I love my SAFC in my automatic 4wd Stagea.... plus have it tuned with a duel-stage EBC (10/12psi) and a SITC. Had the SAFC tuned as a standalone unit at 10psi and had 140awkw with cat-back exhaust and stock R34 GTT intercooler (and with a new O2 sensor made an extra 150kms per tank)..... added the SITC, dump pipe and fmic and now have 160awk at 12psi still getting 400kms per tank before reserve (was 250kms originally). If youve got an auto Id highly recommend it. But Id also recommend grabbing a SITC as well for the ignition timing alterations, as well as the air/fuel that the SAFC helps you tune....... With my combo Id expect over 200awkw with a highflow turbo at mild boost.

So - do you use your glovebox much? SAFC - $400 (approx?) SITC - $250 (either new or 2ndhand) EBC - $250 (Hybrid dual stage) up to $1000 Setup and tuning - $700 So all of that is roughly $1600 as well & a FULL glovebox - depends which way you want to go really. EDIT - with fuel regulator, pod filter, full zorst, fmic, etc etc, and the above, 160awkw is nothing to be sneezed at, with easy 200awkw potential with a hiflow turbo.

Yeah sorry I 2nd that - I had a new turbo/exhaust gasket done for my Stagea, added with a custom recut/weld on the dump pipe. All up for the shops hassle was around $120 by memory(?)... plus the $1500 for the rest of the stuff I had done, like SITC install, SAFC retune etc!! Btw - my Apex'i "Hybrid" 2ndhand fmic has a slight whistle, nothing much really, probably my dodgey-brothers home installation and ebay cut-up pipe kit (although I used 4ply hose throughout).

The other option is to grow a foot in height, so that it'd make it virtually impossible to drive a manual Stagea - then you wouldnt be tempted into the conversion!

Ask Mad34 by memory, here in SA, a load of troubles. Or ask SK, he can elaborate a bit further........

The first photoshop effort looks ok, whereas trhe Crewman style is just plain wrong - needs a rear canopy, trherefore might as well stay a wagon! The green-beast Stagea with R34 front looks HORN!!! Mind you a lot of ppl wouldnt know it was derived from a Stagea wagon & not a R34 sedan.

Yes very true - mine is like SK's. SITC and SAFC (both Apex'i) are in the glovebox, along with instructions, although the box is kept locked (sorry officer, I dont have a key, no idea whats in there!) The dual stage EBC is in the coinbox above drivers right knee.

I gotta say, great shot firstly, but I bars the white Series 2.... since Ive got mine (silky snow pearl), Id grab the white again (S2 model thankyou very much) in a snap. With a bodykit, nice wheels, dark standard windowes, they look a treat in Silky White pearl. You can keep your silver and blue, the white ones mine! LOL

I got my (new) SITC off ebay - they come up often as 2ndhand items there, do a worldwide search as they are generally located in Japan or USA. How about Autronics? The fella who runs that started Motec from what I understand, and my local tuners, being the Autronic agebt, have said for the money its a good compromise - but too expensive for me at this stage. My stagea's dual EBC / SITC / SAFC combo is working well and is nicely tuned for 10 / 12psi, nothing wrong with it in my opinion. However we'll see how it goes once a hiflow turbo install has been performed............

I got onto BF2 last month, played a little but not much - name is MajorTangles If you see me say g'day, I traverse DOD:source a fair bit as a clan member, named goon >> Tangles. After I tried DOD:s, I went out & forked out $2k for a beast of a PC box, with a 7800gtx and all! LOL

ARC boxes come up all the time on ebay - check weekly for a good price, direct from Japan. Nothing like $500, more like $200 delivered by memory.

No probs, but need new pads.... (Group Buy??)

Running 12psi. All fully tuned. Full exhaust, fmic, NEW oxygen sensor (for best fuel economy), pod filter, sitc, safc, ebc etc etc. Get over 420km per tank (hitting resevre), with 160awkw. Great pick up at 5000rpm, no splutter for me - a nice safe tune, rarely do I let it stay at 12psi....... (heat factor = dead turbo). Got a spare turb' sitting on the shelf.......

LOL funny answers. My induction roar is exactly that, with 160awkw its a ROAR - too loud. My stereo can go pretty loud, so that gets cranked a fair bit. But the front suspension doesnt like those 'little' speed humps that are quite 'steep' (generally found by my local bourbon supplier) - big groan as mentioned above. I havent noticed anything else, besides slight squeek from a disc when cold at low speeds, very intermitant, but a normal replacable item so not concerned at this stage.

No difference. You could use the same intercooler on BOTH your S1 and S2 Stageas! I scoured ebay for a good 2ndhand unit (just pick out the fins, and give it a good flush with 50/50 kero/metho mix). Eventually found a sweet Apex'i "Hybrid" intercooler for a S13, but perfect for my FMIC installation. Im going to go hiflow myself, but probably via ATS (Adelaide Turbo Services) in liue of GCG. ATS hiflows are suppossidly built with GT30 internal's, fully balanced etc..... So, Id gather good for a little bit more HP than a GCG, not much but it might help in your case. Slightly more than $2k.
