  1. you'll be ablse to make a buck off the Dayz bodykit - they look real nice in the flesh, so Id recommend the kit to some1 who wants a schmick Stagea but not too flashy.
  2. My Stagea is currently set at 12psi, with all the supporting mods. I never keep it held on 12psi boost for more than a sec or 2 - its the heat build up that destroys the ceramic exhaust wheel. Ive got a spare RB25 turbo at home, so not too worried if she shags herself, but I dont think that'll happen due to my 1st comment above.
  3. Its just how it is....... Now, if its a LARGE animal (human, cow, deer, kangaroo) you've obviosuly got to protect your own safety & aim to miss the animal. Common sense, really. Although Im not too sure about native animals........... ???
  4. I wAs a Commodore VR V8 ex-chaser sedan driver, modified it from stock to around 215kw at crank (not much I know, budget job). BuT I was never, and am not (as far as I know) a bogon_dickhead..... just depends on your morals & values. Oh, I got some of them (m & v), as the VR got sold and I now drive a very shmick Stagea RB25det awd wagon, modified with 160awkw. Dream car was always a R33 GTS-T, but with 2 kids I needed to be realistic, so a Stagea is the prefect compromise. Imagine driving a tool Commodore Wagon - hahahahahah no thanks.
  5. IT IS TRUE, law is that if you stop for a cat on the road (or any SMALL animal), to avoid hitting it, and you get involved in an accident, its your fault.
  6. I'd think that mine has good pads, as they grip VERY well. I was very surprised I stopped so quickly. Biggest limiting factor is the $100 cheaparse tyres Im using (until someone finds me a set of 17inch R34 GTT wheels!! wink wink please) Brendan
  7. Hiyas, can details be PM'd to me please, for the Stagea to have a run (new 4 week old baby, not sure if I will go or not...... SLEEPY, sorry!) Im down south, near States Rd (Morphett vale). Brendan
  8. Im just off States Rd (next parrallel rd down), but yes the Expressway & Panalatinga rd have a history of crazy speeding drivers & mad tailgaters. Tailgaters suck dog-ass, in my opinion. Remember, 3sec gap between you and car in front. Safety first. On a side note, some off the 150+kmph crashes on Pan. rd have been impressive to say the least..... !!
  9. Too true, in perspective this is a city traffic car, so its ok for that sort of driving. For track/hills, Brembo all the way!!!
  10. I tested my brakes yesterday (new baby = very tired driver; would be better off drunk I reckon!). They are GOLD. They stop hard & quick...... standard. As good as my DBA x-drilled/slotted rotors on my ex-VR V8 chaser sedan. When they are worn, then I'll put slooted DBA's on the front, with good pads all round. Brendan
  11. Meh, I got a full-sized model I can look at if I wish!! Better yet, get to driver her too!!! LOL
  12. Wow AC, great value for sure, for that price..... geez! Ive been 'looking' for R34 GTT wheels, but couldnt find anything for anywhere near under $1000. So, Stagea owners, if you hear of some R34 wheels for sale for a 'decent' price, please let me know (if you dont want them that is). Thanks in advance, Brendan
  13. Maybe even a blocked air filter or intercooler, ie full of crud. Might not be getting enough air? Take off the front bar, take off 'cooler & flush with kero/metho, check all pipes & clean air element. Give it a run in lower boost & see how it feels (?).... dunno really.
  14. Geeze man, best of luck with it *envious* What boost will you be running? Are you going to fork out $150 for a Fuel Pressure Regulator? Or injectors? Youve got the exhaust(?), GTT 'cooler, & the new bits, all tuned together. What power output are you expecting? Id imagine with a FPR you'd be able to reach 180awkw at ~14psi fairly steadily.......
  15. for plastic welding, call up some local motorbike sales shops & see who they use......... best of luck with the transplant.
  16. next time, walk up to him........ open your fly, and piss on his leg / or his seat on his yellow dunga. see what happens. lol
  17. aaahhh, so you DONT own maccas then? My hunch was incorrect........
  18. Yeah, thanks heaps SK, very VERY helpful info. MV Automatics charge around that $500 mark for supply only of valve body (exchange) & big oil cooler, or around $650 fitted for me (just up the road). Now I understand a stall converter; so you dont move until it's 'stalled up' as such. Certainly not necessary for a family-type car, for me anyways. With the valve body upgrade, Ive been told by SA forum members who use the product that the shifts are as harsh as how far your right foot is down on the throttle. City easy driving and its not too harsh, flat stick 6000rpm change and it'll bang up into the next gear...... Thanks very much for your input SydneyKid, appreciated. Brendan
  19. 2 cars & a bike, absolute bliss. *wink* Yeah, I too would like to 'convert' to tiptronic style. Dont know how or if it could be done, 1st thing though will be to do the actuator valve body exchange and add a big oil cooler kit. What do torque converters do, and are they worthwhile for a 200awkw auto Stagea thats primarily a family car?
  20. If Mel wants to have a test drive, PM me Pauley.
  21. Im paying ~$900 for full comp insurance thru Shannons, I think replacement value for my Series1 Stagea is ~$22k (a few mods), plus Im paying around the same for the CBR thru Shannons, with that valued at $13k. There are probably less than a dozen Stagea's in SA...... so you get a unique vehicle and authorities wouldnt have a clue as to what it is, whats standard etc. A true Stealth Wagon and great value for money; in my opinion.
  22. 5hrs straight is awesome (considering the weather)! Hope all is going well for your new family. Our little 3wkold Deontae was hot yesterday, no more than 3hrs during nights. *yawn* Considered the WRX hatch, but boot space for pram, dog, 2kids belongings, etc..... not big enough, and the Forrester GT was a bit too expensive (same price as a Series2 Stagea). *yawn, sleepy* Stagea wins out, an import, Nissan, rb25det, awd, etc, great value & perfect for a 3to4-person family. Under 20k gets a great-nick unit, mine was under 18k. I like the performance (got around 230-oddkw at engine) and capabilities of the Stagea, and the lines are sleek-as. Tasty, and a treat to own. Best car purchase Ive made, and for your 16500 sale its basically a car-exchange plus stampduty. =) Brendan
  23. Ive got what REdgtst has..... the Bosch 040 cost me $198 delivered, works a treat. My stock R33-pump from the Stagea was running fine when replaced.
  24. Thats true, on Feb 4 at AIR there is an event for $50, should take the Stag and see what she can reel off. Then get the gearbox actuator valve job done at MV Autos (eventually) and go back to compare differences. Ive never done a 1/4mile time before, but would like to compare differences with snow mode, power and normal. All depending on how warm she gets though........
  25. drive to qld & swap it (dealer trade-in) for a nice stagea (like mine that you looked at), that'd be the easiest option. well done on the bubs Mel, we had our 2nd boy on1.1.06
