  1. My sub and front speakers are off the amp, and rear speakers are off the head unit. Good allround response. I too can hardly hear the doofdoof music when standing outside the car, very loud inside but quiet as outside. Nice.
  2. It all looks the same, thanks for the different info guys, thats been extremely helpful. I'll check it over again tonight. I'll measure it up to see if I get 50mm thickness, and Im sure it has got OP6 in a couple of places. On one of those threads (for bass junky's sale of turbo) he's got 45V1, where as mine is stamped 45V2 and the pic from Jmac says 45V2 as well. Hopefully what Ive got then IS the R34 Neo turbo. Just has a different stamp number on the actuator (large 28 rather than a large 29). Brendan
  3. Nup, mine didnt work. Any other suggestions? Thinking I might have to pull out the ecu and turn the knob on the back of that to reset it.
  4. Mines all come on since the stereo was installed.........
  5. I'll give it a shot. Thanks. Ive read some docos but arnt exactly sure which two holes to be shorting........
  6. Stupid post I know; had a good search, a read thru various threads about resetting ECU, flashing the grey plug in the fuse area, etc. Basically, Ive just had two faults come up on the dash since the stereo install - the 4WD light and the ABS light next to it, both on the dash. They come on after about 60sec of driving (and stay on), but wont come on if you have the car runing in nuetral or park (on start up). I havent driven it much as Im unsure as to whether this will damage anything? I disconnected the battery, got the power out of the car (held down the horn, flashed the brakes, fiddled with the lights, etc), got it going again, but the 4WD & ABS lights came on within a 1km of driving. Should I flash the ECU via a paperclip in the grey plug? Im not sure at all of which 2 pins to be shorting out - can anyone photoshop 1 of these pics of this grey plug and mark out the 2 pins to short out)? Or should I simply have the workshop check it all out when I take it down for more tuning work (in 4 weeks time maybe)? Suggestions please?
  7. The small sub box with woofer and amp sits snuggly behind that LH wheel-well. Still great for carrying loads as it doesnt hinder the space, plus can still have the odd drive-in movie experience!
  8. Had a lookover the turbo, getting a feel for its condition. Actually I reckon the turbo is in fantastic condition with harldy any shaftplay whatsoever. Got it from a forum member for a decent price, and was heaps easy to deal with. The front turbine looks to be plastic, so thats what the Neo is, isnt it?
  9. Yeah, well, I had a good look at the system last night, after the post here, and saw that the damn amp was on the back of the subwoofer still (as it was in my VR). Couldnt believe it, as that wasnt how it was arranged beforehand..... BUT, having said that, the amp/sub box fits extremely well in the LHR rear qrt panel area, right between the wheelwell and the rear door. Almost fluch mounted in line with the wheelwell, so I'll leave it there. So I'll add an edit to the first post. Yup SK, had read your thread, just wanted to let ppl know about rear door speaker thickness.
  10. Well done SK, Ive been to the moulder / fibreglass maker..... COST prices as follows: Mould per side of side skirt only: $375 per side Fibreglass 'Dayz' copy of mould: $250 per side So $750 to get moulds made up, and around $500 per pair (could be cheaper if a large run happens at the same time, ie 10-off may be $450 a pair). Plus shipping and cost of packaging..... not worth it in my opinion, the first 10 ppl's would be up for around $575 a pair plus freight. But thats an option for what I can do on my end, from a reputable company.... hope that helps somewhat. Brendan
  11. Thats excellent info, cheers for letting us know (damn Nissan - why have you duped us with cheap components, why why?). Mate, facts are good, its why we all read these forums (well, me anyway). I want to learn the facts about Stageas in general. Totaly understand it aint a GTR (would have bought a 260RS for that), but its still one fine Nissan. So practicle........., sexy........., smooth lines........., just plain yummy....., I think Im in love! From what you've said, it makes all the more reason / sense to keep under that 200-4wkw mark. Cheers. Bikes are cool, but I DONT ride in traffic, only to get fuel and air, and then straight to the Hills (Im 2kms away!). This Fireblade IS NOT for 60kmph city traffic. I just hope I dont have a big one, if you know what I mean. Hhhhm, must get life insurance. Brendan
  12. If I can tomorrow I'll get down to the shop and ask for a quote - but I dont see the point in paying that kind of cash ($600) for a set of moulds. Youd want 12 ppls straight away ordering a set of side skirts to make it viable. Isnt it better for you lot (who want bodykits - Im fine, Ive got a Dayz!!) to buy a bulk lot from Japan and share the costs? Brendan
  13. OK, thought I should put this thread in to help out others in the future. A Clarion 4-channel amplifier (edit: installed behind sub) A Clarion 6-stack CD player fits fine under the passenegers seat, easy to get to. A Clarion subwoofer in custom box can be easily strapped into the wagon space, and can beremoved when that space is needed. Head unit: Clarion with tape player, fully adjustable. Front speakers: Pioneer 6.5inch 4-way speakers, 16cm diameter, 91db, 57mm mounting depth, model TS-A1681S, 260w (fantastic) Rear speakers: Eclipse 6.5inch 3-way speakers, 80w only but good for 90db, 49mm mounting depth - any bigger & it wont fit due to baffles that are in that rear door area (have been told the baffle stops water getting on the speakers - so dont take them out!) Standard speakers, as SK has mentioned before, are Clarion 15w, maxed outr at 30w. Mine were terrible. Juncked them in the bin. The sound is unbelievable. Awesome bass etc. Wicked!! Make note of the rear door mounting depth..... Best of luck, brendan
  14. Oh yeah, I can imagine. BUT, Ive got meself a beast of Fireblade (ie 8k+ of power, handling, stopping & 'look' mods). So I get to absolutely ring its neck out thru the awesome Adelaide Hills and get all my stresses ut of my system, and then I guess I drive the Stagea rather sedately, in comparison! 250hp from the car will be just fine for me; as its meant to be a family car!!! :-) But Ive read youre mods, and Im envious. Green with envy in fact.
  15. But its going to cost me for the moulds..... I'll get prices and post it all up and you ppl's can make your decision from there. For it to be viable I reckon 5 sets would need to be made up, depending on the cost of the moulds. Please confirm - is this what people want? Some sexy replica Dayz side skirts? I can confirm they look FANTASTIC on the Stagea, not too pimpy but yet not too constrained either. Brendan
  16. Thanks Ian, but I think you need to be close up to the turbo... Ive posted in the Forced Induction section so see if I get any luck there. Here is what the turbo says: Actuator says 28 4 Z06A and ASN 79 Turbo says 45 V 2 back of turbo says 21 U
  17. As topic says, how can you identify a Neo turbocharger from the R34 GTT Neo, from a R33 GTSt turbocharger? Ive got a top condition turbo sitting in front of me, meant to be off a R34 and therefore its a Neo turbo & actuator. Actuator says 28 4 Z06A and ASN 79 Turbo says 45 V 2 back of turbo says 21 U
  18. UPDATE Made a phone call, going to see a proffessional company either tomorrow (Saturday 8th Oct) or the following Saturday. They can make up a mould, which I get to keep, and make up however many sets are required, whenever they are required. They have assured me that my car's Dayz side skirts bodykit wont be damaged, so Im aok with all of this. This is for side skirts only, not the rear bumper skirts or the front bar. Also, I will say straight out that I dont want to be held accountable if purchasers percieve the replica side skirts to be of poor construction/condition etc. Im doing this as a favour to the rest of you (wonderful) Stagea owners. I'll get some quotes and go from there..... and update this forum thread once I have more info. WOW - now Im a bodykit seller! Brendan
  19. Received my R34 GTT Neo turbocharger and actuator today, top condition by the looks of things. EDIT: Help please, what numbers (ie stuff written on the turbo) can I use to determine that this turbo is in fact a Neo?
  20. Your'e here (Adelaide) for Mallala arnt you Gary (SK)? Maybe you might want to meet up with me somewhere in the city, I can Loan you my Dayz side skirts for you to take back to Sydney, make your moulds and skirts (Im sure you've got contacts) and then post my skirts back to me?
  21. Thought so SK,...... So, tell me what you'd like me to do? See if I can get moulds made and 1 copy set made up? Just that Ive got no contacts as such as Im not involved in the car industry (besides mod'n the Stagea!) Or can Sydney bodymoulders be able to do the job? I had a full GTR-style kit made up for our old Pulsar N15 hatch about 5yrs ago, done in Sydney from one of the more-recognised manufacturers (JetSpeed?)..... BW
  22. Ok, by the sounds of it ppl's arnt quite ready as yet, ie with cash and decisions. I'll leave it for now, but make a couple of phone calls anyway to see who can take moulds and produce quality skirts. There are a quite a few places, but pretty much WAY out the other side of the city from where I live, although there are a couple of local places I can try. I'll be off from xmas to february (paternity leave for the 2nd kiddie), so can do running around for people then!!! Unless ppl's order bulk kits in from Japan??? EDIT: I wont be getting any bodykit parts whatsoever, but if I can help ppl out then I will.
  23. PPFFT! Once you've used braided you never go back!
  24. Going to check out a couple of fibregalss mould shops here in Adelaide this Saturday (hopefully places are open on Saturday). Im full time Mon-Fri so Sat is the only day I can look-see. Can get an indication if copies can be made (without screwing up my skirts), how long it'd take, quality, price, etc. Hands up for numbers? Who wants Dayz REPLICA skirts? If I can go to some shops and say "take my skirts, make a mould up & do Xamount of copies while you are there, and make 'em good, damn good", might be able to sort some pricing out. Postage.... need to source the right size boxes, and I can have TNT deliver them. But we'll get to that later. Let me know about the intrest, and I'll see if I can get a quote.
  25. NICE. Ive got a catback 3inch aluminium coated mild steel, nice and quiet, just get a little wurble from the front dump pipe. Donet want them too loud........ Brendan
