cat you can pretty much have..... but im sure thats a 2 or 2.5inch unit, sorry. Use that and cut the flanges off, and get a 3inch pipe from a exhaust shop pretty cheap......
  18. badluck, big time. Ive seen it written somehwere, a full replacement of all the 'going concerns' could be like 3k+, all dependent on the damage of course.
  19. So fronts on soft and rears in the middle.... I gather thats using the top holes at the front adj. swaybar, and middle hole at the rear adj. swaybar...... although I DO like the thought of 'taily'!! But then again this is a family car, so I cant go around trying to make it into a bigger version of my bike (although by bejeesus Im trying!). Brendan
  20. Having my suspension done this monday (3rd April 06). For like $200. Having the front and rear Bilstein shocks fitted with my standard springs, plus the rear Whiteline subframe alignment kit, plus the front Whiteline castor kit, and the front and rear Whiteline adjustable swaybars. Going to try to help out the man (on site, works from his van) so its going to be pretty cheap..... a good deal! Hopefully we can find time to fit the Davies Craig oil cooler as well, but we'll see about that on the day. I can leave that until I get the valve body upgrade done at MV Automatics. Question to you all though: What is the suggested settings for the swaybars? Mine are the adjustable ones, so what holes should I use? The top holes, middle holes, or bottom holes - front and rear? What are the settings that you are using, and how does that effect the handling of your Stagea? With the shocks, the rears will be standard height and I'll drop the circlip on the fronts by one groove. Cheers, Brendan
  21. edited - see new thread titled Whiteline Swaybars
  22. Thanks maxx I just received my Bilstein shocks and the Whiteline subframe alignment kit (to go with the Whiteline swaybars and castor kit I got a week or so ago), and gave Ryan a call. His number is now 0401 727 440 and is readily available to install suspension gear for you all. Im going to help him do it this coming Monday (3rd May) to do it all, and its going to be like around $200, seeing that I live like just across the road from him! - awesome value either which way though! Let you all know how it goes - Brendan
  23. Yeah man, I ride (rarely these days) on weekends only, under 7000kms a year etc etc. Its not insured as a daily ride, due to the fact that it aint a daily ride whatsoever - i REFUSE to ride it in the metropolitan area, thats not what its been built for!! LOL
  24. meh, I chatted last night mate, before I left for an early bedtime & Im v.surprised you're getting the power you are from a stnd.turbo!
