I cant make moulds as such, and I'll have to take a look at how it goes on, etc. Dont want to f* up my dayz bodykit! But if the sideskirt set needs to be borrowed as such so moulds can be made, and orders placed to that mould maker, then we can give it a go. Im in Adelaide, who has mould-making contacts?
-
Do you need a set to buy or to copy and make a mould from?
-
Cheers for that info - so you did a 'light' coat... how about the primer. What brand was that, and how thick did you spray it? Getting an Apexi U-bend style fmic and would like to keep the stealth look of my Stagea......
-
Well, thats true, I am a dreamer... But fact is with 141kw at the moment, I just cant see the need to have anything over 180-200kw. The car goes fantastically well enough as is. Handles well, goes aok, but could do with better front rotors.

 hahahaha... too true! although fairly soon I'll be 1 less patella (kneecap)! does that make me only a half owner?? 7 surgeries going on 8 (spent 8months now in a full leg brace with absolutley no leg movement), and pretty much crippled. Was a footy player with some potential (read 201cm tall and 120 gym-type kgs!), but now a expert recliner tester........ But I love the Stag, and riding my Fireblade damn hard thru the Adelaide Hills keeps me relatively sane and feeling immortal.

Nah man, that was a top comment (we both know you're right!)

Apexi Super Ignition Timing Computer
Tangles replied to Sydneykid's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Not thinking of using it yourself? -
For your info, my complete install, with 4 new $130 speakers, installing head unit and facia panel, and bolting the 2 items under the 2 front seats, will be $650 to $700. Full days labour included. Edit: $120 each, on special. The speakers are Pioneer TS-A1681S, 260w, 16cm diameter x 57mm mounting depth. 4-way with tweeter & 'Supertweeter'. Meant to be great with BASS
-
Man thats a right royal bitch. That'd suck...... can transit insurance cover that? Im having 4 x 250w Pioneer 6inch speakers put into the doors this Friday, with my Clarion head unit installed. The amp will be installed underneath my drivers seat and the 6-stack CD player will be bolted under the front passengers seat. The subwoofer box will be strapped down in the back, but set up for a quick and easy release and removal. I love my bass, so the sub becomes part of the car. Fact is, the standard speakers are crap, and dont cut the mustard. Even on AM band with talking there is a heap of vibration etc. Nasty stuff.......

Maybe the question should have been 'how young are the Stagea owners', SK!

Why Is It So Hard To Sell A Skyline Privately?
Tangles replied to NA_R33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Took me around 10 weeks to sell my VR BT1 Commodore (unbagded SS), V8 with super low kms, and nicely modified. Too many time wasters out there, and ridiculous offers. So had to strip out the stereo and whatnot, and finally it sold (for a stupidly low price). Disheartening. But its the way the market is at the moment. Anyways, Ive got my Stagea and couldnt be happier, as I got it for an awesome price! Works both ways I guess...... -
Or budget up to $500 on ebay international for a great clean condition 2nd hand brand name unit, and have custom piping made.......
-
I bought a Hybrid 2stage EBC from them... off ebay. After researching I found the price I paid was more expensive than off their own website. EDIT: thats ebay for you though - you win some and you lose some. As is Im WAY ahead with the win ratio!

Syncro Mode Facts From The English Handbook
Tangles replied to emanuelt's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Sorry Ian, just asking, although I was hoping I wouldnt hit a nerve with the query. There seem to be so many variances within the same model of car....... -
After reading this, I feel all grey and oldish. Well, I am going very grey, and after 7knee surgeries I certainly do feel rather oldish!!!
-
Oops, maybe I should stick to speaking for myself. I guess Ive never been in a GTR so should have kept my typing fingers to myself. At the end of the day, even a RS260 wouldnt exactly 'feel' like a GTR. Its a wagon, not a coupe! Nevertheless, what a TOP car!

Not a huge amount of room for a fmic, unless you go ape with the airsaw, so thats why Ive been keeping an eye out for a 'stumpy' sized fmic. A 600 x 300 x 100 would be pushing things, but it certainly could be done, with care. Going to have to move the license plate though, and cut that area up so that it's free to gobble up the air. The small apexi cooler Ive got will be a perfect fit and good for 400hp.

Syncro Mode Facts From The English Handbook
Tangles replied to emanuelt's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
"A/T Mode switch Normal: Transmission will automatically change from power to economy mode as the conditions require (eg hill driving). When power is required the power light will appear on the dash. Power: Gives the engine more power which is useful for hills, faster starts, etc. When the power mode is selected the power light will show on the dash. Snow: For driving in snowy conditions. Place the select in the D position. The ability to start, drive and stop on slippery roads will be enhanced. Note: This vehicle is a full-time 4wd. Tight Cornering Effect: While driving with the Synchro mode in the ON position and the steering wheel is fully turned (to either side), the vehcile may brake suddenly. This is called the tight cornering effect and is the result of the difference in rotation speed between the front and rear wheels when the vehicle is turning. This is not a fault. The steering wheel will seem heavier to turn." Synchro-mode: see first post From the translated manual. I have no lights as such on the dash, but the switch itself lights up.(edited) Q: Ian, is your car 4wd or 2wd? -
AC, whats your ebay username? Im always buying off ebay, perhaps you can start to specialise in Stagea's, for all of us.......? 28 next month, 1 wife so far, a little 2.5yr old man, and a negative 3month old (due in January). Add in the little man's dog, and the wagon becomes the 'mature' choice. Doesnt mean I cant enjoy mod'ing it tho! I cant get over just how good a car it is (and I didnt call it a wagon, as when you're driving it, it doesnt feel like one)!

Syncro Mode Facts From The English Handbook
Tangles replied to emanuelt's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Sync button is LHS of steering wheel, big boxy looking button & a light comes up on the dash, Snow mode is RHS of auto shifter (power, normal, snow), no light on dash but the button turns 'green'. Edit: correct?? Also, in Snow mode my auto gets switched to 2nd gear, = slower takeoffs. If I want to be beaten at the traffic light grand prix I press snow mode! Brendan -
Ive searched out prices for forum members of $230 for an 040 pump, or $300 for the 044 pump. Is that expensive for a new upgraded fuel pump? I would have thought a 2nd hand GTR pump would be close to the $200 mark...... Id be happier to pay $230 for a brand new Bosch 040 pump, that'll be fine for my projected 4wheel power output, and would be good for another 80000kms. But then again, if anyone here has a good R33 GTR series 2 fuel pump for sale, drop me a PM. Cheers, Brendan

Mounting Boost Controller Incabin?
Tangles replied to onBOOST247's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yup, One of my first mods was to buy a Hybrid EBC (cheap-arse, it aint expensive) and install it in lieu of the engine mounted turbosmart bleed valve. I figure the solenoid type is more accurate than a manual unit. No spikes, just good steady progressive boost. -
Cheers mate, with a set of 17's I reckon it'll look ace. This time next year Im going to get me a set...... I can assure you the Dayz looks great in the flesh. As for the driving lights - they are awesome! Bit big and cumbersome to look at, but when I install the Apexi FMIC I just won off ebay I want to make sure the lights stay where they are. They really are that good. They are very bright lights and great for country driving. Pretty much doubles the output of the standard driving lights, if you get what I mean. Brendan
